BASIC WORKWEEK - OVERTIME - STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. The Employer reserves the right to schedule the hours of work for the workplace, meal periods, and overtime work, subject to the following definitions and provisions. The Employer will not schedule more hours than the Employer deems necessary for the operation of the workplace. The Employer will not reduce the weekly hours of work for an employee for the sole purpose of replacing those hours with an employee at a lower hourly rate. The normal workweek will be Monday to Sunday.

(b) All employees shall be paid their regular hourly rate for each hour worked, except where employed for less than four (4) consecutive hours per day, in which event they shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours pay, except students who shall receive a minimum of two (2) hours pay. An employee who is called for work and upon reporting finds that his or her services are not required, shall receive two (2) hours pay.

BASIC WORKWEEK - OVERTIME - STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. The Employer reserves the right to schedule hours of store operations, subject to the following provisions in respect to employee hours of work, rest periods, lunch periods, overtime and statutory holidays: (a) The Basic Straight Time Workweek shall consist of forty (40) hours to be worked in five (5) eight (8) hour days within the calendar week. This is not to be construed as a guarantee of hours. (b) The Basic Straight Time Workday shall consist of eight (8) hours to be worked within the hours of 7:00 a. m. and 10:00 p.m. and shall be worked within nine (9) consecutive hours, with one (1) uninterrupted hour off for a meal period at approximately the middle of the workday. (c) Overtime Pay shall be paid at the rate of one and one half (1½) times the employee's regular rate of pay for all time worked beyond the basic limits set out in Subsections (a) and (b), except for work performed on a Sunday or statutory holiday where the Subsections governing these days apply. Compensating time off shall not be given in lieu of payment for overtime worked unless mutually agreed. A part-time employee who works less than the basic workweek and restricts their availability shall sign a form so advising the Employer. Such employee shall forfeit their right to claim any hours in excess of the number of hours to which they have restricted themselves. If an employee wishes to end their restricted status, they must advise the Employer in writing. The employee’s full seniority rights will be reinstated from the date he or she advises the Employer. An employee shall not be entitled to restrict him or herself more than once per year.‌ (d) For time worked between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., thirty (30¢) cents per hour shall be paid in addition to the regular straight time or overtime rate applicable for the employee, provided that this shall not apply to janitorial work. (e) Part-Time Employees are employees who work less than the basic straight-time workweek. If required for work for more than eight (8) hours in any one day, forty (40) hours in any one week or between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., the provisions Subsections (c) and (d) shall apply.

