Payment of holiday pay. 1. A full time employee who does not work due to the holiday shall receive a full shift of holiday pay. A part-time employee who is on pay status between fifty (50) and seventy-five percent (75%) of full time shall receive seventy-five percent (75%) proportionate holiday pay. A part-time employee who is on pay status for between seventy-six (76) and one hundred percent (100%) of full time shall receive one hundred percent (100%) holiday pay. 2. An employee who works on a holiday shall receive appropriate holiday pay and shall also receive double time pay for the hours actually worked on the declared holiday. 3. An employee whose regular day off falls on a holiday shall receive appropriate holiday pay or another day off at the option of the University. The decision made by the University shall be final and not subject to the Grievance or Arbitration Procedures set forth in this Agreement. 4. An employee who fails to report on a holiday when scheduled shall not receive holiday pay unless the employee's failure to work is excused because of (1) personal sickness or injury as provided in Article 21, Sick Leave, or (2) other extraordinary circumstances beyond the control of the employee which cannot be corrected in time for the employee to meet the employee's employment obligation.

The holiday pay payment shall cover those holidays to which the employee was entitled and otherwise eligible during the preceding calendar year.

In the sole discretion of the Fire Chief, he/she may offer light duty personnel and unit members on special detail (approved by the Fire Chief) the option to reduce their end of the year holiday payment rather than use leave to cover County approved holidays.

  • List of Holidays The Employer recognizes the following paid holidays: New Year’s Day Labour Day Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Christmas Day Easter Monday Boxing Day Victoria Day Civic Holiday (deferred to Christmas Shutdown) Canada Day Plus, any other day(s) declared or proclaimed as a Statutory Holiday by the Federal or Provincial Government. The Employer shall post a list no later than December 15th of each year stating on which day the Civic Holiday and any other deferred holiday will be observed.

  • Number of Holidays (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only)

  • Holiday Coinciding with a Day of Vacation Where an employee is on vacation leave and a day of paid holiday falls within that period, the paid holiday shall not count as a day of vacation.

  • Payment of Annual Leave Upon resignation, retirement, or dismissal of any employee in the bargaining unit, he/she shall receive a sum equal to the number of days of annual leave remaining to his/her credit, provided that any or all amounts may be applied to offset any amounts owed the state by the employee. In the event of death of an employee while in the bargaining unit, a sum equal to the number of days annual leave remaining shall be paid to his/her estate.

  • Holiday Pay A. On each of the holidays designated above, each full-time employee scheduled to work but permitted to take the day off shall receive pay computed at the employee's basic hourly rate for the number of hours the employee was regularly scheduled to work. B. On each of the holidays designated above, each part-time employee scheduled to work but permitted to take the day off shall receive pay computed at the employee’s basic hourly rate for the number of hours the employee was regularly scheduled to work.

  • Observance of Holidays The Board of Trustees may establish calendars that observe holidays on dates other than those listed above, or as modified by current institutional practices.

  • Sunday Premium Any employee who is required to work at any time on a Sunday shall be paid a Sunday premium in addition to their regular hourly rate of pay in the amount of seventy-five (75¢) cents per hour, for each such hour and portion of an hour worked. Sunday premium pay shall not be added to an employee's hourly rate of pay for the purpose of computing overtime. The provisions of this Article shall not apply to the “in charge” employees referred to in sub-articles 23.03 and 23.04 of this Agreement.

  • Public Holidays falling within Annual Leave (a) If a Public Holiday, as prescribed in this Agreement, falls within an Employee’s annual leave the Public Holiday does not constitute part of the Employee’s annual leave and will be paid as ordinary hours.

  • Accrual of Annual Leave (a) An employee shall accrue an amount of paid annual leave, for each completed 4 week period of continuous service with the employer, of 1/13 of the number of ordinary hours worked by the employee for the employer during that 4 week period. (b) Annual leave shall accrue on a pro-rata basis and be credited to the employee monthly.

  • Holiday Compensation Compensation for each paid holiday day not taken out is 4.6 % of the current monthly salary and holiday supplement according to 9.4.1 and 9.4.
