Credit for Prior Experience. Credit shall be given new employees in initial step placement of the wage scale set forth in Appendix A for prior experience directly related to the same classification. Credit for prior experience which is somewhat related to the position for which the applicant applies will be granted on a basis of one (1) year credit for two (2) years’ experience.

Credit for Prior Experience. A nurse with at least two (2) years of full time equivalent (FTE) experience in an acute care hospital prior to hire, will be started at not less than the applicable step indicated below: 2 to 3 out of the last four (4) years: Step 2 4 to 5 out of the last six (6) years: Step 3
Credit for Prior Experience. Employees who are qualified by virtue of previous experience may be placed at the longevity step appropriate to the employeesyears of experience as a registered nurse. Step placement shall include, where applicable, years’ credit toward advancement to the next step. Nurses shall receive written notice of their step placement, date of projected step advancement, and rate of pay no later than thirty (30) days following commencement of their employment.

The Medical Center may, in its discretion, place a newly hired experienced nurse at a higher step rate of pay.
Credit for Prior Experience. The wage rate for new employees covered under this Agreement will provide credit for years of recent relevant experience in comparable jobs. If an employee disagrees with their placement on the step scale, the employee shall request a review from Human Resource within sixty (60) days of hire. For each request received, the Employer will determine within thirty (30) days whether an upward adjustment in step placement is warranted. Adjustments will be retroactive to the date of hire. If the review is requested outside of the 60 days, the correction will be effective the first full pay period following the completion of the review.

A nurse that disagrees with their step placement may request a review by 26 Human Resources within ninety days of their hire with PeaceHealth. Review will be 27 complete within thirty days of submission and new rate will be effective the first full pay 28 period following completion of the review.

Newly hired registered nurses will not be placed higher than step twenty-two (22) unless approved by the CNO. For registered nurses hired in the Behavioral Health Unit, experience at the Oregon State Hospital shall be counted as equal to that of an accredited acute care facility. Credit for Prior Experience. If a bargaining unit employee ceases to be responsible for an extracurricular activity for a period not to exceed one year, due to illness or other legitimate reasons beyond the employee's control, and if the employee, with the prior written approval of the Superintendent, is, within such year, returned to responsibility for such extracurricular activity, such employee shall return to responsibility for the extracurricular activity at the same rate of compensation they were receiving at the time they ceased to be responsible for such activity, prorated as appropriate. Employees ceasing to be responsible for an extracurricular activity for any greater length of time, who return to responsibility for such extracurricular activity, shall be compensated at the rate of number of years experience times .5 on the pay scale (thus an advisor or coach with eight years experience would come back on the pay scale at Step 4).
