Vacation Amount. Vacation accruals for newly hired or rehired staff members will commence upon the successful completion of the first ninety (90) days of employment and will be credited retroactively to the staff member’s date of hire or rehire. Vacation time will accrue in each calendar year in accordance with the following schedule. The annual rate will change in the month when the staff member reaches a service milestone if the staff member’s anniversary date is before the 16th of the month and will change effective the following month if the staff member’s anniversary date is the 16th of the month or after. Vacation accruals are cumulative from one year to the next up to an amount equal to one (1) year of accruals. When unusual circumstances warrant an exception, amounts greater than one (1) year can be carried over with approval from a staff member’s department head and the Director of Human Resources.

Vacation Amount. Permanent employees will accumulate annual vacation credits at the following rates:
(a) One day per month of service during the first 5 years of continuous service with the District.
(b) One and one-quarter days per month during the 6th through 10th years of continuous service with the District.
(c) One and one-half days per month during the 11th through 15th years of continuous service with the District.
(d) One and three-quarter days per month during the 16th through 20th years of continuous service with the District.
(e) One and three-quarter days per month each year after 20 years of continuous service, plus 1 additional day for each full year of continuous service with the District in excess of 20 years.

Vacation Amount. After six months, the employee must re-establish credited service for vacation purposes. For example, if an employee worked for the Company for five years before resigning and the employee is re-hired within 3 months of their resignation, they will immediately accrue vacation as though they had five years of service. If they are re- hired after a year, they will start fresh with zero years of service. While employees will begin earning vacation on their first (1st) day of employment, they may take vacation only after successfully completing their probationary period.
