External Postings. All regular full time and regular part-time vacancies, other than Senior Public Health Nurse, will be posted for seven (7) calendar days and applications will be considered on an individual basis, however, the Employer shall have the right at its sole discretion to fill the vacancy from the applications or otherwise. Nurses are not eligible to apply for vacancies posted externally. All successful applicants to the internal and external job posting process shall remain in that assignment for one year before they are eligible to apply for another internal job posting. Despite the above, the Director of Population Health Division or their designate, may direct or authorize a nurse to change assignments before the expiration of the year. Current District employees that have not expressed interest during the In-Building and In-District selection process will be given preference over external applicants if equally qualified.

Such qualifications and requirements shall be those necessary to perform the job function and may not be established in an arbitrary or discriminatory manner.   • Job Postings The employee may apply for a job posting at either home based on their seniority at the designated employer. The vacancy will be filled in accordance with Article 9 of the collective agreement. Where seniority is the deciding factor the most senior candidate will be selected regardless of which home her/his seniority was accumulated.

A casual employee who bids into any vacancy pursuant to Article 17.03(A) and (B) above will have her status changed to regular for the duration of the time worked in the temporary position and will then revert to casual status.
