Personal Leave (PTO a. 24-Hour Shift Employees: Fire Suppression employees (including 40-hour line eligible employees in the academy and on light duty) will be credited with sixty (60) hours of PTO at the end of the pay period that includes March 1st of each year making PTO available to use the first full pay period in March. PTO can be used at the employee’s discretion. Upon hire, new employees will be credited with a prorated amount of PTO based on the time period between hire and the next PTO accrual in March, however new employees are not eligible to use PTO until they have been employed for six (6) consecutive months. Fire Suppression employees shall use the same procedure for using PTO as currently used for sick leave. A maximum of five (5) 24-hour slots will be available for personal leave each shift. If personal leave usage is at the maximum the morning prior to the start of a shift, personal leave can be placed in any open vacation or compensatory slot. PTO can only be used in blocks of twelve (12) hours. Use of PTO will not be allowed on observed holidays as specified in 15.7 with the following exceptions:

Personal Leave (PTO. 1. For the 2023-2024 school year, each full time bargaining unit member shall be allowed three (3) days personal leave (as defined by statute) each year without loss of pay. A bargaining unit member shall not use more than five (5) personal days in that school year. Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, all leave granted for the year shall be Paid Time Off (PTO), except that bargaining unit members in their first year shall be granted 3 sick leave days.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Personal Leaves 8.11.4.1 As approved by the Board, personal leaves without pay may be granted in cases of exceptional need for up to six (6) months. Any such leave exceeding one (1) semester shall not be counted toward tenure or promotion or for computing salary increments. Each member of the bargaining unit who is regular full-time, in an active pay status, is eligible for ten (10) days of sick leave and three (3) days of personal leave annually. No member of the bargaining unit shall lose the accumulated allowance of unused days of sick leave/personal leave by reason of having been absent for a period without pay, nor shall the employee accumulate any additional days of allowance during the absence. Faculty members needing to use sick/personal days shall fill out the requisite forms according to official College procedures.

  • Extended Personal Leave Personal leave without pay not to exceed thirty (30) 26 days may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent. Personal leave in 27 excess of thirty (30) days shall be subject to approval by the Board.
