Work Year/Vacation. The Assistant Superintendent shall work twelve (12) full months each year; however, the Assistant Superintendent shall be entitled to twenty-four (24) days annual vacation with pay, exclusive of holidays. The Assistant Superintendent’s entitlement to vacation days shall be accrued on a month-to month basis. If this Agreement expires or is terminated for any reason, Assistant Superintendent shall be compensated for unused, accrued vacation at the salary rate effective at the time of termination. Assistant Superintendent is encouraged to take all vacation days during the fiscal year in which the vacation is earned. At no time shall Assistant Superintendent accrue more than forty (40) days of vacation; therefore, vacation time may be accumulated from year-to-year but in no event will more than forty (40) days of unused vacation be accrued or paid at the expiration or termination of this Agreement. Annually, the Assistant Superintendent may elect to receive compensation in lieu of taking up to ten (10) days of accrued, unused vacation. Therefore, the Assistant Superintendent shall be required to render service on 223 days each work year and, for purposes of determining her per diem rate of compensation, the Assistant Superintendent’s annual base salary shall be divided by 223. Should the Assistant Superintendent cease employment with the District with a negative vacation balance due to having used vacation in advance of its accrual (which may be done with written approval of the Board), it shall be deducted from any salary owed at the then current per diem rate during the Assistant Superintendent’s last months of employment or, at the District’s election, be repaid by the Assistant Superintendent following termination of employment.

Work Year/Vacation. 5:1 The work year shall be all week days during the employee’s contract period with the exception of scheduled vacation and holidays.
Work Year/Vacation. The Interim Superintendent shall be required to render twelve (12) full months of service to the District per year, except that the Interim Superintendent shall be entitled to annual vacation with pay, exclusive of the holidays granted to the District’s management employees. Vacation shall be accrued on a month-to-month basis at the rate of twenty-three (23) days per year. Vacation time may be accumulated from year-to-year, but no more that twenty-three (23) days shall be paid at the expiration or termination of this Agreement, nor may more than twelve (12) days be carried forward from any one fiscal year to another. The Interim Superintendent may elect to be compensated for accumulated vacation at the maximum of 5 days per school year. To determine the Interim Superintendent’s daily rate of pay, the Interim Superintendent’s annual base salary shall be divided by two hundred twenty-five (225). Days worked in excess of two hundred twenty-five (225) are considered unpaid non-work days.
Work Year/Vacation. The Superintendent shall be required to render 255 days of full and regular service to the District during each annual period covered by this Agreement, except that he shall be entitled to 24 days vacation in addition to the holidays as listed in the current Summary of Benefits for Beaverton School District No. 48 Administrators and Eligible Retired Administrators, attached hereto. Five days of winter holiday closure are non-paid and non-work days. For the remaining winter break and spring break days, Superintendent has the choice of working or declaring vacation. Days not worked during the summer break period must be counted among the 24 days of vacation.

Except in case of emergency, the Employee shall not be required to work on days designated as legal school holidays when the District’s Central Office is closed. Work Year/Vacation. The Superintendent shall work a 260-day contract, including 9 holidays (Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Xx Day and Memorial Day) and vacation as provided below. The Superintendent shall prepare and provide to the Board Chair no later than July 15 of each year a calendar of expected absences from the District, and shall therefore update the calendar throughout the year, with notice to the Board Chair The Superintendent shall receive twenty (20) days of vacation annually, exclusive of legal holidays and Round-Up (f5 days). Board believes vacation time is important to the overall health and well-being of its employees. To that end, up to five (5) unused vacation days per year annually may be accumulated to a maximum of twenty (20) days. At the time of separation or retirement from the District the Superintendent shall be paid for all unused vacation days, not to exceed the maximum of twenty (20) days. The Superintendent may cash out a maximum of five (5) vacation days per fiscal year at the Superintendent’s daily rate of pay.

The Interim Assistant Superintendent shall follow all District policies respecting use and accrual of vacation days. The Interim Assistant Superintendent may be paid for unused accrued vacation at the end of the fiscal year, providing there is a minimum of twenty-four (24) accrued days. The Interim Assistant Superintendent may exercise this option at any time of any given year via signed letter to the Payroll Manager of the District requesting payment for unused accrued vacation as long as he/she has accrued the stipulated number of days. Upon termination of this Agreement, the Interim Assistant Superintendent shall be entitled to compensation for unused accrued vacation days at his/her then current salary rate, provided that under no circumstances shall the Interim Assistant Superintendent accrue more than forty (40) days of vacation.
Work Year/Vacation. The Superintendent is a full-time certificated management employee and shall be required to render twelve (12) months of full and regular service to the District, with no less than two hundred twenty-five (225) days constituting a work year each school year during the term of this Agreement. However, the Superintendent shall be entitled to an additional twenty-five (25) days of vacation, excluding paid holidays as defined in Education Code section 37220. The Board expects the Superintendent to utilize this apportionment of vacation time every school year. When the Superintendent determines to be absent for five (5) or more consecutive days off of work, she shall give notice in advance to the Board President. If this Agreement is terminated, the Superintendent shall be compensated for all unused, accrued vacation at the salary rate effective at the time of termination. The Superintendent’s per diem shall be calculated by dividing the annual salary (base + longevity) by the number of work days, e.g., a denominator of 225 days. Vacation time may be accrued from year to year.
