Casual Teacher. The minimum rate of pay for a Casual Teacher shall be the applicable rate set out in the Table 1B in Pay Schedule 1 of Part G - Monetary Rates which is inclusive of a 5% loading and is in compensation for annual leave, leave loading, personal/carers leave and redundancy payments. Casual rates have been calculated by dividing the annual rate by 204 for a Full Day and by 408 for a Half Day and in each case adding 5%. The Teacher will be placed on Graduate or Proficient in accordance with their classification pursuant to Clause 7- Classifications. These rates include the pro rata payment in respect of annual leave pursuant to the National Employment Standards.
Casual Teacher. B.
5.1 The salary payable to a casual Teacher will be no less than the rates listed below or the applicable rate pursuant to the Educational Services (Teachers) Award 2020, whichever the greater:
a) $440 per day b) $220 per half day
Casual Teacher. (i) The minimum rates of pay for a Casual Teacher have been calculated by taking the appropriate annual rate in Table 1B in Pay Schedule 1 of Part G - Monetary Rates, dividing the annual rate by 204 in the case of a daily payment and by 408 in the case of a half daily payment, and in each case adding a 5% loading, rounded to two decimal places. The appropriate rates are Graduate/Graduate 1 and Proficient 1.
(ii) The Teacher will be placed on Graduate or Proficient in accordance with their classification pursuant to Clause 7 - Classifications.
(iii) The casual rates include a loading which is in compensation for annual leave, leave loading, personal/ carers leave and redundancy payments. These rates include the pro rata payment in respect of annual leave pursuant to the National Employment Standards.
Casual Teacher. 8.4.1. The School may employ a Teacher as a Casual Teacher in accordance with this Agreement.
8.4.2. A Casual Teacher is entitled to the rate of pay specified in Schedule B. This rate of pay includes a loading in lieu of paid leave entitlements.
8.4.3. The School will engage a Casual Teacher on an hourly basis, provided that the minimum engagement will be for not less than two hours. The minimum engagement does not apply where a Part Time Teacher is employed to work additional hours on a casual basis on a day that the Part Time Teacher is ordinarily employed.
8.4.4. A Casual Teacher is not entitled to any of the following benefits under this Agreement: • notice of termination of employment • redundancy • remuneration packaging • annual leave • community service leave • school holidays • non attendance time • leave loading • public holidays • paid personal leave • paid compassionate leave • qualifications conferral leave • paid parental leave • accident make-up pay
8.4.5. A Casual Teacher is entitled to unpaid carer’s leave, unpaid parental leave and long service leave, where eligible.
8.4.6. The School must not employ a Casual Teacher, in such a capacity for more than fifteen (15) consecutive school days. By mutual agreement, employment may be for up to one school term, where the days are consecutive.
Casual Teacher. A.5.1 The salary payable to a Casual Teacher who is engaged for less than five consecutive days will be a minimum of: 2014 2015 2016 2017

B.1 Responsibility allowances (POR allowances)
Casual Teacher. B.6.1 A casual Teacher may be engaged for a day or a half-day.
B.6.2 The salary payable to a casual Teacher for the 2025 School Year will be not less than that provided by the following table, payable from the first full pay period commencing on or after the specified date. 2025
B.6.3 The salary payable to a casual Teacher for the 2026 and 2027 School Year will be not less than the casual rate of pay (per day) specified on the Department of Education and Training (Victoria) website, payable from the first full pay period commencing on or after the specified date.
B.6.4 Provided that a casual Teacher will be paid for a minimum of half a day where a day is the usual required attendance time for a Teacher in the school and a half day is half the usual required attendance time.
Casual Teacher. The minimum rate of pay for a Casual Teacher shall be the applicable rate set out in the relevant Tables of Table 1B in Pay Schedule 1 of Part G – Monetary Rate which is inclusive of a 20% loading and is in compensation for annual leave, leave loading, personal/ carers leave and r edundancy payments. Casual rates have been calculated by dividing the annual rate by 240 for a Full Day and by 480 for a Half Day and in each case adding 20%. The Teacher will be pl aced on B and 1 or Band 2 i n accordance with their classification pursuant to Clause 7 – Classifications provided the Casual Teacher employed for the first time prior to October 2004 will be deemed to be Band 2 if the Teacher has two or more years of full-time equivalent teacher service. (The Band 3 classification is not applicable to Casual Teachers). These rates include the pro rata payment in respect of annual leave pursuant to the National Employment Standards.
Casual Teacher. The salary payable to a Casual Teacher will be a minimum of: 2022 2023 2024 Full Day $ 392.76 $ 402.58 $ 412.65 Half Day $ 196.38 $ 201.29 $ 206.32 Provided that a Casual Teacher will be paid for a minimum of half a day.
Casual Teacher. Casual Teacher a) A casual teacher shall be paid a proportion of the wage prescribed in Section 13, according to the relevant fortnightly rate divided by 75 with an additional 25% loading plus payments made for preparation and other duties on the ratio of one hour for every five hours in charge of children. The following arrangements will apply to the payment of casual teachers at the applicable casual rate: Up to two hours (1/5) x 2 0.40 hours Two hours plus payment for preparation and other duties = Full day rate divide 7.5 x 2 plus 25% loading plus = PoD multiplied by hourly rate plus 25% loading More than two and up to four hours (1/5) x 4 0.80 hours Four hours plus payment for preparation and other duties = Full day rate divide 7.5 x 4 plus 25% loading plus = PoD multiplied by hourly rate plus 25% loading More than four hours and up to a full day (1/5) x 7.75 1.55 hours Full day* plus payment for preparation and other duties = Fortnightly rate divided by 10 plus 25% loading plus = PoD multiplied by hourly rate plus 25% loading
b) A casual teacher must not be engaged for more than four (4) consecutive term weeks unless the engagement is extended by mutual agreement. Such an extension shall not exceed 10 term weeks.
c) The casual/relief teacher rate is provided in Table 2 of Schedule 1.
