TEACHER SCHEDULES. A. Every effort will be made to notify Contract Teachers of their tentative assignment or teaching schedule for the ensuing year at least thirty (30) business days prior to the start of their assignment or teaching schedule.
B. In order to assure that students are taught by teachers working within their areas of greatest competence, teachers shall not be assigned, except in accordance with the regulations of the Colorado Community College System, and for good cause shown, to subjects and or other classes outside the scope of their teaching certificates and their major or minor fields of study and credential.
C. In arranging schedules for teachers who are assigned to more than one building, an effort shall be made to limit the amount of travel. Teachers affected shall be provided a minimum of seven (7) business days notice of any change in their schedules unless special circumstances exist as determined by the Executive Director.
D. Teacher schedules shall be made without regard to race, religion, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, or marital status.
E. Teachers and administrators in each department will cooperatively develop teachers' schedule assignments for each school year. In making schedule assignment, teachers' endorsements, seniority, appraisal/job performance, current industry skills and student ratings shall be given consideration. Teachers may be required to demonstrate proficiency of current industry skills. If a teacher is not satisfied with the assigned schedule, the Executive Director person and the Federation president or their representatives will attempt to find a mutually satisfactory solution. The Executive Director has final determination in developing teachers' assigned schedules. Teachers are responsible for maintaining a current and valid industry license if required, and an initial or professional CTE credential in order to continue teaching. The following restrictions apply to teacher assignments:
1. Teachers shall not be expected to work more than ten (10) student contact hours in a day, unless approved by the Executive Director.
2. Teachers assigned a work day longer than eight (8) student contact hours shall not be expected to work more than two (2) days per week which are longer than the customary regular school day, unless approved by the Executive Director.
TEACHER SCHEDULES. A. Except under unusual circumstances teachers will be notified no later than July 31st of any change in their programs and schedules for the ensuing school year. This includes the school to which they are assigned, the grades and/or subject that they will teach, their tentative classroom assignment, and any special or unusual courses or assignments that they will have. Except under unusual circumstances teachers will be notified no later than August 15th of their duty schedule and of the dates and times of the quarterly faculty meetings for the ensuing school year. Building teaching and duty schedules will be made available for review by the BTA president, or their representative two weeks prior to their distribution to the faculty.
B. In arranging schedules for teachers who are assigned to more than one school, an effort shall be made to limit the amount of inter-school travel. Such teachers shall be notified of any change in their schedules as soon as practicable. They will be reimbursed for any daily inter-school travel at the prevailing federal rate as adjusted by the Federal Government from time to time per mile based on the mileage charge below: Round Trip One Way Xxxxxx X. C. Teacher assignments and transfers shall be made without regard to age, creed, color, religion, nationality, sex, disability, sexual orientation or marital status.

TEACHER SCHEDULES. A. Teachers shall be notified of any change in programs, grades or subjects to be taught in the ensuing school year before the end of the current school year. Other detailed information such as precise schedules and/or room assignments shall be made known no later than July 31 of each year.
B. In the event of a change in circumstances or conditions subsequent to the stipulated date, teacher assignments may be changed to meet the requirements of the new situation. A written explanation of the emergency circumstances will accompany notification of such a change and will be made to the teacher involved as soon as possible.
C. Special subjects (except Band, Title 1, Speech and Learning Disabilities class schedules) for all students K-8 shall be written into schedules and will become effective the first day of school.

C. Teachers shall be notified in writing and/or electronically of the following year’s tentative schedule as soon as it is approved, but in no case later than the close of the school year. If substantive changes are made in the schedule, the teacher must be notified by August 15.
D. Course preference sheets shall be submitted to all high school teachers, filled out, and returned (at the high school) to department heads, with recommendations to principals and the superintendent to be considered in teacher scheduling.
E. At the middle school, grade preference sheets shall be submitted to the principal on or about May 1st of every school year. Teacher grade preferences shall be reviewed and given serious consideration before any changes are made. The Association and the Committee recognize that in order for middle school teaching teams to become effective and develop their full potential, team membership must be maintained and teachers need to work together as a team for a minimum of three years. Therefore, team membership may be changed no more frequently than every three years unless mutually agreed upon by the teacher(s) and administrator(s).
F. Schedules for elementary special area teachers will provide passing time between classes.

TEACHER SCHEDULES. The work year for Teachers as defined by State Law, is that Teachers are regularly employed from September 1 to June 30. Teachers may be assigned duties consistent with their assignment at any time during this time period by the Superintendent of Schools. Present staff members are to be recommended for teaching and non-teaching assignments for their area (grade levels, departments) to the Building Principal for the next school year. The Building Principal is to recommend a master schedule for the next school year to the Superintendent of School. The Superintendent of Schools will construct, on a tentative basis, all teaching and non-teaching assignments in the schools of the district following receipt of these recommendations. Teachers shall be notified of their tentative program, schedule of grade level assignments for the ensuing year as soon as the master schedule is prepared. In addition, they will be notified of any changes in their tentative program, schedule or grade level assignment for the ensuing year, including the schools to which they will be assigned as soon as practicable.
