Unrestricted Personal Leave. When unrestricted personal leave is used, no reason shall normally be given for the use of such days other than "personal business."
Unrestricted Personal Leave. Each bargaining unit member may be granted three (3) days of unrestricted personal leave. Bargaining unit members employed between one (1) and sixty (60) days will receive one (1) personal leave day. Those employed from sixty-one (61) to one hundred nineteen (119) days will receive two (2) personal leave days and those employed one hundred twenty (120) days or more will receive three (3) personal leave days. Such leave will be granted upon submitting a request on a form approved by the Board to the building principal at least five (5) work days prior to taking of the personal leave, except when the nature of circumstances preclude such notification. The circumstances precluding five (5) day notification will be evaluated by Administration subsequent to utilization of leave. The request form shall make provision for the bargaining unit member's name, date the bargaining unit member desires to take personal leave, whether the bargaining unit member desires to take personal leave in whole or half day increments, and the bargaining unit member's signature. The Association and the Board agree that the intent of the use of unrestricted personal leave is to enable members to conduct that personal business which cannot be conducted during the hours school is in session. The following limitations shall prevail:
1. No more than ten percent (10%) of any building's staff shall be granted unrestricted personal leave at the same time.
2. On any given day that absenteeism exceeds fifteen percent (15%) of a given buildings faculty, requests for personal leave maybe refused. Prior approved requests for personal leave shall not be rescinded without the approval of the teacher.
3. This leave may be used in one half (½) or full day increments.
4. Unrestricted personal leave shall not be cumulative.
5. Unrestricted personal leave shall not be granted the day before or the day after a scheduled holiday or vacation or during the last ten (10) school days of the student school year. In the event of an emergency that necessitates personal leave within these periods, a written request explaining the circumstances for the request may be submitted to the Superintendent for consideration and approval. The decision of the Superintendent shall be final.
6. Members of the bargaining unit employed one hundred twenty (120) days or more during any one (1) contract year (July 1 - June 30) who do not use unrestricted personal leave shall be reimbursed as follows: Use "0" days of unrestricted ...
Unrestricted Personal Leave. A. The Board of Education shall, pursuant to the provisions of this article, provide for an employee’s absence for personal necessity.
B. Each employee shall be granted three (3) days of unrestricted personal leave.
C. Staff members who are employed on or after the first day of the second semester will be granted one and one-half (1 ½) days of unrestricted leave for that school year.
D. Such leave is to be granted upon entering the request in AESOP to the supervisor at least three (3) days prior to the requested date. When emergency situations arise making this compliance impossible, the supervisor shall be advised at the earliest possible opportunity.
E. Personal leave may not be used during the first five (5) student days and last ten (10) student days of each school year except at the discretion of the Superintendent.
F. The number of persons granted personal leave for any one (1) day will be limited to the demands of the District as determined by the Supervisor.
G. Staff members in a school year may carry over one (1) day to the following school year. In no circumstances may more than four (4) personal days be accumulated or used in any given school year. Any balance of personal days in excess of one (1) day at the end of the school year will be converted to the employee’s sick leave balance, or be paid to the employee at the appropriate substitute salary schedule rate of pay. Notification in writing to the payroll department must be received by May 1st if the unit member chooses substitute pay instead of conversion to sick leave.
Unrestricted Personal Leave. A. Of the three (3) personal leave days, one (1) day shall be granted without restrictions, except for the month of May restriction, if the following provisions are met:
1. The teacher has given one (1) week’s advance notice.
B. Additionally, for personal leave on the day preceding or following a holiday, or the day of school inservice, or the first or last day of school, the Superintendent shall approve the leave, if the leave is warranted. Also, no unrestricted personal leave may be used in May without the prior approval of the Superintendent.

Unit members who enter the bargaining unit on or after the first day of the second semester will be granted one and one-half (1-1/2) days of unrestricted personal leave for that school year. Unit members in a school year may carry over one (1) day to the following school year. In no circumstance may more than four (4) personal days be accumulated or used in any given school year. Any balance of personal days in excess of one
(1) day at the end of the school year will be converted to the unit member’s sick leave balance, or be paid to the unit member at the rate of $125.00 per day. Notification in writing to the Payroll Department must be received by May 1st if the unit member chooses payment instead of conversion to sick leave. Unrestricted Personal Leave. Except as restricted above, employees will not be required to provide a reason for requesting personal leave.
Unrestricted Personal Leave. The Authority will grant each employee three (3) days of unrestricted personal leave per anniversary year upon prior approval of the Department Head, and that approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. An employee shall apply for personal leave at least one working day in advance whenever practicable. During the first year of employment, the personal leave will be earned at the rate of one (1) day for every four months of service and may not be taken until it is earned. Any employee entitled to paid sick time shall be entitled to one additional personal leave day in the calendar year following the calendar year in which that employee uses one sick day or less.
Unrestricted Personal Leave. 1. An employee may use five (5) days per calendar year, to be deducted from accumulated sick leave, for personal business.
2. To use unrestricted personal leave, an employee must receive permission of the Department Head on or before the preceding day. Unrestricted personal leave shall not be used on the day before or after a holiday.
3. There will be no accumulation of unrestricted personal leave from year to year.
Unrestricted Personal Leave. Unit members who enter the bargaining unit on or after the first day of the second semester will be granted one and one-half (1- 1/2) days of unrestricted personal leave for that school year. Unit members in a school year may carry over one (1) day to the following school year. In no circumstance may more than four (4) personal days be accumulated or used in any given school year. Notification in writing to the Payroll Department must be received by May 1st if the unit member chooses substitute pay instead of conversion to sick leave. Personal leave may not be used during the first five (5) student days and last ten (10) student days of each school year except at the discretion of the Superintendent. Except at the discretion of the Superintendent, no more than four (4) unit members in each building shall be on personal leave on any given day. Personal leave shall be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis within each building.
