Other Union Leaves. 17.05.01 a) A teacher who has been elected or appointed to an office with the provincial executive of OSSTF shall be granted a leave of absence for up to two (2) consecutive terms of office without salary, benefits or other entitlements provided written notice has been given to the Director of Education on or before March 31st in the school year preceding the commencement of the leave.

Other Union Leaves. When an employee is elected or appointed to a full-time position or office within a municipal, Provincial or Federal labour organization with which the Union is affiliated, the Union shall submit a request for leave of absence on behalf of the Employee concerned to the Superintendent of Human Resources & Employee Relations. Such leave of absence shall be granted, provided that such leave involves no cost to the Board and provided further that upon expiration of the term of office, the Employee shall be returned to their former position, or to a comparable position if such position does not exist.

A teacher returning from a provincial Union leave shall so notify the Director of Education in writing on or before March 31" in the school year preceding the return to teaching duty. On return from Union leave, a teacher shall return to school in a position similar to that held at the commencement of the leave and subject to provisions.   • Association Leaves 1. The Board will provide the Association President or their designee with forty (40) days of paid release time during the course of the school year in order to conduct Association Business. The Association shall reimburse the Board for the cost of any substitute required as the result of any such released time which exceeds forty (40) days during the course of the school year.

  • Union Leaves of Absence In support of the Partnership relationship, upon request, the Employer will grant time off to employees for official union business as long as the number of employees absent for union business does not impose an unreasonable burden on the Employer and the Employer receives reasonable notice. Union leaves will be defined according to the following: Short-Term Leaves are defined as leaves up to 30 days. Employees will continue to accrue seniority, service credit and benefits during the time of the absence, at the expense of the Employer. The impact of multiple short-term leaves on the operations must be considered. Long-Term Leaves are defined as leaves of absence for more than 30 days and up to a maximum of one year. Such leaves will be granted by the Employer in increments of three months and shall be jointly reviewed, on a periodic basis, at the regional level. Seniority, service credit, credited service and health, dental and life insurance benefits will continue during the leave as long as the union reimburses Xxxxxx Permanente for the associated costs.

  • Professional Leaves 1. Professional Leaves are to be used by an employee to gain knowledge for the position contracted through Bath Local Schools. The employee must request Professional Leave through the employee kiosk. Upon approval, the employee may be permitted to attend the Professional Meeting and will be paid at the regular rate.

  • Negotiation Leave The Employer shall allow two (2) employees time off without pay for the purpose of attending negotiations for the renewal of the Collective Agreement.

  • Full-Time Union Leave Any employee who is selected to a full time union position will be granted a leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority to fill the term of office. The employee shall be allowed to continue with all benefit plans and shall pay the full premiums of these plans. The term can be extended by mutual agreement.
