Provincial Union Leave a) A teacher who has been elected or appointed to an office with the provincial executive of ETFO shall be granted a leave of absence for the duration of his/her election or appointment without salary, benefits or other entitlements provided written notice has been given to the Director of Education within five (5) days of the election or appointment.
Provincial Union Leave. The Board shall grant a Bargaining Unit member elected or appointed to a Union position at OSSTF Provincial Office, a full-time leave of absence with or without pay for a period of up to three (3) terms. In the event of a leave with pay, OSSTF shall reimburse the Board for such leave for 100% of the employee’s pay and benefits for the duration of the leave. The Union shall be responsible for any WSIB costs related to injuries which occur during the period of the leave.

On completion of the employee's term of office, the President or First Vice-president may return to their previous employment and service shall be deemed to be continuous for all purposes.Any extending beyond the initial of office of the President or First Vice-president shall be a matter to be determined between the parties and any such additional leave shall be subject to the same conditions and terms as prevailed in the initial Local Union Leaves Upon at leastfourteen (14) days' written notice by the Union, without pay but with no loss of credits shall be granted for not more than four (4) consecutive days for each employee delegate for the purpose of attending the Annual Convention.

At the end of the leave, the shall advise the Board whether the employee has any unused vacation for reimbursement shall reimburse the Board for any unused portion of the employee’s unused sick leave entitlement to be credited to the employee’s sick leave account. Where the leave is for less than a work year, the sick leave entitlement to be taken or shall be prorated. At the end of the leave period, shall advise the Board whether the union will be purchasing any unused sick leave credits. The Union shall be responsible for any costs related to injuries occur during the period of the leave.

  • Union Leave Leave of absence for Union business shall be given without pay up to a maximum of (as per the local provisions under L19) days per calendar year provided such leave does not interfere with the continuance of efficient operation of the Hospital.
