Non-Credit Courses. In all cases, no tuition remission shall be made for courses not carrying academic credit, with the exception of nursery school. Individuals may take noncredit courses for one- half of the normal course fee, but no person will be allowed to take two or more such courses simultaneously at this rate. Registration will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis with no more than twenty percent of the total available places being held for this purpose. A course not being closed on the first day of class may have additional individuals admitted at one-half of the normal course fee.
Non-Credit Courses. 1. Employees may apply for reimbursement and released time for non-credit courses.
2. Only job-related non-credit courses which are offered through MSU Lifelong Education Programs (e.g., Continuing Education, Evening College) MSU Libraries, Computing and Technology Training Programs (LCTTP), Xxxxxxxxx College, Lansing Community College, High School Adult Education Programs, Human Resource Development or other Employer approved educational training programs are reimbursable and/or subject to waiver.
3. Part-time employees with 12 FTE continuous service months shall be eligible for job- related non-credit courses which are offered only through the MSU Lifelong Education Programs (e.g., Continuing Education, Evening College), MSU LCTTP and Human Resource Development which are held on the East Lansing Campus. Part-time employees shall not be eligible for released time.
4. Non-credit course reimbursement will not exceed $800 per academic year. Released time may be granted by the department for a non-credit course. Part-time employees shall not be eligible for released time.
5. If non-credit courses are taken during the same academic year as credit courses, the total reimbursement and waiver will not exceed the total of the MSU graduate rate for up to fourteen (14) credit hours.
6. Employees must submit their educational assistance application to Human Resource Development prior to taking a non-credit course at other institutions to receive the reimbursement. Employees shall provide a verification of course completion (certificate from the course signed by the instructor or a form provided by Human Resource Development signed by the instructor, or a copy of the official grade report) and proof of course costs for non-credit courses (cancelled check or receipt) within 15 working days of successful course completion or receipt of grade.
Non-Credit Courses. (a) Tuition fees may be waived at the sole discretion of the Employer, for Employees taking job-related non-credit courses at Dalhousie University. Employees who fail or do not complete a course, forfeit entitlement to this waiver and must successfully complete a subsequent job-related non-credit course in order to qualify for reimbursement in that instance and in order to regain entitlement.
(b) Tuition fees may be reimbursed, at the sole discretion of the Employer, to Employees who have successfully completed work-related courses taken at Dalhousie which are relevant to the pursuit of alternative employment at Dalhousie.
Non-Credit Courses a. Employees may apply for reimbursement and release time for non-credit courses.
b. Only job-related courses which are offered through the University Outreach (e.g., Lifelong Education, Continuing Education and Evening College), MSU Computer Laboratory, Xxxxxxxxx College, Lansing Community College, High School Adult Education Programs, Human Resource Development Programs or other Staff Benefits Office approved Educational/Training programs are reimbursable.
c. If non-credit courses only are being taken during an academic year, reimbursement will not exceed eight hundred ($800.00) dollars.
d. If non-credit courses are being taken during the same academic years as course per Paragraph 263 above, the total reimbursement will not exceed the MSU rate per credit for fourteen (14) credit hours.
e. Employees must document their successful completion of non-credit courses by submitting (1) a certificate for the course signed by the instructor, or (2) a form provided by Staff Benefits signed by the instructor.
Non-Credit Courses. The College agrees to accord full-time members of the faculty or their spouses, or civil union partners, or eligible dependents, free tuition and all fees (does not include text and course material or other out-of-pocket costs) (Fall, Spring, and Summer) in any Non-Credit Continuing Education course at the College, provided they meet the normal requirements for admission to the course(s). The College will make available non-credit courses on a seat or space available basis to employees or their dependents. Fee-free memberships to the Fitness Center will be limited to the full-time employee only with membership available to dependents on a fee basis. Employees and/or dependents must obtain a “tuition remission” form from the Human Resources Department. A proof-of- dependency status is required for dependents. A dependent is a person for whom the employee claims an exemption under the provision of the Internal Revenue Service laws, rules, and regulations.
Non-Credit Courses. 250 - Employees may apply for reimbursement and release time for job-related, non- credit courses which are offered through the University Outreach (e.g., Lifelong Education, Continuing Education and Evening College), MSU computing and technology training programs, Xxxxxxxxx College, Lansing Community College, and high school adult education programs, Human Resource Development programs or other Human Resource Development approved educational/training programs. 251 - If non-credit courses only are being taken during an academic year, reimbursement will not exceed eight hundred ($800.00) dollars. 252 - If non-credit courses are being taken during the same academic year as a course per paragraph 244 above, the total reimbursement will not exceed the MSU rate per credit for fourteen (14) credit hours. 253 - Employees must document their successful completion of non-credit courses by submitting either (1) a certificate from the course signed by the instructor, or (2) a form provided by Human Resource Development signed by the instructor.
Non-Credit Courses. Non-Credit courses shall be covered in accordance with the procedure referenced below. Coverage cannot exceed the employee’s and/or dependent’s per-term, noncredit limit as defined in this procedure.
20.5.1. Professional Development courses with CEU’s, Fire Academy, Police Academy, and Private Security Training will be covered at one hundred percent (100%);
20.5.2. Group lessons and summer camps will be covered at a maximum of fifty percent (50%);
Non-Credit Courses a. Subject to the prior approval of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board shall make a payment towards the expenses of any teacher attending short courses, workshops, conferences and seminars during time outside of the teacher's regular work year on the following basis:
i. the short course, workshop, conference or seminar relates to the teacher's current or proposed instructional responsibilities.
ii. when attendance does not require the teacher to live away from the teacher's normal School District No. 57 residence, the registration fee of the course will be reimbursed provided that a fee receipt and a certificate of attendance is submitted.
iii. when attendance requires the teacher to live away from the teacher's normal School District No. 57 residence and provided that a fee receipt and certificate of attendance is provided, reimbursement will be:
Non-Credit Courses. (a) Full-time Employees and their spouses and dependents, when taking non-credit courses at Medicine Hat College, shall pay fifty percent (50%) of the normal tuition fee.
(b) Part-time Employees, when taking non-credit courses at Medicine Hat College outside their working hours, shall pay fifty percent (50%) of the normal tuition fee.
(c) Sessional Employees may take non-credit courses at Medicine Hat College outside their working hours and pay fifty percent (50%) of the normal tuition fee.
(d) In order to qualify for the reduced fee for the non-credit course(s) at Medicine Hat College, the following criteria shall apply:
(i) The course(s) must be self-supporting from participants paying full tuition.
(ii) Where non credit courses are full with participants paying one hundred (100%) of tuition, Employee’s spouses and dependents may be bumped.
(iii) All Employees are eligible to receive one hundred (100%) tuition waiver on all First Aid training programs offered at the College.
Non-Credit Courses. 299 Employees may apply for reimbursement and release time for job-related non-credit courses which are offered through the University Outreach (e.g., lifelong education, continuing education and evening college), MSU computing and technology training programs, Xxxxxxxxx College, Lansing Community College, and high school adult education programs or other HRD approved educational/training programs. -300 If non-credit courses only are being taken during an academic year, reimbursement will not exceed eight hundred ($800.00) dollars. -301 If non-credit courses are being taken during the same academic year as a course per paragraph 289 above, the total reimbursement will not exceed the MSU rate per credit for fourteen (14) credit hours. -302 Employees must document their successful completion of non-credit courses by submitting either (1) a certificate from the course signed by the instructor, or (2) a form provided by HRD signed by the instructor.
