Emergency Personal Days. 1. A non-probationary, full-time GESSA employee is eligible for two (2) days of paid emergency/personal leave each fiscal year. A probationary, full-time GESSA employee who successfully completes his/her probationary period by June 30 shall be entitled to two (2) paid emergency/personal days at the completion of his/her probationary period for the school year. A probationary, full-time GESSA employee who successfully completes his/her probationary period on July 1 or after shall be entitled to two (2) paid emergency/personal days at the completion of his/her probationary period for the current school year. The GESSA employee shall receive his/her daily compensation for emergency/personal leave. 2. Emergency/personal leave days may be accumulated from year to year up to a maximum of four (4) days. Accumulated emergency/personal leave days in excess of four (4) days at the end of a fiscal year shall be added to the GESSA employee’s accumulated sick leave. 3. Emergency/personal leave shall be used for urgent personal or family matters that require the GESSA employee’s presence during the school day and are of such nature that they are impossible to transact at a later time, such as on weekends, after school hours, or during vacation periods. Emergency/personal leave may not be taken on the day before or following any legal or granted school holiday, nor may it be taken in conjunction with a GESSA employee’s vacation or leave without pay. The Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources may make exceptions to this stipulation in unusual circumstances. 4. Application for emergency/personal leave shall be made through established procedures by the GESSA employee through the GESSA employee’s immediate supervisor. Requests for emergency/personal leave are subject to approval by the GESSA employee’s supervisor, associate principal, and/or appropriate building administrator. The application shall be made at least one week before taking said leave, if possible. In the event of an emergency, the GESSA employee shall provide notice as soon as possible to the GESSA employee’s immediate supervisor. GESSA employees are not required to disclose the reason for the emergency/personal leaves unless the leave requested is directly before or after any legal or granted school holiday or the employee’s vacation time.

Time necessary for court appearances in any legal proceeding connected with the covered employee’s employment or with the school system will not be deducted from personal days or sick leave. 4. In addition, covered employees will be granted up to a maximum of two (2) days for mandatory court appearances. Additional days may be granted with prior approval from the Superintendent. 5. a. Covered employees may request a leave not to exceed five (5) days in the case of a death of a spouse, child, parent, custodial parent or spouse/life partner. These days must be taken within ten (10) calendar days of the death.

Emergency Personal Days. Full-time employees receive two (2) emergency/personal days per year and part-time employees receive two (2) emergency/personal days per year. These days are in addition to the sick days. When possible, advance notice shall be given to the Food Service Supervisor. A statement* marked Personal, signed by the employee, is acceptable for such leave. These days are cumulative as sick days. Personal days are to be granted for full days only. Emergency/personal days shall be prorated if employment begins or terminates during the school year.
Emergency Personal Days. If the employee fails to indicate this, no PTO or Emergency Personal Days will be retained. The term “one (1) week” of PTO shall mean the hours that the employee is normally scheduled to work based upon the job position he/she was awarded on the date of hire or based on job bidding. Thus, a full time employee working eighty (80) hours per pay period has the option to retain forty (40) hours of PTO. An employee working seventy-two (72) hours shall have the right to retain thirty-six (36) hours of PTO, A thirty- six (36) hour per pay period employee will have the right to retain eighteen (18) hours of PTO.
Emergency Personal Days. After one year of continuous employment a full-time employee may seek approval for the emergency use of one CTO day per calendar year due to extraordinary personal circumstances. After ten (10) continuous years of service a full-time employee may seek approval for the emergency use of two CTO days per calendar year due to extraordinary personal circumstances. Regular part- time employees shall be entitled to no more than one emergency CTO day per calendar year due to extraordinary personal circumstances. Emergency personal days shall be drawn from the employee’s existing CTO bank and do not represent additional CTO days. Emergency personal days may not be taken in less than full day increments. In order to qualify for such days, the employee must apply to the Director of Nursing in writing where possible and state the emergency or personal circumstances that necessitate the absence and make compliance with the normal procedure impossible. Such requests will not be unreasonably denied. Subject to approval, such absences shall not count as an unexcused absence for disciplinary purposes or for purposes of the incentive programs for attendance.

  • Personal/Xxxxx’s Leave 7.3.1 All full time employees shall be entitled to accrue paid personal / xxxxx's leave on the basis of 10 days per year (or pro-rata thereof for any period less than one year). Part-time employees are entitled to a pro-rata benefit. (b) attend the funerals of family or household members or close family relatives (if compassionate leave is not available in the circumstances). 7.3.4 The leave provided for in this clause will be granted subject to the following: (a) The employee must notify the employer of the reason and likely duration of the absence before 7.00 am on the first day of the absence, unless this is not possible due to an unexpected emergency in which case the employee must notify the employer as soon as practicable. (b) Where circumstances permit, an employee must endeavour to arrange leave to minimise the impact on operational needs. (c) The provision of appropriate documentary evidence. 1. For sick leave, a medical certificate or if not reasonably practicable to provide a medical certificate- a statutory declaration made by the employee. 2. For xxxxx's leave, a medical certificate in respect to the family or household member, or a statutory declaration by the employee. 3. For compassionate leave, any evidence that the employer reasonably requires. 7.3.5 The employee is not entitled to take more than 10 days of paid xxxxx’s leave (1/26th of the nominal hours worked by the employee) per year, regardless of the amount of personal leave the employee has accumulated over time. 7.3.6 An employee may request to cash out any amount of paid personal/xxxxx’s leave that they have accrued that is excess of 3/52 of the number of nominal hours worked over the past 12 months. For example, an employee working 38 hours per week over 12 months must retain 15 days of paid personal/carer’s leave and may cash out any further personal/carer’s leave that has been accumulated. 7.3.7 In addition to the above, a request to cash out personal/xxxxx’s leave will only be granted where: (a) the employee elects to cash out their leave in writing; and (b) the employer agrees. 7.3.8 Casual Employees engaged in continuous service shall be entitled to personal leave limited to the provision of sub clause 7.3.

