For Full-Time Employees. (a) Public Holiday On A Scheduled Work Day Employees required to be on duty on any of the aforementioned holidays shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) their regular rate of pay, plus time off with pay equal to the regular hours worked. Such time shall be granted within four (4) weeks before or after the week in which the holiday occurs, or if this is not possible, payment in lieu at their regular rate unless it is mutually agreed between the Employer and Employee to extend the period in which the holiday may be taken. For Full-Time Employees. Employees scheduled to work (40) hours per week, twelve (12) months per fiscal year shall be entitled to eight (8) hours per month for a total of ninety-six (96) hours of sick leave per fiscal year. An employee employed for less than a full fiscal year is entitled to that proportion the number of months of employment bears to 12 months.
For Full-Time Employees. Except as provided in subsection 3 hereof, vacation shall be scheduled by mutual agreement of the employee and the Agency/Department Head. In the event of conflicting requests from employees, the matter shall be decided in favor of the employee having the longest County service in a classification within a vacation scheduling unit. Subsequent vacation requests within the same calendar year shall be resolved in favor of the most senior employee who has not, by virtue of his/her senior position, previously had such a conflict resolved in his/her favor during the calendar year. In the event of vacation schedule conflict among employees, all of whom have, by virtue of their senior position, had such conflicts resolved in their favor during the calendar year, the senior employee who has had the least number of such conflicts resolved in his/her favor shall prevail. When written submission of a vacation request is required pursuant to this subsection 2., the Agency/Department Head shall respond within 30 calendar days in writing or shall schedule the vacation requested by the employee.
For Full-Time Employees a. Holidays not worked by full-time employees shall be compensated at straight time. b. In the event that any employee, by virtue of having worked a holiday, as defined in this section, should work longer than the normal work week as set forth in Section 6.B. of this Memorandum, said employee shall be compensated as provided in Section 7.B. and 7.C. hereof.
For Full-Time Employees. Where an employee wishes to participate on his/her own time in a course of training or education, which is not essential to the performance of his/her duties but which, in the opinion of the Employer, will provide a skill or knowledge of value to the library system, upon approval the Employer will pay one half of the course fee upon registration and the second half upon the employee's successful completion of the course.
