LEAVE OF ABSENCE - COURT APPEARANCES. 11.07.01 Employees will be granted time off due to Jury Duty, Coroner's Inquest or when required as a court witness in accordance with the following: 11.07.02 Witness Employees who are called by subpoena as a witness to testify before a Court or Coroner’s inquest in cases other than those provided in Article 16.07.02 will receive a leave with pay for the duration of their appearance in Court. This doesn’t include an employee directly or indirectly involved as a party to a proceeding or a Union witness where the Union is a party to a proceeding. 11.07.03 Jury Duty Employees who are called to act as a juror will receive a leave with pay according to the following schedule: First two weeks of absence: 100% of their salary. Next 24 weeks of absence: 75% of their salary After 26 weeks of absence: without salary. 11.07.04 The employee salary continuance benefit pay is reduced by an amount equal to that received from the Court (excluding monies allowed by the Court specifically for meals, travel and other such expenses) for those days on which he or she missed one half or more of any scheduled work day. 11.07.05 The employee has to submit all relevant documents and information to HR as requested.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE UNION BUSINESS Employees who have been elected appointed to carry out business by the Union on a full-time basis shall be granted a Leave of Absence for this purpose. The Union will advise the Company of the name(s) of such employee(s), the term of such and the specific purpose. The Union shall repay the Company for the Company’s costs incurred in Employee Benefit Plans and the employee(s) shall continue to pay their contributions directly to the Company. The Company shall provide such employees with free and reduced-rate transportation in accordance with Company regulations. Such employees shall continue to accrue seniority and service while on of absence. LEAVE OF ABSENCE BEREAVEMENT When a death occurs in the immediate family of an employee, the employee shall be granted Bereavement Leave up to calendar days, at the employee’s option, of which not more than three will be with pay. Such leave will normally commence with the first day following the death or advice of death. Immediate family is defined as: spouse (including common-law spouse), children of employee and spouse, parents of employee and spouse, grand-parents of employee and spouse, grand-children of employee and spouse, brothers and sisters of employee and spouse, and including other residing with the employee. In unusual circumstances where the deceased is not a member of the immediate family guardian), Xxxxxxxxxxx Leave will be at the discretion of the Company. Additional leave without pay up to a maximum of fifteen calendar days may be granted without reference to Article SICK LEAVE Sick benefits which are presently enjoyed by employees will not be reduced during the term of this Agreement. An employee valid for transfer, change of status or change of classification, has not due to sick will offered the vacancy at the requested location or base. Employees who misuse sick shall be subject to disciplinary leave benefits will not be withheld as a form of discipline for work performance or other non-related matters.

  • LEAVE OF ABSENCE 17 8 1 The University may, upon request of a Member, grant a leave of absence without pay for a period not exceeding 12 consecutive months . Upon return from such approved leave without pay, and after 17 8 6 Three months prior to the commencement of such leave the University shall inform the Member in writing of all agreed terms and conditions upon which the granting of leave is based and specify a deadline for acceptance or rejection of the said terms and conditions . 17 8 7 The Member shall not be deemed to have accepted the terms of such leave of absence until he/she has so notified the University in writing. Failure to accept within the deadline specified in 17.8.6 shall be deemed to constitute non-acceptance .

  • Personal Leave of Absence The Administrator may grant a request for leave of absence for personal reasons without pay provided that he receives at least one (1) month's clear notice, in writing, unless impossible, and provided that such leave may be arranged without undue inconvenience to the normal operations of the Nursing Home.