  • Personal Illness Employees may use accumulated sick leave for hours off due to personal illness. The employee may be required to furnish a medical certificate from a qualified physician as evidence of illness or physical disability in order to qualify for paid sick leave as per District practice. Accumulated sick leave may also be granted for such time as is actually necessary for office visits to a doctor, dentist, optometrist, etc.

  • Personal Leave With Pay Full-time employees who are eligible to accrue sick leave may use up to a maximum of six days personal leave with pay per year provided that such days shall be charged against the employee's currently accrued sick leave. This leave is non-cumulative.

  • Personal/Carer’s Leave 18.1 Entitlement to paid personal/carer’s leave a) Paid personal leave will be available to an Employee (other than casual Employees) when they are absent due to: (i) personal illness or injury (sick leave); or (ii) for the purposes of caring for an immediate family or household member who is sick and requires the Employee's care and support (carer's leave). b) The amount of personal leave to which an Employee is entitled is as follows: (i) Upon commencement of employment Employees will automatically be credited with 5 days Personal and/or Xxxxx’s leave. After 6 months of employment, the leave will begin to accrue progressively up until it reaches 10 days at the conclusion of 12 months employment. (ii) Once the Employee has completed one year of continuous employment, the Employee shall be credited with a further ten days personal leave entitlement at the beginning of the Employee's second and subsequent year, which subject to clause 18.1(f) hereof, shall commence on the anniversary of engagement. c) In any year unused personal leave accrues. d) An Employee will inform the Company of the Employee's inability to attend for duty, and need to take personal leave, as soon as practicable. e) An Employee shall prove to the Company's satisfaction that the Employee’s Personal/Xxxxx’s leave is/was justified. Such evidence may be a medical practitioner’s certificate, or a statutory declaration. An Employee will not be required to provide such evidence for single days of absence but only where two or more consecutive days of absence are taken. f) If an Employee’s employment is terminated by the Company and is re-engaged within a period of six months, then the Employee's unclaimed balance of sick leave shall continue from the date of re-engagement. In such case the Employee's next year of service will commence after a total of twelve months has been served with that Company excluding the period of interruption in service from the date of commencement of the previous period of employment or the anniversary of the commencement of the previous period of employment, as the case may be. g) Unpaid carer’s leave will be in accordance with the NES. 18.2 Immediate family or household a) The entitlement to use personal leave for the purpose of carer's or compassionate leave is subject to the person being either: (i) a member of the Employee's immediate family; or (ii) a member of the Employees' household. b) The term immediate family includes: (i) a spouse, de facto partner, child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of the Employee; or (ii) a child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of a spouse or de facto partner of the Employee.

  • Handling Sensitive Personal Information and Breach Notification A. As part of its contract with HHSC Contractor may receive or create sensitive personal information, as section 521.002 of the Business and Commerce Code defines that phrase. Contractor must use appropriate safeguards to protect this sensitive personal information. These safeguards must include maintaining the sensitive personal information in a form that is unusable, unreadable, or indecipherable to unauthorized persons. Contractor may consult the “Guidance to Render Unsecured Protected Health Information Unusable, Unreadable, or Indecipherable to Unauthorized Individuals” issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to determine ways to meet this standard. B. Contractor must notify HHSC of any confirmed or suspected unauthorized acquisition, access, use or disclosure of sensitive personal information related to this Contract, including any breach of system security, as section 521.053 of the Business and Commerce Code defines that phrase. Contractor must submit a written report to HHSC as soon as possible but no later than 10 business days after discovering the unauthorized acquisition, access, use or disclosure. The written report must identify everyone whose sensitive personal information has been or is reasonably believed to have been compromised. C. Contractor must either disclose the unauthorized acquisition, access, use or disclosure to everyone whose sensitive personal information has been or is reasonably believed to have been compromised or pay the expenses associated with HHSC doing the disclosure if: 1. Contractor experiences a breach of system security involving information owned by HHSC for which disclosure or notification is required under section 521.053 of the Business and Commerce Code; or 2. Contractor experiences a breach of unsecured protected health information, as 45 C.F.R. §164.402 defines that phrase, and HHSC becomes responsible for doing the notification required by 45 C.F.R. §164.404. HHSC may, at its discretion, waive Contractor's payment of expenses associated with HHSC doing the disclosure.
