Employee Recognition Program. Employee recognition programs may be instituted in County departments. The purpose of such programs will be to recognize exemplary employees and improve public service through enhanced motivation. The establishment, disestablishment, administration and regulation of all employee recognition programs shall be at the discretion of the Chief Administrative Officer. Such programs as are established shall not be subject to appeal under the Grievance Procedure of this Agreement.

Employee Recognition Program. The Employer agrees to continue coverage of benefits to retired full-time employees based on the formula listed below to age 65. To be eligible for these benefits, employees must apply for and meet OMERS qualifications. Benefits shall be extended health coverage, dental care and $25,000 life insurance as defined under the Collective Agreement. 30 years of service - 100% paid by Employer 25 years of service - 75 % paid by Employer - 25% paid by employee 20 years of service - 50% paid by Employer - 50% paid by employee

OCEA shall establish an Employee Recognition Program Committee to work with the City on the planning and conduct of annual employee recognition events. The annual budget for employee recognition events shall be established by the City Council. City shall recognize full-time employees for length of service to the City with a Gift Card to a local business of the employee’s choice. The cash value of the Gift Card shall be $10 for each year of full-time service to the City and shall be awarded at five-year intervals as follows: 5 Years of Service: $50 10 Years of Service: $100 15 Years of Service: $150 20 Years of Service: $200 25 Years of Service: $250 Etc.

Employee Recognition Program. Full time employees who are 55 years of age or older and have a minimum of twenty years of continuous service with the Company and have elected to apply for and receive an OMERS early retirement pension are eligible to receive extended family health care benefits equivalent to MEA Plan A until they reach age 65. Further, in the event the retiree dies while insured under the extended health plan, such benefits will continue for the surviving spouse until the surviving spouse reaches age 65. The Company shall pay 100 percent of the premium cost as covered in Article 19.1.
Employee Recognition Program. A. The Employee Recognition Program is designed to motivate employees and recognize employee contributions with monetary and non-monetary awards. B. There is no entitlement to any monetary or non-monetary award. All awards are subject to budgetary considerations and are made at the discretion of the Employer. Nevertheless, in considering whether or not to grant an award covered by this Article, the Employer will act in a fair and non-discriminatory manner. An employee may grieve the Employer's decision regarding an award covered by this Article in accordance with Article 32 (Grievance), except where such a grievance is expressly excluded by that Article. C. Employees may be nominated for awards at any time, including at the time of their annual performance appraisal. D. The Employer will determine how much of its budget will be allocated to the Employee Recognition Program and how the budgeted amount will be allocated among the Divisions, Offices and Regional Offices. The Employer will determine how much of its budget will be allocated to the Special Act awards for bargaining unit employees as described in Section 2. A. The Employer may grant a Special Act award to an employee in situations in which the employee: • makes a highly exceptional or unusually outstanding contribution that is beyond his/her normal job responsibilities and performance standards; • in the face of unusual obstacles or pressures, displays special skills or initiative in completing assignments before deadlines, or in handling additional assignments while maintaining his/her regular workload; • uses notable initiative or creativity in improving a product, activity, program or service; or • performs a one-time, short-term assignment in an exemplary manner. B. Such awards will be commensurate with the nature of the work and may be in the form of cash or paid time-off. C. A Time-Off Award for a full-time employee will not exceed forty (40) hours for any single event. A full-time employee will not receive Time-Off Awards exceeding eighty (80) hours in any leave year. The preceding numbers will be pro-rated for part-time employees. D. An employee must use a Time-Off Award within one (1) year of the effective date of the award.
