Leave, Sick. Eligible members are entitled to disability benefits as defined under the Salary Continuance Plan, Article 12.5. Members hired on a term or part-time basis, who are not included under the provisions of the Salary Continuance Plan are entitled to an allowance of one and one-quarter (1.25) days sick leave per month of employment. The allowance is cumulative and is prorated for part-time employees.
Leave, Sick. A. The amount of sick leave credited to an employee shall be fifteen (15) days per year with no limitation on the amount of accumulation. Sick leave is credited at the rate of one and one- fourth (1 ¼) days per month, including the summer months between school sessions. Beginning employees who are new to the district and have no sick leave or other employees who have exhausted their sick leave will be eligible for up to five (5) days of sick leave at the beginning of the year, but such advanced sick leave will be charged to any subsequent accumulation. This is to assure that employees be paid up to at least five (5) days each year for sick leave. Sick days can be taken in half-day and full-day increments only. A half-day is anything up to three and three-fourths (3 ¾) hours, including lunch and planning time. A full-day is anything over three and three-fourths (3 ¾) hours.
Leave, Sick. 35.01 Regular full-time employees will receive one and one-half (1 ½ ) working days sick leave credit for each month of paid service.
Leave, Sick. 6 When a Resident is unable to work due to illness or injury and certain criteria are met, 7 paid sick time off shall be available. It is in the parties’ mutual interest that Residents are 8 both encouraged and supported by their programs and colleagues to not work when 9 acutely ill.

Leave, Sick. (2015) Sick leave may be used only when personal illness or physical incapacity renders an employee unable to perform the duties of the employee’s position. Accrued sick leave may be used for health care provider and dental appointments. The scheduling of such time will be with the approval of the supervisor. Approval or denial shall be based upon operational considerations only. Employees assigned to a 37.5-hour workweek shall earn sick leave at a rate of 3.5 hours bi-weekly. Employees assigned to a 40-hour workweek shall earn sick leave at a rate of 3.7 hours bi-weekly. In the case of permanent part-time employees, sick leave will be accrued proportionately to hours worked during the bi-weekly period. Sick leave will accrue on the last day of each bi-weekly period worked. Entering and terminating employees will accrue sick leave proportionately to the total hours worked during the bi-weekly period.

Members (excluding casual appointments) who are currently employed, turn age 67 and are no longer eligible to receive Salary Continuance coverage will be entitled to fifteen (15) days of paid sick leave per year (prorated for part-time employees). The allotment of fifteen (15) days will be provided on the 1st of the month after turning age 67. Thereafter, on an annual basis, the allotment will be restored to fifteen (15) days on May 1. Members (excluding casual appointments) who are hired at age 67 or greater are not eligible to receive Salary Continuance. These members will be entitled to fifteen (15) days of paid sick leave per year (prorated for part-time employees). On an annual basis, the allotment will be restored to fifteen (15) days on May 1. Sick leave provides income replacement for brief and intermittent absences due to illness, injury and/or receipt of treatment, including (but not limited to) traditional Indigenous healing practices.
Leave, Sick. At the end of the temporary vacancy, if the employee returns to casual status, any accrued sick bank hours will remain frozen until the employee successfully bids into a temporary vacancy, or regular position which entitles them to sick leave.
