Horizontal Movement on Salary Schedule. The Board will continue its practice under Ohio Revised Code Section 3317.14 of moving a teacher horizontally on the teachers' salary schedule to a higher-rated column, effective with the September 20th pay and thereafter, if satisfactory evidence of completed coursework that justifies the teacher's move to the higher bracket is received by the District Treasurer by the immediately preceding September 15. In addition, the Board will move a teacher horizontally to a higher-rated column, effective with the January 20th pay and thereafter, if satisfactory evidence of completed coursework that justifies the teacher's move to the higher bracket is received by the District Treasurer after the immediately preceding September 15 but on or before January 15.
Horizontal Movement on Salary Schedule. Employees shall be allowed to advance horizontally no more than one lane per year.
Horizontal Movement on Salary Schedule. Horizontal movement on the salary schedule shall be made following compliance with all of the provisions of Section 15.2 of this Agreement and presentation of an official transcript showing satisfactory completion, provided adjustment of salary in any school term shall require an official transcript showing satisfactory completion to be filed with the Superintendent or designee no later than September 30 in the first semester and February 28 in the second semester.
Horizontal Movement on Salary Schedule. Teachers shall receive credit for horizontal movement on the salary schedule for all hours earned at the graduate level subject to the following limitation: All hours of graduate credit on record as of the formal ratification of this Agreement shall be creditable for horizontal movement on the salary schedule. Thereafter, hours of graduate credit subsequently earned through IRI, one (1) day workshops, single weekend courses and other institutions or offerings as may be jointly agreed upon by the Board and Union shall not be creditable for horizontal movement on the salary schedule without the prior approval of the Superintendent up to a maximum of six (6) credit hours unless such credits are being used as elective credits in a graduate degree program offered by the institution granting such credit. Graduate credits to be used for horizontal movement without the prior approval of the Superintendent shall come from a degree granting college/university accredited through the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities, or through another equivalent regional accreditor within the United States. Teachers must receive the prior approval of the Superintendent in order to receive credit for horizontal movement on the salary schedule for all undergraduate level courses, unless such courses are either requested by the District or are used as part of the credits to earn a Master's Degree. Requests for the Superintendent's prior approval for undergraduate courses described above shall be made in writing, no less than thirty (30) days prior to the beginning of the course. Undergraduate course work taken prior to the award of a Master's Degree cannot be used for horizontal movement beyond the Master's Lane. Any dispute over the classification of a course as graduate or undergraduate shall be resolved by the institution granting the credit. Official transcripts must be received by the business office no later than October 1 for the applied lane movement at the beginning of a given year. A teacher shall not be granted credit for horizontal movement on the salary schedule for duplicating course work previously taken by that teacher.
Horizontal Movement on Salary Schedule. Horizontal Movement on the salary schedule can be completed by successful completion of twelve (12) semester hours as documented on a salary advancement plan.
15.4.1 Educators will be granted an annual stipend of $2500 pro-rated by FTE for being bilingual. Bilingual proficiency will be determined by submission to the Human Resources department of a college degree in a foreign country, bilingual certification in any State, and/or an AAPPL exam completion. Languages that will be honored will be those languages reflected in the student population's demands.
16.4.2 Educators will be granted an annual stipend of $2500 pro-rated by FTE for teaching in a Special Education position (Job Code 202). This additional stipend will end immediately if the staff member moves to a non-special education teacher position.
Horizontal Movement on Salary Schedule. 17-1 The following requirements must be met in order for course credits to be used horizontal movement on the salary schedule:
Horizontal Movement on Salary Schedule. Degreed Instructor: Any credits or clock hours which have received prior approval of the Superintendent may be used for horizontal movement on the schedule. Credits and clock hours shall be approved as outlined below. Non-Degreed: Vocational teachers may move horizontally on the salary schedule by earning college credits or by taking industrial or occupational training as outlined below. College courses and industrial or occupational training must be approved by the Superintendent of Schools prior to enrollment. Credits or clock hours earned on school time shall not count for horizontal advancement on the salary schedule. Basic Certification Requirements: Credits or clock hours obtained for the purpose of meeting State Department requirements for the initial five year certificate shall not count for horizontal movement on the schedule.
Horizontal Movement on Salary Schedule. Notification of earned credits must be filed with the Superintendent or designee prior to the commencement of the school term in order to qualify for horizontal movement on the salary schedule. Official transcripts must be filed with the Superintendent or designee by October 1. Coursework must meet the same criteria set out in Section 18.4 “Tuition Reimbursement” to apply toward horizontal movement on the salary schedule.
Horizontal Movement on Salary Schedule. A. For budgeting purposes, teachers must submit, in writing a statement of their intention to advance on the Salary Schedule by February 1 of the year preceding the September or February that advancement will occur.
B. After completion of approved courses or courses which are part of an approved program, transcripts or written documentation should be kept on file in the Superintendent/Director’s Office.
