Shift Work Overtime. 28.4.1 An Employee engaged on Shift work must be paid at overtime rates instead of the shift loading if: a) the Employee has not had a least 48 hours’ notice of Shift work; or b) the Shift worker is not regular shift worker (as defined in this Agreement); or c) the Shift work is performed outside the Employee’s ordinary hours of work.

Shift Work Overtime. For all time worked in excess of the nominal working hours (ie more than 8 hours per day/38 hours per week, on a weekend, or a public holiday) prescribed by this Agreement on a shift, an Employee shall be paid in accordance with the overtime provisions in this Agreement.
Shift Work Overtime. All overtime work performed in connection with shift work shall be at one and one-half (1½) times the assigned shift rate.

Shift Work Overtime. (a) All time worked by a Shift Worker outside of or in excess of the ordinary working hours of their shift will be overtime. Payment will apply at 150% of the ordinary rate of pay. Additionally, 30 minutes time off in lieu of overtime payment will apply as per clause 0 (the paid rate in addition to the time accrued being equivalent to a double time rate). (b) An employee who is required to work more than five (5) consecutive Night Shifts in one week shall have all subsequent shifts, Friday and/or Saturday night, paid at double time and half (250%) for all hours worked. No time will accrue.

(b) Except in each case where the time is either worked: ▪ By arrangement between the employees themselves. ▪ For the purpose of effecting customary rotation on shifts. ▪ On a shift to which an employee is transferred on short notice as an alternative to standing the employee off in circumstances, which would entitle the employer to deduct payment for a day. Provided that when not less than eight hours notice has been given to the employer by a relief worker that the employee will be absent from work and the employee whom the employee should relieve is not relieved and is required to continue to work on the employee’s rostered day off the unrelieved employee shall be paid double time. * These rates are in substitution for, and not cumulative upon the prescribed shift loadings.

  • HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME Section 15.1 This Article is intended to define the normal hours of work per day or per week in effect at the time of execution of this Agreement. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as preventing the Employer from restructuring the normal workday or workweek as necessary to promote efficiency or improve services, or from establishing the work schedules of employees. However, nothing in this Section shall relieve the Employer of its duty to bargain the affects of such decisions on employee wages, hours, terms and other conditions of employment. This Article shall be used as the basis for computing overtime for employees who are not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day or per week. Section 15.2 Employees may take one paid fifteen (15) minute break for every four (4) hour block worked. Employees may combine breaks to take up to one (1) sixty (60) minute paid break. Employees may not leave campus on their paid breaks. Section 15.3 Bargaining unit employees who are not exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid one and one-half times their normal hourly rate for all hours actually worked in excess of forty (40) hours per work week. All overtime shall have prior supervisory approval, except when it is necessary for a nurse to remain on duty to protect patient safety. Only hours actually worked are counted for the purpose of computing an employee's eligibility for overtime pay. There shall be no pyramiding of hours or pay. Section 15.4 The Board serves individuals 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. To meet this need for service to our individuals evening and weekend hours may be required of any bargaining unit employee. The Employer will establish the standard work day as beginning at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 5:59 a.m. and starting and ending times for each shift in each department. Supervisors will establish daily workschedules. Section 15.5 Absent an emergency situation, management will notify the Union in the event management intends to institute a long-term change in the present shift times for nurses. Following notification and upon request by the Union, management will meet with the Union to discuss the reason for the change and possible alternatives.

  • Shift Work Shift work is work not in excess of ordinary hours (ie 38 hours per week), but carried out wholly or partly between the hours of 7.00pm and 7.00am, Monday to Friday. Shift work is work scheduled at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the shift. Employees required to work shift work will be paid at time and one quarter of the ordinary rate per hour for ordinary hours worked.

  • HOURS OF WORK AND OVERTIME 16.01 Employees will be scheduled to work not more than twenty-four (24) hours in any one pay week, excluding summer months (May, June, July, August). Further shifts, including regularly scheduled shifts which are posted after the schedule has been established, will be allocated by seniority, it being understood that an employee may drop another regularly scheduled shift for this purpose. (a) Summer employment will be granted to such employees who have notified, in writing, the Operations Manager, by April 1 of their availability for summer (May, June, July, August) employment. (b) Employment starting the following September and January will be granted to such employees who have notified, in writing, the Operations Manager, by August 1 and December 1 respectively of their availability for employment in that semester. (c) Employees shall be allowed to remove a regularly scheduled shift from their schedule if they notify their respective supervisor/ manager, in writing, at least five (5) calendar days in advance of the start of the shift in question.

  • Overtime Overtime will begin to accrue after sixty (60) hours in a two (2) week period averaged over the scheduling period determined by the local parties. Overtime will apply if the employee works in excess of the normal daily hours. Payment for overtime is as in Article 16.01.

  • Shiftwork 28.1 In this clause Shiftwork means work comprising recurring periods in which different groups of workers do the same jobs in rotation. 28.2 Shiftworker for the purposes of this clause is defined as an Employee who is required by the Employer to work Shiftwork, which commences or finishes outside 6.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.

  • Shift A full-time shift shall normally consist of a nine (9) consecutive hour time period, determined by the University, of which one hour shall be used for a lunch period without compensation. A one-half hour lunch period may be substituted for the one hour lunch period with prior approval of the supervisor. With the approval of their supervisor and the Human Resources Office, schedules of less than forty (40) hours per week or a shift change may be elected by staff members.

  • Overtime Pay ‌ Overtime pay shall be paid to the employee on the next paycheque after the expiration of the pay period in which the overtime was earned except as provided in Article 16.6 (Compensating Time Off) below.
