Work Experience Programs. It is mutually agreed by the parties, that the Company may participate in Work Experience/Education Programs from accredited educational institutions. The Company will give preferential consideration to local institutions when considering programs.
Work Experience Programs. The Employer may provide placements for those on work experience or co-op programs where the specific objective is to provide an opportunity for the participant to learn or upgrade his/her work skills for academic or job preparation purposes. Such placement is subject to the following conditions:
(a) The placement shall not result in the layoff of an existing employee or allow the Employer to keep an existing position vacant;
(b) The placement cannot exceed six months;
(c) The person in the placement shall become a member of the bargaining unit if employment is for more than 30 continuous days. The status of the participant shall be that of a "casual employee" for the entire duration of the placement.
Work Experience Programs. 6) Supervision of a Student SSP, Intern, Resident SSP, or Beginning SSP. • College/University Credit, which is accepted for the Special Plan, will apply only to vertical movement on the schedule and may not be used for horizontal advancement. • The SSP and principal must reach agreement to the plan and conduct an annual meeting regarding the progress of the plan. • The SSP must submit data to the principal to show completion. Initiation and Documentation of the 105% Plan GOAL(S) List one or more growth goals ACTIVITIES List activities supporting the goal from Policy 4130 or Policy 4880, as mentioned above. Work Experience Programs. LAWA shall provide work experience jobs and pay applicable wages. The funding of these Work Experience Programs is separate from that described in Section IV.A and is independent of the job training program to be operated by CDD and WIB. LAWA shall, to the extent permissible by law, specifically target opportunities for placement in these work experience programs to Project Impact Area residents. Funding provided under this Section IV.C shall not qualify as an expenditure under any other provision of Section IV.

3. The Company shall advise the Union of those individuals participating in such Work Experience programs. Wherever possible, this communication will be prior to the individual’s actual commencement in such programs.
4. Additionally, it is agreed that the Company’s participation in these Work Experience programs shall not displace existing permanent or temporary employees or threaten job security of employees falling within the Scope of this Agreement.

This will be planned with the Coordinator of Mental Health, and will include a schedule of the professional development activities that the Mental Health employee expects to complete during the next succeeding recertification period. Pre-approved activities completed while the Mental Health employee is on an approved leave of absence from the District may be considered for professional growth credit under this policy.

The student shall not be called upon to perform work that would affect the hours of work available to a Union employee. All terms relating to such work experience shall be agreed upon before placement.

Grocery Night Shift The Parties agree to pilot the scheduling of a four day work week at an agreed upon location(s) specific to the Full Time Grocery Night Shift. The trial period for the pilot shall be no more than four (4) months from the first scheduled four day work week. The Parties agree the trial period may be shorter than four (4) months should the Company deem the trial unsuccessful or harmful to the department. The pilot shall commence within one (1) year from the date of ratification.
