Extra Work Assignments. Whenever, the Employer determines that extra work assignments are to be made to bargaining unit employees, other than in the Transportation Department, the following process shall be utilized:
Extra Work Assignments. Extra work assignments such as ticket sales, bus supervision for extracurricular and/or out of school hours and timekeeping of games will be made by the appropriate building principal. The amounts paid for these assignments are specified in APPENDIX C. Teachers working week-end assignments will be paid at one and one half (1 ½) times the regular rate.
Extra Work Assignments. 9.11.2.1. Extra work assignments are defined as any additional hours worked by an employee whose workday is less than eight (8) hours in any one day and/or less than forty (40) hours in any one calendar week, whether such hours are worked prior to or subsequent to an employee’s regular schedule, and shall be payable at the employee’s regular hourly rate or straight time.
9.11.2.2. Extra work assignments shall be offered by site and seniority on a rotating basis by classification. If no employee in the classification at the site accepts the assignment, it shall be assigned by the District from a seniority list on a rotation basis by classification.
9.11.2.3. Extra work assignments shall be documented on the applicable District form.
9.11.2.4. Any employee within the bargaining unit shall have the right to accept or reject any offer or a request for extra work assignments at regular time, overtime or compensatory time. If an employee rejects an offer or request for extra work assignments, his/her name will go to the bottom of the rotation system.
Extra Work Assignments. Extra work assignments such as ticket sales, bus supervision for extracurricular and/or out of school hours and timekeeping of games will be made by the appropriate building principal. The amounts paid for these assignments are specified in APPENDIX
Extra Work Assignments.
23.5.1 Definition Extra work is anything other than daily home-to-school routes.
Extra Work Assignments. When the District determines that extra work assignments that become available during the work year fall within the scope of work covered by the collective bargaining agreement between the parties, such assignments will be offered to bargaining unit members, if the work can be performed effectively outside regularly scheduled hours of work. Such assignments will be posted first for bargaining unit members and will be compensated at time and one-half (1 ½), once forty (40) hours of work have been completed in the same work week by the employee. The rate of pay for these positions will be based on the assignments classification and the starting rate for the position. If more than one bargaining unit member applies for the work, the District may choose the best qualified. Among equally qualified applicants, the seniority will control based on a rotational basis. If no bargaining unit members accepted the work, if may be given outside of the bargaining unit.
Extra Work Assignments. 32.3.1 An annual sign-up sheet will be posted by the Administration for bus/van drivers to register for extra work assignments as needed. Sign-up sheets must be posted on the day route selections take place and, drivers must sign up by convocation day. Names can be added to the list after convocation, however, the names will be added to the bottom of the list.
32.3.2 Extra work assignments may be such duties as: mileage check, pick-up, return of vehicles, washing buses, mid-day bus runs, paper work, and other non-routine duties as determined by the Transportation Supervisor.
32.3.3 A rotation schedule based on seniority will be established at the start of each school year to be used by the Transportation Supervisor in assigning extra work during the school year to those employees registered on the schedule. The signup sheet will be posted on a bulletin board provided for that purpose only. The rotation list will be posted in the drivers’ room.
32.3.4 The only exception to 32.3.2 and 32.3.3 above is as related to mid-day bus runs. In the event a driver who has a mid-day route is going to be absent from duty for three (3) or more consecutive days, the Director of Transportation Services or designee will assign, for purposes of continuity, the same driver. Selection will first come from seniority rated drivers who have expressed an interest, then any probationary drivers, then riffed drivers and finally substitutes. While filling in on an extended mid-day run, the driver will not be eligible for field trip selections that conflict with the time of the extended mid-day assignment.
Extra Work Assignments. 1. Extra Work Assignments are those runs that are not regularly scheduled morning and afternoon bus runs as described above. Extra Work Assignments include:
Extra Work Assignments. Trips, runs, shuttles and emergency work not assigned as part of basic daily work package or combo work package shall be known as extra work assignments. Drivers who wish to be considered for this extra work shall, at the beginning of the school year, sign on to the extra work lists. Any driver shall have the option to delete or add their name to these lists during the school year. Extra work assignments shall, if available, be offered to regular drivers who may pick extra work assignments on a continual rotation basis in order of seniority until the rotation has gone to the bottom and comes back to the top. Daily Mid-day and Daily Late Run List: Drivers with a permanent mid-day or permanent late-day run shall not be eligible, on days when the driver has a permanent run, for a temporary daily mid-day or late-day run until all eligible drivers have had an opportunity to choose a temporary run. Management shall have the right to pass over the next driver on the daily mid-day or daily late run pick list when the work assignment conflicts with the driver's basic daily work package or combo work package. In such an event, that driver shall remain next on the daily mid-day or daily late run pick list and be offered the next available assignment that does not conflict with the driver's basic daily work package or combo package schedule. If a mid-day or late run on the pick list becomes available for more than twenty (20) consecutive work days, that run shall then be posted and awarded as a permanent run as part of a driver's basic daily work package in accordance with Section 4 above. A permanent daily mid-day or permanent daily late-run belonging to a driver on leave of absence shall be placed on the daily pick list. If an employee takes over a permanent daily mid-day or a permanent daily late run for eight (8) consecutive weeks from another employee on leave that run shall be temporarily added to the employee's basic daily work package until the original employee returns. Extra work assignments which are posted or offered shall not be changed (e.g. from trip to shuttle) after they have been bid or accepted by the employee.
Extra Work Assignments. The assignment of coverage for absent driver’s mid-day runs, late runs, and last-minute trips will be accomplished through the utilization of three (3) lists – Mid-Day, Late Run, and Emergency Trip. Extra work will be assigned based on Seniority and will essentially be a Rotating Bid List beginning after the last person in seniority to receive extra work from the previous day.
