Vacation Entitlement for Employees. Employees shall earn vacation with pay at the following rates:
(a) Effective on date of hire, vacation shall accumulate at the rate of one (1) hour of vacation credit for each 26.00 regular hours paid to a maximum of 80 hours (2 weeks);
(b) Effective on the commencement of the second (2nd) year of service, vacation shall accumulate at the rate of one (1) hour of vacation credit for each 17.333 regular hours paid to a maximum of 120 hours (3 weeks);
(c) Effective on the commencement of the seventh (7th) year of service, vacation shall accumulate at the rate of one (1) hour of vacation credit for each 13.00 regular hours paid to a maximum of 160 hours (4 weeks);
(d) Effective on the commencement of the twenty-first (21st) year of service, vacation shall accumulate at the rate of one (1) hour of vacation credit for each 10.40 regular hours paid to a maximum of 200 hours (5 weeks).
Vacation Entitlement for Employees. Whose Status Changes The calculation of vacation entitlement with respect to Casual or Temporary Employees who become Regular Employees will be to equate service using the formula of "1 year = 1827 hours", exclusive of the first year of employment, which shall be considered as one year of service. For the purposes of this Article, service is measured from the last date of hire.
Vacation Entitlement for Employees. ON OR AFTER ABSENCE ON S&A AND W.S.I.B.
(a) An employee who has been absent from work and in receipt of Sickness & Accident or Workers Safety and Insurance Board benefits for at least four consecutive weeks in the previous year and returns to work will be granted the vacation time off, with pay, to which such employee would have been entitled had no such absence occurred based on the employee’s projected earnings at his regular rate of pay.
(b) To offset Sickness and Accident or W.S.I.B. payments by outstanding Annual Vacation at year end, the following conditions apply:
(i) At year end all monies owing to an employee with an outstanding Annual Vacation entitlement, including vacation bonus, will be paid in a lump sum. He will not be considered as being on or taking his vacation.
(ii) His Sickness and Accident or W.S.I.B. payments will not be interrupted as a result of this process.
(iii) Employees affected by this procedure will not be entitled to the paid holidays of Christmas and/or Boxing Day and/or New Years.
(iv) The above procedure will prevent both the Company from granting and the employee from electing to take his vacation on returning to work in the above circumstances prior to year end.
Vacation Entitlement for Employees hired on or after January 01, 2019. All regular full time and part time employees, with seniority after ratification, will be eligible to earn vacation entitlement, as well as to accrue vacation pay, based on their years of service. This is outlined in the chart below. For greater clarity, Vacation Entitlement relates to the total number of hours/days per year that the employee is granted. Vacation Dollars, are accrued in accordance with the following schedule and are calculated in accordance with ESA. At three year anniversary 120 hours / 15 days 6% At twenty year anniversary 200 hours / 25 days 10% “Vacation Entitlement” is established and credited at the beginning of the calendar year. For employees reaching the next entitlement level during the year, they will receive their “Vacation Entitlement” at the beginning of the year, and will accrue at their new “Vacation Dollars” effective on their anniversary date. For full time employees, vacation dollars are paid at the time of vacation, with the corresponding pay period. For part-time employees, vacation is paid biweekly and calculated on total earnings for the bi-weekly pay period. Part-time employees may book their weeks and their days of unpaid vacation time each year. Weeks above must be taken as seven (7) day blocks of time away from work while days may be used individually. Part-time employees will have the option of banking vacation pay which can be paid out upon written request of the employee. All banked vacation pay will be paid out in January of the following year.
Vacation Entitlement for Employees. During each year of continuous service in the employ of the Employer, an Employee shall earn entitlement to a vacation with pay as follows:
(a) during the first (1st) to third (3rd) years of such employment, an Employee earns a vacation entitlement of four percent (4%);
(b) during the fourth (4th) to ninth (9th) years of employment, an Employee earns a vacation entitlement of six percent (6%);
(c) during the tenth (10th) to twenty fourth (24th) years of employment, an Employee earns a vacation entitlement of eight percent (8%);
(d) during the twenty fifth (25th) and subsequent years of employment, an Employee earns a vacation entitlement of twelve percent (12%).
(a) Employees shall earn vacation with pay calculated in hours in accordance with the following formula: X The applicable % as outlined above = Number of hours paid vacation time to be taken
(b) For the purpose of Clause 19.03, hours worked shall include hours worked and paid at the basic rate of pay and sick leave with pay.
Vacation Entitlement for Employees. HIRED AFTER 1/1/98
