OVERTIME RATES AND CONDITIONS. (1) (a) Any work performed by an employee in excess of eight (8) hours at a stretch in any day of his regular work week shall be paid for at the rate to time and one-half. Any work done on Saturday will also be paid for at time and one-half. In the case of an employee who is on an authorized union business leave of absence, or has time off as outlined in Article IV, Section 2 (1)(b), or has time off as outlined in Article IV, Section 3, the time spent on such leave will be considered as time worked for the purpose only of determining entitlement to the overtime rate for work performed in excess of the eight (8) hours at a stretch on such regularly scheduled shift.

Employees who are absent for any rea- son or who do not request to work the available overtime, and by the level of their overtime would have been selected to work the available overtime, shall be credited with the overtime hours worked. Any employee who acquires seniority or who changes job classifications shall be credited with the highest overtime stand- ing of their classification at that time. All authorized overtime shall be calculat- ed in fifteen (15) minute segments. Any employee who is available for over- time will be required to identify their availability by inputting their clock num- ber into the overtime system as directed by the Company. Any employee who fails to make such an input, will be subject to assignment of hours, if they would have been eligible due to the level of their total hours, at the time of availability. Employees who are selected for over- time and fail to work shall be charged double the assignment of hours.
