BEREAVEMENT PAY AND JURY DUTY. 17.01 An employee who has attained seniority will be granted up to five (5) consecutive work days with pay for time lost from work for the purpose of making arrangements and attending the funeral in the event of the death of their spouse, parent, child, Common-law spouse, children, grandchildren, brother and sister. An employee who has attained seniority will be granted up to three (3) consecutive work days with pay for time lost from work for the purpose of making arrangements and attending the funeral in the event of the death of their mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in- law, sister-in-law, niece and nephew. Such possible day’s leave of absence shall be between the day of death and the day of the funeral inclusive. An employee who has attained seniority will be granted up to two (2) days consecutive work days with pay for time lost from work for the purpose of making arrangements and attending the funeral in event of the death of their grandparent and one day for any aunt or uncle. In any event, the employee shall not be entitled to receive any pay hereunder as to any day upon which they would not otherwise have been scheduled to work for the Company.
17.02 For the purpose of calculating the compensation to which an employee is entitled under this Article, it shall be deemed that he time lost from work for an employee shall be nine (9) hours per day.
17.03 An employee who has attained seniority will be granted leave of absence with pay for time lost from work for the purpose of attending a call for Jury Duty. An employee will be entitled to paid leave under this section where the employee is subpoenaed to appear in court for an accident or incident witnessed on duty. The paid leave will be offset by any monies paid by the court.

16.02 The Company shall pay to any Employee who may be required to serve as a juror or who may be subpoenaed by the Crown to appear as a Crown witness, the difference between the amount received for such service and the amount the Employee would normally have received for a regular work day, provided that the said Employee shall return to work each day immediately upon being discharged from jury duty where practicable.
16.03 The Employee may be required to present written proof that he/she was required to and did serve as a juror during the period for which he/she requests his/her pay.
BEREAVEMENT PAY AND JURY DUTY. 29.1 An employee absent from work due to the death and attendance at the funeral of a spouse, partner, child, parent, brother, sister, grandparents, or grandchild will be paid bereavement pay for time not worked up to a maximum of three (3) days but such time shall not extend beyond two (2) days following the date of the funeral or memorial service. This allowance will only be made where the circumstances require the employee’s absence from work in connection with the bereavement.
29.2 Employees who are called for jury duty or subpoenaed as a witness shall, upon presentation to the Company of the appropriate proof of service, receive their regular earnings for regularly scheduled shifts for all days on jury duty or as a subpoenaed witness. The employee must turn in to the Company the jury fees or witness fees he received.

(a) In case of a death in the immediate family of a seniority Employee, the Company shall grant leave of absence with pay not to exceed three (3) days, as may be necessary for the purpose of attending the funeral and making funeral arrangements. Immediate family shall be meant to include mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in- law, brother, sister, children and grandparents. In the event of the death of a spouse, the bereavement leave shall be one (1) standard work week.
(b) A one (1) day leave of absence with pay shall be granted for the purpose of attending the funeral of Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in- law.
(c) To be eligible for such bereavement pay the Employee must not be off 5rtwork on account of illness, accident, compensation, holidays, vacations, leave of absence, or lay-off at the time for which the leave is requested. Employees must provide written proof regarding bereavement leave upon the request of management.
22.02 The Company shall pay, to a seniority Employee who may be required to serve as a juror in any Court of Law in the Country in which he resides, the difference between the amount received for such service and the amount the Employee would normally have received for a regular work day, provided that the said Employee shall return to work each day immediately upon being discharged from jury duty where practicable. One
(1) weeks notice of an Employee being called to jury duty is required by the Company.
22.03 The Employee will be required to present written proof that he was required to and did serve as a juror during the period for which he requests his pay.
BEREAVEMENT PAY AND JURY DUTY. 13.1. In the case of a death in the immediate family (namely the death of a parent, spouse, child, grandchild, brother, sister, step-parent, step-child(ren), or parent-in-law or grandparent) of a non-probationary employee, requiring the employee’s absence from the employee’s regularly scheduled assignment, the employee shall be permitted to take a leave of absence of three (3) consecutive working days within fourteen (14) calendar days following the date of death. Under no circumstances shall the application of this clause result in a change in the employee’s basic weekly salary. In the case of the death of a domestic partner of a non-probationary employee, the employee shall be permitted to take a leave of absence of one (1) working day within fourteen (14) calendar days following the date of death, so long as the employee provides prior notice to the Employer of the identity of their domestic partner. The Employer shall provide forms to the employees allowing them to identify their domestic partner. A non-probationary employee shall be entitled to take an unpaid leave of absence of one (1) day to attend the funeral of a stepbrother, stepsister, niece, nephew, aunt or uncle.
13.2. Any employee who is entitled to funeral leave in accordance with Section 13.1 above shall be permitted to take up to five (5) days of his or her accrued vacation in conjunction therewith.
13.3. An employee may be required to submit proof of death and/or that the deceased was within the class of relatives specified and/or that the employee attended the funeral.
13.4. An employee who has completed his probationary period and who is required to report to court to answer a jury summons or serve as a juror on days he is regularly scheduled to work will be reimbursed the difference between the amount he receives for jury service and his regular pay. Jury Duty pay shall be limited to two weeks in any year. No employee may be required to work on a day he has jury duty.
13.5. An employee may be required to submit proof of jury duty and/or proof that the employee attended jury duty and/or was paid for said service.

In the event of a death in the employee’s immediate family (parent, spouse, child or sibling) the employee shall receive the next three (3) succeeding days off from the date of death and shall be paid for any time lost from their regular schedule as a result of such absence. In Long Island, the employee receives the three succeeding working days off for bereavement leave. In the event of a death in the employees’ grandparent, or a member of the spouse’s family (mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in- law) the employee shall receive one (1) day off for the purpose of attending the funeral and shall be paid lost time due to such absence. In Long Island, with respect to grandparents or grandchildren, the Employer shall grant a paid day off on the day of the funeral or the next succeeding working day, at the employee’s option. For New Jersey, the employee receives the three succeeding days off for the death of a grandparent but does not receive a day off for the death of a grandchild. An employee may be required to submit proof of death and/or that the deceased was within the class of relatives specified and/or that the employee attended the funeral.
