Duty-Free Time. 21.1 All employees who are employed for five (5) or more hours per day will be scheduled for a duty- free unpaid lunch period of at least thirty (30) minutes per day. Employees requesting an additional thirty (30) minutes must receive prior approval of his/her supervisor. 21.2 Break time is available within this scheduled number of hours for all employees as follows:

Employees shall submit on forms provided and signed by the Employer, documentation relating to any lost duty-free time, which shall be signed by their Manager or designee, and a copy provided to the employee and Section 2. Alternatively, full-time employees may receive up to thirty minutes of unpaid duty-free time (off site). Duty-free time will be designated and authorized by the supervisor, in consultation with the employee, except that: (1) such duty-free time may not be feasible where there is understaffing, and (2) where there is one employee on duty without supervisory oversight. The employee will be responsible to take such duty-free time in a manner such that he/she does not jeopardize the consumers’ health or safety or otherwise violate the Employer’s duty of care to the consumer.
Duty-Free Time. 10 A. All teachers will receive a thirty minute lunch period. 11 B. If the school calendar for any given year has only one (1) day of work prior to Labor Day, all unit members will 12 be provided with a minimum of one-half (1/2) day of independent professional time. If the school calendar for 13 any given year has two (2) or more work days prior to Labor Day, then all unit members will receive a 14 minimum of one (1) day or the equivalent of one (1) full day of independent professional time. Unit members 15 are expected to be on-site for independent professional time. Off-site independent professional time must be 16 pre-approved by a unit member’s supervising administrator. 17 C. All elementary teachers shall have approximately two hundred twenty-five (225) minutes per week, or not 18 less than 20 minutes per day, for student-free professional planning. Elementary teachers will be relieved of 19 student contact and mandatory staff development or administrative meetings for the equivalent of two full 20 days or four half-days at the end of the school year. Middle School and High School teachers shall have at 21 least one preparation period per day.
Duty-Free Time. All unit members will receive a lunch period of at least thirty (30) minutes free from supervisory responsibility. In addition, teaching assistants will receive a fifteen (15) minute duty free break during the morning. Assigned staff and traveling staff (excluding teaching assistants) shall have a minimum of 30 minutes planning time in their daily schedule. Under emergency circumstances staff may be called upon to help during a duty free time. When emergency circumstances exist the duty free time will be rescheduled.
Duty-Free Time. 1. Each teacher of grades preK-5 shall be entitled to one duty-free recess period every other day. The free time to which a grades preK-5 teacher is entitled during said recess period shall be in addition to preparation time and duty-free lunch. 2. Teachers of grades 6-12 shall be entitled to one preparation period per day. Notwithstanding any provision of this paragraph to the contrary, a teacher of grades 6-12 without professional status may be required to spend a part of a preparation period in a meeting or conference with another staff member during said preparation time; provided, however, that in no event shall such teacher be deprived of preparation time of at least fifteen (15) minutes on such an occasion. 3. A 6-12 "preparation period" shall be defined as a period equal in length to a class period which a teacher uses in his own professional judgment for the purpose of planning and preparing for the subjects which he teaches. During the teacher's preparation period, the teacher shall be permitted to leave the school building for an educational purpose; provided, however, that before the teacher leaves the school building, the teacher shall inform the principal's office as to the teacher's destination. 4. Any time which a teacher spends traveling from one school building to another shall not detract from said teacher's preparation time. 5. All teachers of Grades preK-5 shall be entitled to a minimum of two hundred and twenty-five (225) minutes of preparation time per five-day cycle exclusive of the fifteen (15) minutes before school when said teacher is required to be in attendance. Notwithstanding any provision of this paragraph to the contrary, a teacher of grades preK-5 without professional status may be required to spend a part of a preparation period in a meeting or conference with another staff member during said preparation time; provided, however, that in no event shall such teacher be deprived of preparation time of at least fifteen (15) minutes on such occasion. 6. Each teacher shall have a duty free lunch period of twenty-five minutes daily. A teacher shall be permitted to leave the building during his/her lunch period. 7. On early release days, teachers shall be released at 11:15 a.m. at the Middle High School and at 11:45 a.m. at the Elementary School during the school year.
Duty-Free Time. 1. All teachers shall have a daily duty-free lunch period of at least twenty (20) minutes. In those schools where twenty (20) minutes of duty-free lunch cannot be arranged, the teacher shall have a daily twenty (20) minutes duty-free period which shall be in addition to any other duty-free period. 2. Teachers may leave the building during their scheduled duty-free lunch periods if notification is given to a building administrator and by signing out at the designated area.

  • Crib Time (i) When an Employee is required to work overtime after the usual ceasing time for the day or shift for two hours or more, he/she shall be allowed to take, without deduction of pay, a crib time of twenty minutes in duration immediately after such ceasing time and thereafter, after each four hours of continuous work, he/she shall be allowed to take also, without deduction of pay, a crib time of 30 minutes in duration. (ii) In the event of an Employee remaining at work after the usual ceasing time without taking the crib time of twenty minutes and continuing at work for a period of two hours or more, he/she shall be regarded as having worked twenty minutes more than the time worked and be paid accordingly.

  • Union Release Time The appointing authority may grant to elected officers or appointed representatives of the Union time off for employee organization representation activities. No more than one employee in a department or Bureau of the Department of Public Works with a total of no more than six employees for all bargaining units (4, 14, 15 & 18) shall be allowed release time under this article. A. The Union shall submit a written request for release of an employee to that employee’s Department Management, which shall include a list of all employees currently on release time for these Units. Release time shall be granted for a maximum of one year in any three-year period unless additional time is approved by the CAO and the affected departments. D. Employees shall be paid the employee’s current salary by the City while the employee is performing these duties for the Union. E. Employees shall retain all of their existing benefits, including, but not limited to medical, dental, deferred compensation plan, retirement benefits and seniority accrual in their civil service class. F. The Union shall reimburse the City for all salary and benefits costs incurred as a result of release time, including but not limited to, vacation, sick leave, compensated time off, retirement, short-term disability, life insurance, medical, dental and workers’ compensation. The benefits cost shall be based on the benefits rates established by the City Administrative Officer as contained in the City Budget in effect during the period of release time, and the cost of other benefits approved by the Joint Labor Management Benefits Committee that become effective during this period. G. Payment of any overtime worked while on release time shall be the responsibility of the Union. H. The City Administrative Officer shall bill the Union and Union shall make payments to the City Administrative Officer of all reimbursable costs identified in Section E above. I. An employee on release time shall submit weekly timesheets signed by the employee and the Union (General Manager or his/her designee) to their respective Personnel Director specifying the number of hours worked and use of any sick leave, vacation time or compensated time off. X. Should an employee incur a work-related injury while on release time, he/she shall remain on release time with the Union during the period of injury-on-duty (IOD), or until the release time has ended, and shall continue to be counted in determining the 4 employee maximum, as provided for above. The Union will reimburse the City for all IOD and Workers’ Compensation related costs. X. When the employee returns from release time, he/she shall return to his/her civil service classification and pay grade at the time of release. L. The employee must have passed probation in his/her current class to be eligible for release time. M. The Union shall indemnify, defend and hold the City and its officers and employees harmless against any and all claims, suits, demands or other forms of liability that might arise out of or result from any action taken by an employee in the service of the Union. The City Administrative Officer shall maintain a list of employees who have been approved for release time and the approved duration.

  • Leave Time During the Employment Period, Employee shall be entitled to paid vacation and leave days each calendar year in accordance with the leave policies established by Employer from time to time. Any leave time not used during each fiscal year of Employer may be carried over into the next year to the extent permitted by Employer policy.
