Sick Leave Upon Retirement Clause Samples
The "Sick Leave Upon Retirement" clause defines how unused sick leave is handled when an employee retires. Typically, this clause outlines whether accumulated sick leave can be converted into a cash payout, credited towards additional service time for pension calculations, or simply forfeited. For example, an employee with unused sick days at retirement might receive a lump sum payment or have those days added to their years of service for retirement benefits. The core function of this clause is to clarify the treatment of accrued sick leave at retirement, ensuring both the employer and employee understand the benefits or limitations associated with unused sick time.
