Vacation Bid Sample Clauses

Vacation Bid. It is understood that, on the 30th of September, the Employer will inform the Employees of the amount of weeks of vacation that they are entitled to. By the 31st of October, the Employees must advise the Employer of how many weeks of vacation they will be taking. By the 15th of November, the vacation bid will be held. By the 1st of December, Employees will be advised of their vacation. Therefore, the vacation bid process will continue as present practice. However, an employee who did not show up as scheduled to choose his/her vacation period can show up in the next five (5) working days and bid on what vacation dates are left. Failing to do so, the Company shall assign his/her vacation period.
Vacation Bid. One person per side of the week is allowed for the first half of the year. Officers and sergeants shall be allowed to sign for two contiguous weeks during the first bid. One officer per all of patrol shall be allowed for the second half of the year. Officers can select from any available slot for the entire year during vacation bid. Officers can select additional vacation time after the mid-year (July) shift change. Sergeants may, with the approval of the Division Commander, allow a team member to take additional vacation time, as long as it is projected that the team will be at or above minimum staffing levels at the time the vacation is approved.
Vacation Bid. 11.4.1 All vacation bids will by means of an Electronic Bidding System. 11.4.2 If for any reason the Electronic Bidding System is not functional then the vacation bid will be by means that is approved by both the Company and the Union. 11.4.3 All vacation bids shall be posted for a minimum of ten (10) calendar days. 11.4.4 Vacation bids shall be published twice per Vacation Year; once in the spring and once in the fall. Vacation bids must be submitted by electronic means prior to a date set by the Company. The deadline shall be reference Toronto Local Time. 11.4.5 Vacation shall be awarded based on the FCMs seniority within their Permanent, Seasonal or Deployed Base and their Status as either a Captain or First Officer. 11.4.6 Notwithstanding the Collective Agreement, a FCM must bid their vacation entitlement in accordance with the Company’s instructions. A FCM shall not be financially penalized for vacation that has been accrued as a First Officer but awarded as a Captain. 11.4.7 Any vacation entitlement remaining after the spring vacation bid shall be carried forward to the fall vacation bid. If, due to operational requirements, the Company is unable to award a FCM remaining entitlement during the fall bid that entitlement shall be carried over to the following bid period or at the request of the member be paid out in accordance with the collective agreement. 11.4.8 A FCM on LOA, STD, LTD or Maternity/Parental leave with a known return to service date shall participate in the Vacation Bid/Award process. 11.4.9 All FCMs that have accrued at least ten (10) Days vacation will have the opportunity to bid at least one (1) week in either season. 11.4.10 Notwithstanding 11.4.9 the Company, based on operational requirements, reserves the right to limit vacation availability in any season or period. 11.4.11 The Company, based on operational requirements, reserves the right to limit the number of Trainer FCM’s on vacation in any vacation block. 11.4.12 A vacation block will consist of five consecutive Days. Vacation Bid. Nothing in the above formula shall limit the Director’s ability to grant additional time off based on staffing levels. All reasonable efforts will be made to grant a Telecommunicator’s request for any time off unless the denial is necessary for minimum staffing requirements and operational needs.
Vacation Bid. The annual vacation bid shall be done by rank beginning with the Sergeants and proceeding to the Corporals and then to the Police Officers. Casual leave shall continue to be handled as in the past.
Vacation Bid. 13.6.1 Initial vacation bid will be entered into the scheduling system on the shift to which you are assigned. Battalion Commanders, Captains, Lieutenants, Engineers, Paramedic, and Specialty Assignments will bid by Time in Grade. Firefighters will bid by seniority. Each member will have an allotted time to put in their bid. 13.6.1.1 Vacation bidding shall be done annually and completed by the third week in March with the resulting vacation bids starting at shift change which takes place at the beginning of the first full pay period in April. 13.6.2 Personnel may bid any or all of their Accrued Holidays, Personal Leave, and Accrued Annual Leave. The scheduling system will approve your bid according to staffing policies and procedures. 13.6.3 Members who are promoted after the vacation bid will have their calendar cleared and will have to request days off at the new rank in accordance with staffing policies and procedures.
Vacation Bid. A. The vacation bid will take place in March, with effective dates of May 1 through April 30 of the following year. The Employer has the right to determine the number of vacation slots open for bidding. However, the Employer shall not revoke any vacation slots (blocks or single days) that are either given back or go unbid, prior to fifteen (15) days of the vacation block or single day starting. Days selected are guaranteed days off. Operators may bid in one (1) week segments (Sunday through Saturday). Operators may combine general leave days, compensatory time and observed or floating holidays for bidding purposes. Operators may bid full week blocks and may also bid up to five (5) single days of additional leave for the year; four (4) of them may be consecutive. B. Seniority by classification will be used to bid for all slots. The order of bid shall be Full- time, Extra board, Part-time A board and lastly, Part-time B board. Full-time and Extra- board Operators may bid up to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of leave time they have accrued at the