Conventions and Conferences. Union-designated nurses may be allowed time off without pay to attend union-sponsored conventions or conferences. Approval for the time off must be approved in advance of the absence. Approval will not be granted if the absence interferes with the Employer’s ability to provide coverage during the requested time off or the operating needs of the agency cannot be met.
Conventions and Conferences. Employees selected by the Union to attend conventions and conferences of the Union shall, where reasonably possible, be granted leave of absence without pay for the same provided the Corporation is given two (2) weeks notice in writing with a copy to the Administrator and Department Heads. No more than three (3) employees from any one Home may be absent at any one time. In any one Home, such leaves without pay shall not total more than one hundred (100) working days, in one calendar year, excluding traveling time. The Corporation will continue to pay the employee's salary and benefits and invoice the Union for the same.
Conventions and Conferences. The Board may, at the discretion of the Superintendent or designee, authorize attendance by a unit member at an educational conference(s). Unit members seeking such conference leave shall file an application with the Superintendent or designee at least thirty (30) calendar days, if practicable, before the leave date requested. Such application shall include the title, location and a description of the conference, the duration of the leave requested, and a statement of any expenses for which reimbursement is sought. The Superintendent or designee shall have absolute discretion as to the granting of leaves, the length of any leave authorized, and what, if any, expenses shall be reimbursed. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Superintendent shall authorize conference leaves on a rotating basis to assure maximum participation and opportunities for all members of the unit.
Conventions and Conferences. Each elected and appointed Association delegate who attends the Iowa State Police Conference and/or Iowa Association of Women Police shall be granted up to three (3) paid days to attend. Employees will only be paid for the three days of attendance when they coincide with their regularly scheduled work day. The number of elected and appointed association delegates shall not exceed the number of delegates authorized by the Iowa State Police Association. The City shall not arbitrarily deny these requests provided the Chief of Police or his designee receives written notice of the dates required thirty (30) days in advance of such dates, notice to be delivered by the Secretary of the Association.
Conventions and Conferences. 12.1.1 Leaves may be granted for employees to attend conventions or conferences related to their particular position or assignment, upon the approval by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
12.1.1.1 Attendance at professional conventions or meetings on a national, state, or local level of which they are a member.
12.1.1.2 Participation in the business or professional organization of which they are a member or hold office.
12.1.1.3 Participation in programs of recognized professional or union organization.
Conventions and Conferences. All conference requests must be approved by the Administrator's supervisor, and the Human Resources Department prior to the date of the conference. All Administrators are responsible for arranging for the delegation of their responsibilities during the period of time they are attending a conference. Upon return from a conference, the Administrator will submit a written report of the sessions to his/her supervisor. Principals may, with the approval of the Area Director(s), attend different conferences than those listed herein, provided the expenses incurred do not exceed those they had been designated to attend. Only one Secondary Administrator shall be gone from the building at any one time; exceptions may be made only with the approval of the Superintendent. These quotas may be exceeded by Administrators who have either major responsibilities on the program or in the organization. Attendance shall be at their own expense. * Elementary Assistant Principals may also be scheduled. The Superintendent after meeting with LASA, may place a freeze on all conferences when economic circumstances so dictate.

Any officer(s) chosen as delegate(s) to the Fraternal Order of Police Illinois State Conference or the National Fraternal Order of Police Conference, will upon written application approved by the Lodge and submitted to the Department with at least fourteen (14) days notice, be given a period of time required to attend such convention or conference. This period of time shall in no event exceed five (5) work days. Accrued paid time off, including vacation, compensatory time off, holidays and personal time off, may be used for such absence.

If the conference or convention is on an employee’s day off, equal hours off work with pay (maximum eight (8) hours per day) may be scheduled between the employee and their supervisor at a mutually agreeable time.

State or National Conference, will upon written application approved by the Lodge and submitted to the Employer with at least fourteen (14) days notice, be given a leave of absence with out pay for the period of time required to attend such convention or conference. This period of time shall in no event exceed three working days. Employees shall receive no pay during such leave, unless they utilize their accumulated vacation, compensatory time or personal leave. A maximum of two employees shall be so released at any one time, and the releasing shall be subject to the Department’s reasonable manpower requirements.
