Flex Scheduling. Part-time unit members in positions that are subject to flex scheduling will be guaranteed a specific number of days/hours to be worked within a fiscal year based on the percentage of FTE for the contract assignment. Calculation of total days/hours per fiscal year to be worked shall be based on the industry norm of 2080 (two thousand eighty) hours, which represents the average number of working hours in a year. In any one workday, no unit member shall be required to work fewer than three (3) hours. Eligible holiday hours will be subtracted from the hours to be worked. (See chart in Appendix E.) Unit members subject to flex scheduling will receive their work schedule which shall include days and hours to be worked during the fiscal year no later than thirty (30) calendar days prior to their first day of work in the fiscal year. Changes at other times of the year to the schedule will be made in accordance with provision of Article 5.7 of this Agreement. Unit members will receive equal paychecks each month of their work year.

Flex Scheduling. Bargaining unit employees may be required to flex hours after the start of a work shift based on fluctuating patient census or business volume. The Employer may flex employees after the start of a work shift in the following order: 1) Temporary employees; 2) Employees on overtime; 3) Employees volunteering to flex on a rotating basis; 4) Part time employees by inverse seniority on rotating basis; 5) Full‐time employees by inverse seniority on rotating basis.

Flex Scheduling. All second shift and weekend custodians shall be allowed six (6) hours of flex-time scheduling annually, upon prior approval of the employee’s supervisor, for the purpose of attending District 228 BEST general membership meetings. Flex Scheduling. With prior approval of immediate supervision, regular employees will be allowed flexibility in the starting and quitting times of their scheduled eight (8), ten (10), twelve (12) hour shifts. The purpose of the program is to enable employees to attend to family, medical, community and other needs which may occasionally arise by reporting to work later than scheduled or leaving work earlier than scheduled, and to make up the scheduled time not worked. The program will be administered subject to service requirements of the Company and the following conditions: ▪ An employee who works less than a regular scheduled shift will be paid only for the time actually worked on that shift. ▪ Make-up hours must be worked within the workweek in which a flex schedule is granted. Also, make-up hours shall not be denied once the flextime has been taken off. ▪ Corresponding make-up hours shall be reflected as such in the employee’s time card. ▪ No more than sixteen (16) flex hours will be allowed in any rolling thirty (30) day period. ▪ Make-up hours available but not worked within the workweek will be treated as an unpaid absence and shall be subject to the attendance policy. ▪ Employees may use paid time off as make-up time with supervisory approval. ▪ Make-up hours will be paid at straight time regardless of the shift or day on which they are worked. No grievance will be filed asserting that the program violates any provision of the Labor Agreement, which may conflict or be inconsistent with the program.
Flex Scheduling. The District shall have the right to assign certain employees to a “flex schedule” each school year in accordance with the following: 1. The District shall have the right to determine the number of “flex schedule” positions in the high school and middle school for each school year, but in no event shall the number of postings exceed six (6) in each building. 2. The District shall post up to six (6) positions in the middle school and up to six (6) positions at the high school for each school year. Said positions shall be posted on or before May 15. 3. The District shall be required to accept those applicants who are qualified for the position. Qualified shall be defined as being certified in the particular certification area set forth in the posting. In the event more than one qualified applicant responds to the posting, the District shall have the discretion to select among any or either of the candidates. In the event an insufficient number of qualified applicants respond to the posting to reach the six (6) position per building maximum (or less in accordance with sub-paragraph (1) above), the District shall have the right to involuntarily assign qualified new hires to a flex schedule. In the event an insufficient number of qualified applicants and/or qualified new hires are available to reach the six (6) position per building maximum (or less in accordance with sub-paragraph (1) above), the District shall have the discretion to involuntary assign unit members to a flex schedule (up to six (6) per building in the event no one responds to and/or applies for the flex positions and there are no qualified new hires for the position). 4. Staff members shall be informed of their tentative appointment to said “flex schedule” on or before June 1. If a qualified teacher is hired after June 1 but prior to the opening of the school year, the new hire will be assigned to the “flex schedule” if the current staff member had been involuntarily assigned to a “flex schedule”. In the event such adjustments must be made after June 1, the parties herewith acknowledge that the notice provisions for assignments set forth in the collective bargaining agreement shall be waived. 5. Both the middle school and the high school may establish a flexible day between the hours of 7:30 AM – 3:10 PM to facilitate the above- referenced flex scheduling options for staff. In no event shall the seven (7) hour and fifteen (15) minute workday be exceeded for the purposes of flex scheduling. 6. ...
Flex Scheduling. With employers approval, all hours worked in excess of 7.5 hours in any work day or 37.50 hours in any one week may be flexed if: a) Sick days and holidays, when taken, shall be considered hours worked for the purpose of computing overtime. b) Time and one-half (1½) in addition to holiday pay shall be paid for all hours worked on any of the holidays specified in Article XII, Section 12.0. c) Notwithstanding, the scheduling of the regular work week may be altered by the mutual agreement of the Employer and Employee with the understanding that premium pay will not be paid for hours and days agreed upon to be the regular work week. Employees are required to complete a form supplied by the Health Officer in order to request an altered schedule.