time of their bid. Part-time A board Operators may bid up to eight (8) days of general leave, regardless of the amount of leave they have accrued at the time of the bid. If A board Operators have insufficient leave available when they take their vacation, they will take the time off without pay. C. The vacation bid will be posted one (1) week in advance of the actual bid for review by Operators. The bid will be conducted during a minimum of a two (2) week period, with more bid time given to less senior Operators so they have time to review the remaining slots. Operators will be expected to bid within the time allotted. D. Operators must take their vacations as scheduled, unless they notify management in writing no later than twenty-one (21) days in advance. Any request later than that date will be denied. A vacation must be cancelled the way it was bid: On a full week bid, the entire week; on a multiple week bid, in increments of one (1) week; and on a single day bid, in single day increments. Operators who cancel their vacation bid, and that bid is scheduled to be held down by either a Full-time vacation bid Operator or an Extra-board Operator, then the Operator canceling vacation shall revert to the top of the extra-board, behind any Extra-board Operator holding down vacation, for the length of the vacation bid being cancelled.   • Vacation Bidding 1. Vacations will be bid by shifts in a Bid Area, except that in any Bid Area having less than 50 employees, vacations shall be bid by Bid Area. When mutually agreed between the Company and the local Union Business Agent/Chief Stewards/Coordinator vacations may be bid by groupings other than those listed herein. Provided that the Company will not unreasonably withhold agreement to such grouping as the local Business Agent advocates. It shall not be unreasonable for the Company to withhold agreement if the proposed grouping can reasonably be expected to materially affect the operation or any portion thereof. 2. In each vacation bidding group, the Department Head or Designee, will determine the total number of vacation weeks to be taken including regular earned vacation and deferred Holidays. For determining weeks to be bid, two (2) or less days will not be considered as a week. 3. If the total number of weeks to be taken is fifty (50) weeks or less, only one (1) person will be awarded a vacation in any given week (considered as a column). 4. If the total number is greater than fifty (50) weeks, a full column will be available for bidding each fifty (50) weeks, and if necessary, a partial column will be available for any remaining weeks in the last column. This method is used to avoid scheduling more people than necessary to be on vacation in any specific week. 5. Once a year, generally in early November, employees will bid for available vacation in the succeeding year based on adjusted Company Service Date. The Company will post notice of where and when employees will bid their initial and subsequent rounds of vacation. Employees will at that specific time, have three (3) ways to notify management of their bid preferences. They may show up in person, or telephone in their preference, or submit a written pre-bid to the designated management representative prior to any particular vacation bid round. Written confirmation will be provided to employees submitting written pre-bids. Once the entire vacation biding process is completed the vacation listings will be posted no later than December 15th. 6. Employees may bid one (1) continuous vacation period, which may include all or any portion of the vacation to which he is entitled. However if the employee is eligible for less than ten (10) working days the employee may not split the available vacation. Once an employee is eligible for ten (10) working days or more, the employee may split the employee’s vacation into separate periods of complete weeks and if a partial week remains, it will be taken in conjunction with one (1) of the employee’s complete weeks. 7. Once each employee has had the opportunity to bid, additional rounds of bidding will be permitted following the same procedure used on the initial round. 8. If an employee does not bid at all, during any given round, the employee will not be given the opportunity to bid until the next round. However if an employee misses his bid time but calls or shows up to bid before that particular round is complete, he will be allowed to bid at that time from the remaining available weeks. 9.   • Vacation Buy Back Employees shall have the option of requesting pay in lieu of time off up to a maximum of 144 hours of vacation time each year, during each year of the contract in increments of eight (8) hrs. Such requests are subject to the approval of the department head and the availability of funds.

Employees who do not select all of their vacation entitlements on the calendar shall be allowed to schedule vacation at a later date, provided that this selection does not affect the scheduled vacations of other employees.

  • Vacation Bonus Employees shall receive one day's base pay (or adjusted earnings) for each year of service beyond twenty-five (25) years, to a maximum of ten (10) days’ pay.

  • Vacation Benefits During the Term, the Executive shall be eligible for 20 vacation days annually, which shall be accrued and used in accordance with the applicable policies of the Company. During the Term, the Executive shall be eligible to participate in such medical, dental and life insurance, retirement and other plans as the Company may have or establish from time to time on terms and conditions applicable to other senior executives of the Company generally. The foregoing, however, shall not be construed to require the Company to establish any such plans or to prevent the modification or termination of such plans once established.

  • Vacation Leave 11.1 Employees will retain and carry forward any eligible and unused vacation leave that was accrued prior to the effective date of this Agreement.
