Extra-Curricular Salary Schedule. All extra-curricular assignments and the decision to fill any position will be made at the discretion of the School Board. Remuneration shall be consistent with the following schedules: A professional employee as listed on the following schedule involved in the extra-curricular program will have an experience factor of .25% added to the base percentage for every two years, to a maximum of eight (8) years and maximum of 1%. Voluntary Duties – Duties related to extracurricular activities shall be on a voluntary basis. Extracurricular activities are those activities in which students participate voluntarily. High School Athletic Director will be provided 15 extended contract days. The Athletic Director is intended to teach six class periods per year. If assigned to teach more periods they will be compensated at 1/12 of their base salary for each additional period. Professional Employees shall be given preference concerning extra-curricular assignments. Extra-Curricular Salary Schedule. A. Salaries for extracurricular positions are based on an established Index times the current minimum full-time teacher starting base salary. For a list of position titles and associated indices, please refer to Appendix A. B. The Board is not obligated to appoint or retain a teacher to any extra-curricular position listed. It is understood that the Board shall determine the number of positions in each designation on the extra-curricular schedule. The Board shall have the right to establish extra-curricular positions not presently listed, provided the compensation is comparable to other positions with similar duties and is discussed with the NACEA President, or her/his designee, before the position is filled. C. The School Board supports continued development of NACS students through summer activities when feasible. Upon receipt of a request to conduct a summer activity to enhance the development of NACS students, the Superintendent shall consider compensation for those directing the summer activity. a. If the Superintendent determines such an activity will be beneficial to the development of students, s/he will make a recommendation to the Board for its consideration. b. If approval is granted by the Board to pay stipends, the Board, with the recommendation of the Superintendent, shall determine the amount of the stipend. D. Work compensated for extra-curricular activities shall not be eligible for consideration through the Performance-Based Salary Compensation Program.

Extra-Curricular Salary Schedule. Extra-curricular salaries for each position listed in the schedule below shall be calculated at one of three experience levels, depending on the experience of the coach or advisor in the sport or activity for which he/she is to be paid. Each level shall have its own “calculation base” and each position listed below shall have its own “percentage multiplier.” The level one calculation base for a coach or advisor with one to five years of experience in his/her assignment shall be $30,000. The level two calculation base for a coach or advisor with six to ten years of experience in his/her assignment shall equal the compensation base for level 1 plus $5,000. The level three calculation base for a coach or advisor with eleven or more years of experience in his/her assignment shall equal the calculation base for level one plus $10,000. To determine the compensation for each extra-curricular coach or advisor, multiply the coach’s calculation base by the percentage multiplier listed for that coach’s or advisor’s position in the schedule below. Any teacher who is hired for an extra-curricular position shall be given experience credit for each full year he/she has previously worked in that same sport or activity and in the same position for which compensation is currently being calculated, whether that experience was with School District No. 25 or with another school district. Extra-Curricular Salary Schedule. All activity coaches/directors/advisors will receive compensation for their services based upon the following formula: % x current Moscow School District salary schedule base x experience index.
