Frozen Sick Leave. 24.5.1 All Employees who were employed on June 2, l975 and not booked off sick will have their accumulated sick leave frozen as of May 3l, l975. Employees booked off sick on June 2, l975 will have their accumulated sick leave frozen on the day they return to work. The frozen sick leave may only be used when the annual allotment and accumulated sick leave has been completely used up or to supplement short-term disability (weekly indemnity) benefits up to one hundred per cent (100%) basic salary for a maximum of one hundred and five (l05) calendar days of any one (1) leave. 24.5.1 Employees shall be paid one-third of all unexpended sick leave credits accumulated prior to June 1, 1975, at their salary rate on the date they elect to receive this payment or on date of termination.
Frozen Sick Leave. In accordance with Article 13.07 (b) upon termination of employment an employee shall be entitled to one-half (½) of the number of sick days standing to their credit in the frozen sick leave bank on the basis of the employee's regular weekly basic rate of pay divided by five. The amount shall be the maximum of six (6) months' salary. In the event of death, this cumulative sick leave credit shall be paid to the employee's beneficiary.

Employees not retiring under the City's CalPERS contract shall forfeit the 40% of "frozen" sick leave.
Frozen Sick Leave. Those employees, who had “frozen” sick leave to their credit when the pre 2012 Sick Leave Plan was terminated, shall receive maximum RRSP contributions each year made by the employer on July 1st until the balance of the individual employees’ sick leave accounts are paid in full or the employee retires. Upon retirement, termination or death remaining balances will be paid in lump sums. All payments will be paid at the July 1st, 2011 rates.
Frozen Sick Leave. As of July 1, 2012, employees who had accumulated sick leave up to June 30, 2012 shall have all such sick leave hours frozen, in hours and in cash value, in a separate sick leave bank (“Bank B”). Frozen Sick Leave. Cash Payment Provisions: Association members who retire, retire due to disability, or are deceased prior to retirement, after a minimum of fifteen (15) years of regular employment, will be paid three percent (3%) of their unused Frozen Sick Leave for each year of service. Payment shall be calculated at the Association member's hourly rate at the time of payment. Tier I employees payment shall be calculated at employees current hourly base pay rate and the three percent (3%) Off-Salary-Schedule Pay combined. Under no circumstances shall the amount paid exceed the value of the total unused Frozen Sick Leave balance in the Association member’s account. Members who retire, retire due to disability, or are deceased prior to retirement after a minimum of 25 (twenty-five) years of regular employment shall be paid 100% of their unused Frozen Sick Leave. Payment shall be calculated at the employee’s hourly rate at the time of payment. An Association member has the option of a cash payment or a delay in the date of retirement as the method for receiving unused Frozen Sick Leave. Employees who are laid off as a result of Reduction in Force, after a minimum of fifteen (15) years of regular employment, will be paid three percent (3%) of their unused Frozen Sick Leave for each year of service. Payment shall be calculated at the employee's hourly base pay rate at the time of payment plus, for Tier I employees, the three percent (3%) Off-Salary-Schedule Pay. Under no circumstances shall the amount paid exceed the value of the total unused Frozen Sick Leave balance in the employee’s account. A laid-off employee with Frozen Sick Leave who is not eligible to retire will receive a cash payment according to the above terms upon separation.”
Frozen Sick Leave. Cash-Out: Deputy Fire Chief and Battalion Chiefs who resign from the City with a minimum of twenty (20) years of service with the City shall be eligible to receive three percent (3%) of the Frozen Sick Leave for each year of service with the City. Deputy Fire Chief and Battalion Chiefs who leave City service for any reason with a minimum of twenty-five (25) years of service with the City shall be eligible to receive one hundred percent (100%) of their Frozen Sick Leave account. Payment shall be calculated at the employee's current hourly base pay rate at the date of separation from City service. Under no circumstances shall the amount paid exceed the value of the total unused Frozen Sick Leave balance in the employee’s account.”
Frozen Sick Leave. Employee’s sick leave balances will be frozen (“frozen sick leave”) at the end of the 2013 payroll year. Any such balance would continue to be carried over from payroll year to payroll year until qualified retirement from the Company. At such time, any remaining frozen sick leave will be converted as provided in Article 13. Frozen sick leave may only be used: (1) for the three (3) day eligibility period to commence Short Term Disability (“STD”) benefits; (2) to supplement STD pay; or (3) in connection with an approved leave of absence under the FMLA, ADA or any other approved leave of absence.
