Part-Time Teaching. A member of the bargaining unit may, with the prior approval of his/her department head, engage in part-time teaching during his/her normal work hours and be paid for such duties. Time spent on limited service teaching duties shall not count toward the forty (40)-hour schedule referenced in Article 16.1.

Part-Time Teaching. L29.1 Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, Part-time Teachers shall attend school functions and staff meetings on the same basis as Teachers teaching full-time. The obligation to attend Professional Development shall be prorated for Part- time Teachers. L29.2 A Teacher may request an assignment as a Part-time Teacher. L29.3 A Teacher who requests and is granted an assignment as a Part-time Teacher for a specified period will return to full-time teaching at the end of the period subject to the surplus procedures.
Part-Time Teaching. 1. A teacher with a continuing full-time appointment to the teaching staff of the district may without prejudice to that appointment request a part-time assignment, specifying the fraction of time requested, and the length of time for which the part-time assignment is requested. 2. When the request under Article C.28.1 is granted by the Board, the teacher shall be on leave of absence status in respect of the balance of the full-time appointment and shall be entitled to return to a similar full-time assignment at the expiration of the period of time for which the Board has made the part-time assignment. The teacher may request a return to a full-time assignment at an earlier date or may extend the period of the part-time teaching, subject to agreement with the Board provided that thirty (30) days notice has been given to the Superintendent of Schools. 3. A teacher with a part-time appointment may, without prejudice to that appointment, request a full-time appointment, and shall have rights to such appointment as are contained in this Agreement, or may request an additional specified part-time appointment for a specified length of time.
Part-Time Teaching a. Part-time teaching experience shall be added together to equate to one (1) year’s experience which shall be the equivalent of ten (10) months’ full-time teaching experience. b. Experience for part-time teaching shall be recognized according to the exact amount of time taught (20% teaching time for an entire school year shall equate to two (2) months’ experience).
Part-Time Teaching. 1. A teacher with a continuing full-time appointment to the teaching staff of the District may, without prejudice to that appointment, request a part-time assignment, specifying the fraction of time requested and the length of time for which the part-time assignment is requested. The Board reserves the right to refuse such a request if, in its judgment, such a time reduction is detrimental to the school's program. 2. When a request under Article C.23.1 is granted by the Board, the teacher shall be deemed to be on leave of absence status in respect of the balance of the full-time appointment; and shall be entitled to return to a similar full-time assignment, although not necessarily in the same school, at the expiration of that period of time for which the Board has made the part-time assignment. The teacher may return to a full-time assignment at an earlier date or may extend the period of part-time teacher, by agreement with the Board. 3. A teacher with a continuing part-time appointment may, without prejudice to that appointment, request an additional temporary part- time appointment for a specified fraction of time. 4. Two teachers employed by the Board may jointly request a specified job sharing assignment of a single full time position.
Part-Time Teaching. Section 1. Full-time members of the bargaining unit may reduce their status to part-time pursuant to the following provisions: 1. Application to transfer to part-time status must be made prior to April 1. 2. The Board shall make every effort to accommodate the request. 3. Depending on the availability of part-time positions, teachers in part-time status shall remain in that status from year to year. Part-time teachers may transfer back to full-time by making application to do so by April 1. 4. Transfer from part-time to full-time status shall be determined by the availability of vacancies which exist after the normal transfer process for full-time teachers has occurred. 5. Ranking of applicants pursuant to Sections 1.1 and 1.3 shall be according to the provisions of Article 14, Section 2 (voluntary transfer). 6. Salaries and benefits for part-time teachers shall be proportionate to those of full-time teachers with the same preparation and experience. 7. The Board shall not hire a part-time employee from outside the bargaining unit unless there is no full-time employee available who seeks and is qualified to fill the part-time position. 8. Teachers working part of a school year shall be notified of their replacements at least two weeks prior to the change. The period of paid service shall overlap by three (3) school days in order to provide for a smooth transition.
Part-Time Teaching. This Article is subject to Part A, Letter of Agreement #22 39.01 A Teacher seeking a leave for purposes of part-time teaching shall submit an application to the Director of Education with a copy to his/her Principal by March 1st. The Principal shall forward the application with a recommendation to the Director of 39.02 Approval is at the discretion of the Director. 39.03 The applicant will be advised of the Director’s decision on or before April 15th. 39.04 The Teacher’s salary and sick leave credits shall be pro-rated to what would have been received as a full-time Teacher (e.g. A half-time Teacher receives 50% of salary, etc.). 39.05 Upon returning to full-time teaching, the Board shall endeavour to assign the Teacher to his/her former school. If the employee held a position of responsibility, the Board shall endeavour to assign the employee to his/her former position of responsibility provided that it still exists. 39.06 A Teacher will accumulate a full year’s credit on the seniority list for each year in the plan, up to a maximum of two (2) years. 39.07 A Teacher who participates in the plan shall automatically revert to a full-time Teacher after one year unless an application to continue in the plan is approved by the Board. 39.08 Upon returning to full-time or continuing in the plan for another year, the Teacher’s teaching experience for the purposes of calculating increment shall be prorated for each year in the plan in accordance with Article 9.04.
Part-Time Teaching a. The Superintendent shall evaluate the value of part-time teaching experience upon information furnished by the teacher and validated as deemed necessary by the Superintendent. b. The salary of a part-time teacher shall be computed on the basis of the ratio between the clock hours employed and the full teaching day of an elementary or secondary teacher, as the case may be, as determined by the Superintendent and the Association President. c. Fringe benefits for part-time teachers, including earned Leave Days and insurance, and other benefits as may be allowed by the Board, shall be pro-rated upon the same basis as is the teacher's salary. The teacher shall be privileged to pay the difference in cost between the full cost and pro rata cost of any such benefits.
