Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC. The Employer shall recognize one (1) ONA member as a certified worker on the Joint Health and Safety Committee, in addition to the Occupational Health Nurse. When a regular Member of the Committee is not available, she/he may be replaced by an alternate, appointed by the Union.
Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC. The Union shall have a minimum of one representative on the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) appointed for a term of a minimum of two (2) years.
Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC. As a way to maintain safe and healthy working conditions in the workplace, the College and AFSCME agree to establish a campus-wide Joint Health and Safety Committee (“JHSC”) comprised of five (5) representatives each. JHSC shall meet once a month and shall be of an ongoing nature. JHSC may meet as long as there are at least two (2) representatives of the College and two (2) representatives of AFSCME present. Co-chairs who lead meetings of JHSC will be rotated between AFSCME and Management. The existence of the JHSC shall not preclude any employee from raising complaints or grievances regarding unsafe and dangerous working conditions. Written minutes to meetings of the JHSC shall be made available to all bargaining unit members and management representatives within ten (10) working days of the meeting. The Co-Chairs of the JHSC shall rotate once per year. Members of JHSC shall be respectful of others points of view; topics of discussion shall be discussed in a healthy respectful manner. Members present at each meeting shall vote on priorities of issues. When JHSC makes a recommendation, it shall be immediately sent to the Department Head(s) concerned. Within thirty 30 calendar days, the Co-Chair handling the reported issue will follow up with the appropriate Department Head once every thirty (30) days and report progress at the next JHSC meeting. The appropriate Department Head will be invited to attend the next appropriate meeting to discuss outstanding health and safety issues. If the Department Head does not come to the JHSC, then the Department Head shall provide a written status report regarding resolution of the problem.
Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC. The Employer will have a Joint Health and Safety Committee in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The Committee shall include at least two (2) worker representatives selected by the Union from amongst the employees in the bargaining unit, and worker representatives shall suffer no loss of pay for attendance at such meetings. The Joint Health and Safety Committee will establish its own policies and procedures for the attendance of other persons or resources at its meetings.
Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC. The composition of the JHSC will be determined in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The JHSC will meet at least quarterly to ensure that all health and safety concerns are managed in an appropriate fashion and will communicate to all staff members regarding workplace hazards, safety measures, safe work procedures and all safety compliance information as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations.
Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC. The Parties will establish a Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), made up of two (2) representatives (and alternates) of the Union, two representatives from the USW bargaining unit, and three (3) representatives of the Federation. The JHSC shall establish its own terms of reference and meeting schedule that meets the needs in the workplace and in compliance with applicable regulation and law.
Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC. The Parties agree to establish a Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), which shall consider issues relating to the health and safety of Employees. The responsibilities of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) include regular meetings; safety inspections; hazard identification, reporting and controls, including working alone, and recommendations for improved workplace safety.
Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC. (a) A Joint Health and Safety Committee shall be established and comprising of two (2) representatives of the Employer and two (2) representatives of the Union. One (1) Employer representative and one (1) Union representative of the JHSC will be certified. The powers and responsibilities of Certified Representatives will be in accordance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (R.S.O. 1990).
(b) Two (2) co-chairpersons shall be selected by the members of the JHSC. One (1) co-chair shall be a representative of the Employer and will be selected from the Employer JHSC representatives. One (1) co-chair shall be a representative of the Union and will be selected from the Union JHSC representatives.
(c) The JHSC shall meet every other month and meetings will be held during regular working hours. Minutes of all meetings shall be kept, maintained and signed by the co-chairs. Copies of all such minutes will be provided to all members of the JHSC. Copies of all minutes will be posted in every workplace. Administrative support to the JHSC will be provided by the Employer.
(d) The powers of the Joint Health and Safety Committee will be in accordance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (R.S.O. 1990).
Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC. The Employer and the Union agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of safety and health in the South East Community Care Access Centre offices in order to prevent accidents, injury and illness.
(a) A Joint Health and Safety Committee(s) will be established under the Occupational Health and Safety Act which will include one (1) ONA representative from each of the Kingston, Belleville, Brockville and Smiths Falls sites and such other ONA members who may be necessary from time to time.
(b) Such Committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards; institute means of improving health and safety programmes and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to safety and health.
(c) The Committee will be provided all necessary information to enable them to fulfil their functions.
(d) Meetings shall be held every third month or more frequently at the call of the Chair, if required. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review.
(e) Any representative appointed or selected in accordance with (a) hereof shall serve for a term of at least one (1) calendar year from the date of appointment. Time off for such representative(s) to attend meetings or carry out duties during their regularly scheduled hours of work of the Joint Health and Safety Committee in accordance with the foregoing, shall not lose regular earnings as a result of such meetings or duties and inspections.
(f) The Union agrees to endeavour to obtain the full co-operation of its membership in the observance of all safety rules and practices.
(g) Where the Employer identifies high risk areas where employees are exposed to infectious or communicable diseases for which there are available protective equipment or medications, such equipment and medications shall be provided at no cost to the employees.
Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC. (a) (i) In Calgary the Union shall elect or appoint four (4) Union members to serve on the JHSC; the intention is to try to have one (1) representative from each department if possible.
