The Project will be performed and constructed by the City of San Diego (“CITY”) with grant assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP). Brown Field Municipal Airport (Airport) is a general aviation facility owned and operated by the City of San Diego (CITY). The scope for the Project includes the following as depicted in the drawing shown below: • Rehabilitation of Runway 8R/26L (3185 ft x 75 ft), not including the blast pads beyond the runway ends. • Rehabilitation of Taxiway G1 between Runway 8R/26L and Taxiway G. • Realignment of Taxiway C between Runway 8R/26L and Taxiway G to be at a 90-degree angle, including demolition of the existing taxiway and construction of the taxiway at the new alignment. This will also include the relocation of associated taxiway edge lights and signage. • Demolition of existing excess pavement outside the shoulders of Taxiway B on both sides of the taxiway, north of Runway 8R/26L. • Demolition of existing narrow strip of pavement between Runway 8R/26L and Runway 8L/26R. • Restriping all impacted pavement. • Restriping the blast pad east of the Runway 26L end. The project area is within and adjacent to environmentally sensitive lands. Therefore, the Project also includes accompanying environmental services. Task 1.3 - Health and Safety Plan Kleinfelder will prepare a Health and Safety Plan tailored to the specific work in this project. The Health and Safety Plan helps identify and mitigate risks to Kleinfelder and City staff. Items in the Health and Safety Plan will include best practices for Kleinfelder staff as it relates to project work and COVID-19 activities. Design Professional will be required to perform all research studies, reviews, and coordination necessary to finalize the design and prepare the plans / specifications using the latest applicable City of San Diego design and construction standards. Design Professional will submit design packages for review at 60%, 100% and Final Design and be required to go through the City’s latest plan check process at 60%, 100%, and Final Design stages (as applicable) to meet all City of San Diego requirements.
