UNION ACTIVITIES AND SECURITY. SECTION 1. Membership in the Union is not compulsory. All employees have the right to join, not join, maintain or drop their membership in the Union as they see fit. As a condition of continued employment, all employees included in the collective bargaining unit shall, within sixty (60) days after the execution of this Agreement, or the completion of their probationary period, whichever is later, either become members of the Union and pay to the Union the periodic monthly dues and initiation fees uniformly required of all members, or pay to the Union a service fee equal to the pro rata costs of negotiating and administering this Agreement, which shall not exceed the Union’s periodic monthly dues. Service fees shall be established periodically in accordance with legally established procedures therefore, the Union shall annually submit to the Employer an affidavit setting forth (a) the amount of the service fee for that year, (b) representations that the service fee does not include any amounts which are not constitutionally chargeable to non-members, (c) representations that the Union has fully complied with all of the legal and constitutional procedures for protecting payers of service fees or fair share fees, and (d) representations that the affidavit is intended to be relied upon by the Employer and that the Union agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Employer and its officers, agents, and employees from and against any and all claims, demands, suits, liability, and inaction taken by the Employer in reliance on the affidavit. Copies of all service fee procedures, notices, and disclosures relating to the bargaining unit shall be provided to bargaining unit employees at least sixty (60) days before collection of service fees from such employees. Failure to provide the affidavit or other specific materials in timely fashion will suspend the obligation of any non-member of the Union to pay any service fees as a condition of employment, and will suspend the Employer obligation to withhold or pay amounts on behalf of non-members under Section 2.2. Service fees shall not include initiation fees or special assessments of any kind. UNION ACTIVITIES AND SECURITY. 4.1 The Company recognizes Unifor as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for all employees in the bargaining unit except those covered by the act. All employees in the bargaining unit shall be members of Unifor. 4.2 The Employer shall deduct from each Bargaining Unit member, an amount equal to the regular Union dues as established by the Union. The dues are based on the gross monthly earnings, including overtime, beginning with the date of hire in the Bargaining Unit. The Employer will be notified by Registered Mail at least one (1) month in advance of any changes in the present rate of deduction. 4.2.1 The Employer agrees to remit the monies so deducted to the nominee of the President of the Union bi-weekly by wire transfer. The Employer, when remitting such dues, shall name the employees from whom deductions have been made, the respective amounts deducted and the names of the employees within the bargaining unit whom have left or joined the Employer since the last payment. 4.2.2 When the Income Tax T-4 slips are made available, the Employer shall include, on the slip, the amount of Union dues paid by each Bargaining Unit member in the previous year. 4.2.3 The Union shall indemnify the Employer and save it harmless from any and all claims which may be made against the Employer by an employee or employees for amounts deducted from wages as provided by this Article. 4.2.4 All remittances made to the Union pursuant to this Article shall be applied towards payment of the dues of the employee from who the deduction was made and for no other purpose. 4.3 The employer shall notify, in writing, the acting Senior Executive of the Local Union, or his designee, with a copy to the Regional Office of the Union, of the following information: (a) A list of employees showing their name and current salaries once per year, ranked according to seniority; (b) salaries and job classifications of new hires; (c) information relating to pension and medical plans; (d) promotions, demotions and transfers; for all employees within the Bargaining Unit on a current basis. (e) Employees address and telephone numbers (for new hires as well). (f) Job Postings (g) Confirmation or extension of probationary periods 4.4 The Union may post, on bulletin boards supplied by the Employer, notice of Union meetings, social affairs, or any business matters of the Union provided that such postings are not offensive or derogatory. The Employer agrees to inform new employees, before hiring, that CEP is the certified Bargaining Agent and at the same time, to show each new employee a copy of the individual wage scales applicable to job function which he will perform. 4.2 The Employer shall deduct from each Bargaining Unit member, an amount equal to the regular Union dues as established by the Union. The dues are to be based on the gross monthly earnings, including overtime, beginning with the date of hire in the Bargaining Unit. UNION ACTIVITIES AND SECURITY. SECTION 1. Employees shall have the right to join the Union, to engage in lawful concerted activities for the purposes of collective negotiation or bargaining or other mutual aid and protection, to express or communicate in a lawful manner any view, grievance or complaint related to the conditions or compensation of public employment or their betterment, all free from any and all restraint, in~erference, coercion, discrimination or reprisal, so long as the same does not interfere with the full, faithful and proper performance of the duties of employment. (a) The City will deduct the amount of the Union's uniform monthly dues from the wages of any Employee who makes a written authorization thereof and gives the same to the City. Such dues will be deducted from the Employee's paycheck of each pay period and be promptly remitted to the designated official of the Union. (b) The City shall not be liable for the remittance or payment of any sums other than those constituting actual deductions made; and if for any reason it fails to make a deduction for any Employee as above provided, it shall make the deduction from the Employee's next pay in which such deduction is normally deducted after the error has been called to the City's attention by the Employee or the Union. SECTION 3. The Union in Contract negotiations may be represented by up to three (3) individuals, who may be either on or off-duty Employees or other non-employee representatives.

  • Union Activities If the Contract Amount is $50,000 or more, no Judicial Council funds received under this Agreement will be used to assist, promote or deter union organizing during the term of this Agreement (including any extension or renewal term).

  • Facilities and Services The Company shall furnish the Executive with office space, secretarial and support staff, and such other facilities and services as shall be reasonably necessary for the performance of his duties under this Agreement.

  • Union Activities Restrictions If the Contract Amount is over $50,000, this section is applicable. Contractor agrees that no JBE funds received under this Agreement will be used to assist, promote or deter union organizing during the Term. If Contractor incurs costs, or makes expenditures to assist, promote or deter union organizing, Contractor will maintain records sufficient to show that no JBE funds were used for those expenditures. Contractor will provide those records to the Attorney General upon request.

  • Union Activity Each employee shall have the right to join and while off work or on official release time, assist the Union freely, without fear of penalty or reprisal, and the Employer shall assure that each employee shall be protected in the exercise of such right.
