Staff Openings. A vacancy is an open position as a result of a transfer, resignation, leave, creation of a new position, or any other condition that causes a staff position to be unassigned, and which the Superintendent has determined to assign.

Staff Openings. A. Staff openings will be announced by the Superintendent to the present staff through one of the following methods: 1. Inter-school mailings; 2. Bulletins, or; 3. Postal mailings to Association President during the summer months and other vacation Periods. Employees wishing notification during summer months shall notify the Superintendent's office prior to year end closing of school. B. All presently employed teachers shall be given written notice of their tentative assignment for the coming year prior to the close of the school year. It is the sole discretion of the Board to change assignments at any time.
Staff Openings. Promotions (a) Vacancies in positions within the bargaining unit shall be posted for a period of seven calendar days on the bulletin boards located outside the cafeteria and in the Pavilion lounge. A copy shall be sent to each nursing unit for informational purposes only. Any nurse interested in a vacancy must make written application to the Nursing Office within such period. When ability, experience and educational background are relatively equal, seniority shall be the determining factor in filling the vacancy. (b) Notwithstanding the above, when one or more shifts per week are vacant, or may become vacant through the Hospital’s conditional approval of a nurse’s request to permanently drop one or more shifts per week, the Hospital may post single shift openings on the unit with the vacancy or change, for bidding by nurses already holding hours on that unit. Bids on these internal postings are limited to the award of only one shift per week per nurse, which shall be awarded by seniority. (c) If there are no successful bidders for the position after the posting period, the Hospital shall be free to fill the position in any manner it wishes; however, the Hospital shall continue to post the position as long as the vacancy exists for informational purposes. (d) When an award of a position is made pursuant to the bidding procedure, the Hospital shall post that fact for a period of five days and shall notify the Association’s Membership Coordinator. (e) Nurses who have been employed by the Hospital for less than six months are not eligible to bid on vacancies in positions within the bargaining unit. A nurse who has successfully bid on a position within the bargaining unit may not bid on another position for a period of six months. (f) Nurses who leave their permanent position to take a temporary position elsewhere shall have the right to their own permanent positions back after the temporary position has ended. This right shall not be extended to any nurse who may fill on a temporary basis the permanent position thus vacated. (g) Bids to transfer to another bargaining unit position pursuant to Section 9.9(a) may be deferred if, in the judgment of the Nurse Manager of the unit, the nurse wishes to leave, such approval will leave the unit inadequately staffed or a replacement is not readily available. Staff Openings. 20.01 A vacancy is an open position as a result of a transfer, resignation, leave, creation of a new position, or any other condition that causes a staff position to be unassigned, and which the Superintendent has determined to assign. 20.02 A vacancy shall include administrative, teaching, supplemental and non- certificated positions. 20.03 The Superintendent shall cause a vacancy notice to be posted when it becomes obvious that a vacancy will need to be filled. 20.04 Alteration of specific class assignments does not constitute a vacancy. 20.05 During the school year, all vacancy notifications will be placed in each staff members’ mailbox. Vacancy notifications will be mailed to anyone on the “recall” list.

  • Job Openings The District shall be considered to be engaged in the procedure to fill the position on the posting date of the position(s). Posting shall occur within fifteen (15) working days after Executive Vice Chancellor of Human Resources approval. If the District is unable to post the position within fifteen (15) days or fill the position within the ninety (90) day period, the District will meet and confer with CSEA. Substitute employees may not work more than ninety (90) calendar days in a substitute assignment while the District is engaged in a procedure to fill the vacant permanent position. Should a position be vacated through retirement, resignation or any other reason the District agrees that the position will not be filled by any person(s) for more than one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days excluding temporary upgrades of bargaining unit members. 17.5.1 Unit employees shall be given consideration for reassignment to a higher classification when their training and ability demonstrate that they are qualified for such reassignment. The District will prepare vacancy lists as new openings are announced. Each vacancy shall be assigned a reference number. This reference number shall be used on the Board docket as a method of identifying the position being filled. Vacancy lists will be distributed via e-mail to unit employees, CSEA, posted on designated bulletin boards and the district website. Individual job announcements will be prepared separately and made available to interested employees upon request. 17.5.1.1 Where a pool of qualified applicants for a position existed from a recruitment conducted within the six (6) months preceding the new opening, that pool may be used for the new opening in the same classification. This does not preclude existing unit employees from applying for openings per Article 17.2.2. All new openings shall be internally advertised. 17.5.2 A permanent unit employee who acquires probationary status as the result of job openings or recruitment shall retain permanent status in his former classification until completion of the probationary period in the new classification. In the event that the probationary period in the new classification is not successful, the employee shall revert to his former classification with all the previous rights and privileges. 17.5.3 Unit employee applicants shall be furnished notification of time and date of scheduled interviews a minimum of five (5) days prior to such interviews. 17.5.4 Job openings - Unit employees hired into permanent positions must meet minimum qualifications. 17.5.5 Short-term or substitute employees must meet the minimum qualifications for the classification under which they are employed.
