School Cancellation. All regular seniority employees will be paid for any day when school is canceled by an Emergency School Closing, such as storms, etc. This provision will result in no loss of pay nor increase in pay as a result of an Emergency School Closing day that must be rescheduled.
School Cancellation. A. All regular seniority employees will be paid for any day when school is canceled by an Act of God such a storms, snow, etc., which is not rescheduled.
B. If a regular employee reports to work on a day when school is canceled by an Act of God and the day is to be rescheduled, the employee will be paid for the time worked on the rescheduled day.
C. If a regular employee reports to work on an Act of God day, due to the District failing to announce the school cancellation or is required to work any portion of that day, the employee will be paid for the hours worked in addition to A or B above.
School Cancellation. A. In the event school is canceled due to inclement weather or conditions not within the control of the district, the following procedures will apply:
1. Employees shall not be required to report to work.
2. Employees will receive their regular rate of pay for regular contracted runs, during that day in the event the district makes up such days, employees will be expected to work on those days for no additional pay. If an employee has been paid and does not drive on the make-up day, the amount they were previously paid will be deducted from their last pay of the year. Hourly employees may use sick time to receive regular pay for this day. If weather days are made up no additional payment will be made. Special runs will represent 1/3 of a sick day used.
3. If an employee is scheduled to take a sick day, personal day or a no pay day and a snow day or act of God day is called, they will not be charged for the day off.
B. Any instance that shall cause an employee to work more than 176 days, shall result in the employee being paid for time actually worked. Employees driving part of their runs on canceled days, that are required to be made up, shall be paid two hours at the extra trip rate. Pay for these days will be added to their last pay of the year.
School Cancellation. In case of school cancellation, school-year (10-month) employees will not be expected to report for work unless they are so directed by their Principal or immediate supervisor. In the case of extreme weather conditions, 12-month employees will be expected to report for work unless they are so directed not to report by their Principal/designee or for the employees at Central Office their immediate supervisor.
School Cancellation. In the event of school cancellation due to weather or other circumstances, announcements will be made beginning at approximately 6:00 a.m. through the school notification network, the Mater Christi website, Facebook page, and local television and radio stations.
School Cancellation. 1. For this article, Year Round Employees (Fleet Mechanic, Skilled Maintenance, Year Round Custodian/Bus Driver, Secretaries, and Head Xxxx) will report at their regular time and work their normal shift. The Superintendent, at his/her discretion, may alter the schedule of the day and the employees will suffer no loss of wages for that day.
2. For this article, School Year Employees (School Year Custodian/Bus Driver, Certified Title I Aides, Assistant Xxxx, Teacher Aides, Monitors, and Cashiers/Scanners) will be notified of the closing of school and will not report for work and will not be paid for the day.
School Cancellation. 1. Days when school is canceled for students because of conditions beyond the control of the District, such as storms, fires, epidemics or health conditions, paraprofessionals will not be required to work and shall suffer no loss of pay. No paraprofessional will be compensated for make-up days worked that were previously compensated. It is understood, however, that employees will be paid for any rescheduled days beyond the maximum allowed to be excused by the State.
School Cancellation. 19.4.1 The parties agree that the District shall be in compliance with Section 1284 of the Revised School code and the Rules established for the implementation of that section. As such, "the first two (2) days when pupil instruction is not provided because of conditions not within the control of school authorities, such as severe storms, fires, epidemics, or health conditions as defined by the city, county, or state health authorities, shall be counted as days of pupil instruction. Subsequent days shall not be counted as days of pupil instruction."
19.4.2 In the event school is canceled prior to the start of an employee's work day due to inclement weather or other conditions (19.4.1) not within the control of the District, the following shall apply:
19.4.2.1 Operations personnel and secretaries shall report to work and shall be paid at their regular rate for the day. Compensatory time shall be granted one (1) hour for every one (1) hour worked. Operations personnel and secretaries not reporting to work shall be paid their regular rate of pay if the day is counted as a day of pupil instruction. (19.4.1). If the day is not counted as a day of pupil instruction, the employee may use compensatory or emergency time, as per Article 11.2.3, to receive pay for this non-pupil instruction day. If the immediate supervisor or superintendent informs the above employee(s) not to report to work (pupil instructional/ non-instructional day), said employees shall be paid the regular rate of pay.
19.4.2.2 Clerical Aides, Classroom Paraprofessionals, Hearing Impaired Classroom Paraprofessionals, Playground/Cafeteria Aides shall not be required to report to
1). If the day is not counted as a pupil instructional day, the employee(s) may use emergency time, as per Article 11.2.3 to receive compensation for said day.
19.4.3 In the event school is canceled after the start of an employee's work day due to inclement weather or other conditions not within the control of the District (Article 19.4.1), the following shall apply:
19.4.3.1 Operations personnel and Secretaries shall be paid their regular rate for the day until school is canceled. For the balance of day employees shall be paid their regular rate plus compensatory time of one (1) hour for every hour
School Cancellation. The school office and maintenance staff with a two hundred twenty-five (225) workday calendar or more shall report to work and if unable may use District closure leave before using personal leave time. One school maintenance employee may be designated by the District as emergency crew and will report to work as is safely possible and be paid as emergency crew. Employees with less than a two hundred twenty-five (225) workday calendar shall not report to work and may use District closure leave or personal leave for closure day(s). If the District elects to make up school closure day(s), employees with less than a two hundred twenty-five (225) workday calendar shall report to work.
School Cancellation. 24.1. In the event that school is called off because of an unforeseen emergency situation, including inclement weather:
A) Each 52 week per year (full-year) employee shall be expected to report for work as near to their regularly scheduled starting time as possible, provided the Central Office has not been closed for that particular day. If an employee is unable to report for work under such conditions, they/them shall so notify their immediate supervisor, and with the approval of their supervisor, the employee may credit such absence as either a vacation day or a personal day provided such leave has not already been exhausted. In the event that such permission is not granted or such leave has been exhausted, this absence shall be without pay. If the Superintendent of Schools determines that conditions are such that the Central Office is to be closed on a given day, all full year employees covered by this policy shall be notified not to report for work and shall be paid for the day(s) in question.
B) Each school-year employee shall not report for work. Such absence shall be without pay due to the fact that such canceled days are normally rescheduled later in the school year or accrued vacation time may be used.
C) In the event that there is a delay of school for any reason, 10 month employees will be paid for their regular scheduled hours for that day.