  • STATUTORY HOLIDAYS a) All hourly-rated employees who work on New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Dominion Day, British Columbia Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day shall be paid rate and one-half for all hours so worked. b) In the event one of the Statutory Holiday falls on a Sunday, the previous Friday or the following Monday shall be observed as the Holiday. In the event that one of the within named Statutory Holidays fall on Saturday, it shall be observed the preceding Friday or succeeding Monday as agreed between the Company and the Plant Committee. c) In the event of a Statutory Holiday falling on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, and where the Company and Plant Committee mutually agree, the said holiday may be observed the preceding Monday or following Friday respectively. d) At the option of the Company, but whenever possible, by mutual agreement with the Plant Committee, either Good Friday or Easter Monday shall become the designated Easter Holiday, and the Company shall notify its employees of the designation at least one (1) week prior to the said Holiday. e) When a Statutory Holiday falls on a Friday, employees working on a Tuesday to Saturday work week, by mutual agreement between the Company and the Plant Committee may work on the Friday Statutory Holiday at the straight time job rates and substitute Saturday as the Statutory Holiday. f) In the case of a maintenance employee where one of the Statutory Holidays is observed on his/her rest day, he/she shall have a day off without pay in lieu thereof at a mutually agreeable time. g) Not withstanding the above, in logging, a Statutory Holiday may be observed on another mutually agreed upon day in a week other than the week in which it occurs. An employee who qualifies for such Statutory Holiday on the day it occurs, and works on that day, will be paid for the Statutory Holiday at straight time rates. a) All hourly-rated and piece work employees who qualify for the paid holiday under the conditions set out below shall be paid for the holiday at their regular job rate of pay for their regular rate work schedule. The Parties hereto agree that the paid Statutory Holidays shall be as follows: New Year’s Day British Columbia Day Good Friday Labour Day Victoria Day Thanksgiving Day Dominion Day Remembrance Day Christmas Day Boxing Day b) Piece-work employees shall receive pay for the statutory holidays for which they qualify, based on the daily average earnings for the days actually worked during the previous thirty (30) working days. c) All hourly-rated employees working on a paid holiday shall receive rate and one-half for hours worked on such day in addition to the holiday pay to which he/she may be entitled. d) Xxxx and bunkhouse employees who work on a statutory holiday shall receive at the end of their regular work schedule, an additional day off with pay to be added to their leave and vacation allowance accumulated in accordance with Article VII, Section 3. e) To qualify for statutory holidays, an employee must have been on the Company payroll for the thirty (30) calendar days immediately preceding the statutory holiday and must have worked his/her last regularly scheduled work day before, and his/her first regularly scheduled work day after the holiday, unless his/her absence is due to a compensable injury or illness, which occurred within six (6) months of the holiday, or the employee is on authorized leave of absence in accordance with Section 2 or 3 of Article IX. f) In the case of illness or injury, the Company shall have the right to request a certificate from a qualified medical practitioner. g) Notwithstanding any of the foregoing provisions, the employee must have worked one (1) day before and one (1) day after the holiday, both of which must fall within a period of ninety (90) calendar days.

  • Overtime Holidays Double time the regular rate for work on the following holiday(s). New Year's Day

  • Normal Workweek The normal workweek shall consist of five (5) days, eight (8) hours per day and forty (40) hours per week. This Article shall not restrict the extension of the regular workday or workweek on an overtime basis when such is necessary to carry on the business of the District.

  • Vacation, Holidays and Sick Leave During the Term, the Executive shall be entitled to paid vacation, paid holidays and sick leave in accordance with the Company's standard policies for its senior executive officers.

  • Work on Holidays An employee who is required to work, or works with prior approval, any part of a holiday shall receive holiday compensatory time for up to eight (8) hours, on an hour for hour basis, for the actual non-overtime hours worked in addition to their regular rate of pay. An employee who works overtime on a holiday shall be compensated in accordance with all applicable pay and overtime provisions. An employee must use holiday compensatory time within one (1) year after having accrued that time.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.

  • Public Holiday Work (a) For Employees other than Shiftworkers, double time and a half must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours. (b) For Shiftworkers, double time and a half (inclusive of their shift loading) must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.

  • Workweek A regularly re-occurring period of one hundred and sixty-eight (168) hours consisting of seven (7) consecutive twenty-four (24) hour periods. Workweeks will normally begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 12:00 midnight the following Saturday or as otherwise designated by the appointing authority. If there is a change in their workweek, employees will be given written notification by the appointing authority or their designee.

  • HOLIDAY COMPENSATION FOR TIME WORKED 110. Employees required by their respective appointing officers to work on any of the above specified or substitute holidays, excepting Fridays observed as holidays in lieu of holidays falling on Saturday, shall be paid extra compensation of one additional day's pay at time-and-one-half the usual rate in the amount of 12 hours pay for 8 hours worked or a proportionate amount for less than 8 hours worked provided, however, that at the employee's request and with the approval of the appointing officer, an employee may be granted compensatory time off in lieu of paid overtime pursuant to the provisions of Section III.E.2. 111. Executive, administrative and professional employees designated in the Annual Salary Ordinance with the "Z" symbol shall not receive extra compensation for holiday work but may be granted time off equivalent to the time worked at the rate of-one-and-one-half times for work on the holiday.
