Career Paths. IPSA holders will have access to career opportunities within UNDP as well as to the career development resources available to UNDP personnel. As such, they will be able to apply to UNDP staff positions and job offers under other contractual modalities, in line with UNDP recruitment and selection framework, and the requirements of the respective positions and offers. IPSA holders who have served a minimum of three years with UNDP and have demonstrated successful performance, as recorded in the formal performance reviews, will be eligible to participate in the corporate talent pool assessments and similar initiatives as internal candidates. All IPSA holders will be able to participate in such initiatives, when open to external candidates.

A journalist/photographer Employee who has completed a cadetship shall not be classified as a J1 (D) for longer than 2 years provided the Employee has satisfactorily completed shorthand and other agreed training requirements. Similarly, a J2 (C) grade journalist shall remain at that grade for a maximum of 2 years provided the Employee has satisfactorily completed shorthand and other agreed training requirements.

Career Paths. 18.1 The Parties recognise that the career paths set out in this clause reflect the situation at a given point in time. During the life of this Agreement the Company and the Union will work together to continuously review the career paths, the skill sets and to address any issues which are identified and make any changes necessary through the appropriate processes. A formal review will be conducted on an annual basis as a minimum.
18.2 The parties overarching goal is to continue to ensure the career paths covered by this Agreement contribute to the business objectives whilst ensuring that no employee is worse off by virtue of the action, omission or changes implemented to meet such objectives.

18.4 Career path principles relevant to production Employees covered by this Agreement are as follows:
18.4.1 Career paths are established to permit progression on the basis of the acquisition, application and maintenance of skills.
18.4.2 Each career path will consist of agreed skill sets, progression within the path will require training and assessment in accordance with the clause 23 - Training and Skill Development against each skill set.
18.4.3 The number of levels that are required for progression to the top of each functional career path may not be the same throughout the Mill.
18.4.4 Vacancies will be advertised and filled in accordance with clause 25 - Recruitment and Selection.
18.4.5 An Employee who transfers between career paths will begin progression in the new career path and the applicable Annualised Wage Rates will apply.
18.4.6 Career paths will provide opportunities for Employees to broaden their skills and knowledge and progressively learn more complex tasks.
18.4.7 Each skill set will consist of several competencies or elements of competencies. These will be identified and assessed by a qualified Trainer/Assessor in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Qualification Framework (see clause 23.11)
18.4.8 Employees will use the full range of skills and knowledge possessed to meet the needs of the operation. Employees may be required to work in any job function for which they are trained and hold current skills.
18.4.9 Employees will assist in tasks where no specific skills are required or in any task where they possess the appropriate skills.
