Union Administrative Committee. The Employer acknowledges and recognizes the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a Committee comprised of not more than six (6) persons, which committee shall be called the Union Administrative Committee, one of whose members shall be the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, who are authorized to represent the employees from time to time in discussions and dealings with the Employer in connection with matters which may properly arise out of the administration of this Agreement. The Union agrees to notify the Employer in writing of the names of the members of the Committee and of any changes therein.

The Board agrees that the Union Committee will be allowed reasonable time from regular duties to perform the work of the Committee. Health and Safety issues will be discussed at Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings. Ministry of Labour inspection reports will be issued to the Joint Health and Safety Committee. When employees are absent from work to perform duties authorized under the Joint Health and Safety Committee Guidelines, the Board will cover the absent employee's job duties through replacement and/or overtime for up to sixteen (16) hours per day (in total) provided that the Union gives the Board not less than five (5)working days advance notice of such absences. All activities of the Joint Health and Safety Committee will be governed as per the agreed Guidelinesestablished by the Joint Health and Safety Committee under the Health and Safety Act. If the employer is considering the introduction of technology which would have significant impact on the nature and number of positions occupied by members of the bargaining unit, the employer agrees to notify the Union via the Committee. The employer agrees to notify the Union as far as possible in advance of the introduction of technological change, to provide a description of the change it intends to implement, and to disclose all foreseeable implications for employees of the bargaining unit.

(a) A ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ may be permitted by her supervisor during working hours to leave her post to investigate complaints and/or grievances. The Employer shall pay the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ their respective wages for all time lost from regularly scheduled hours investigating and/or processing grievances. Such persons will not leave their regular duties without notifying their immediate supervisor and will report back to the supervisor when they return to their regular duties. Such consent shall not be unreasonably withheld by the supervisor. Union Stewards shall be paid for all time spent in a grievance meeting that occurs during their regularly scheduled hours and such payment will include up to and including any grievance mediation. All time paid shall be considered time worked. If a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ needs to have a replacement for an evening or night shift, because of the time of day in which the meeting must take place and/or duration of a meeting, the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will be paid for the shift that has been replaced.
(b) All discipline, except verbal warning, will be given in writing. Both the employee and the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will be given a copy. If an employee is to be called in by the Employer to discuss a matter that involves progressive discipline, she shall be so advised prior to entering meeting. Unless the employee wishes otherwise, she shall be accompanied by a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ who shall attend the meeting without any loss of wages. Where more than one ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is on the premises, the employee shall be accompanied by a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ of her choosing.
(c) Disciplinary meetings shall take place during the employee’s scheduled shift unless, due to the nature of the infraction, the Employer deems it necessary to take immediate action or no union representation is available.
(d) The employee and the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall be allowed to meet for a reasonable period of time in private during or after the meeting if requested by either party.

7.02 The Corporation acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. The name of the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall be given to the Corporation in writing and the Corporation shall not be required to recognize any such ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ until it has been so notified.

Union Administrative Committee. The Corporation acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or to otherwise select a Union Administrative Committee from the Hospital employees who are members up to a maximum of eight members, four of whom shall be members of the bargaining Committee and one of those four (4) shall be the President or Vice-president of the Union. The Corporation agrees to negotiate and deal with a Bargaining Committee consisting of not more than six persons (which include the said four (4)employees of the Hospital and may also include one other member of the executive of the Local Union and an Representative of the Union, providing that members of the Bargaining Committee will not involve more than one employee from any area or department) with respect to any matter which properly arises during the term of this Agreement, including the settlement of complaints and grievances. The Union recognizes and agrees that Committee women have regular duties to perform in connection with their employment and that only such time as is reasonably necessary will be consumed by such persons during working hours in order to attend to their business of administering this Agreement. Committee women may not leave their departments without first securing permission from their Department Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. When entering a department other than her own, a Committee member must first obtain the permission of the Department Head. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. Members of the bargaining committee shall be paid their regular rate for all regular working hours lost due to attending negotiating meetings with Management up to the time the services of a Conciliation Officer are used. The employee shall obtain permission from her Department Head to leave her regular duties for such meetings. Permission for such purposes will not be unreasonably withheld. It is the mutual desire of the parties hereto that complaints of the Corporation or of the employees or of the Union will be adjusted as quickly as possible.

It is agreed that so far as possible meetings between the Employer and the said Union Administrative Committee called at the request of either party will be held during regular operating hours, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Employees attending meetings within working hours shall suffer no loss of wages. In the event of either party wishing to call a meeting for the purpose of discussing employee-management relations or matters arising out of the administration of the within Agreement, the Employee Relations Manager of the Employer and/or the Union's Secretary shall be notified in writing. The said meeting shall be held at a time and place that shall be fixed by mutual agreement. The said meeting shall be held within seven (7) working days following delivery of the said notice in writing, except when such period of time is enlarged by agreement between the parties.
