Sick Leave Exchange. The Board of Education has established a leave sharing program for all certified teachers. The program shall permit district employees to donate or receive sick leave. Sick leave may be donated to and/or received by employees within Muskogee Public Schools. The recipient must be pregnant or recovering from, or who is suffering from an extraordinary or severe illness, injury, impairment, or physical or mental condition that has caused or is likely to cause the employee to take leave without pay or to terminate employment. Sick Leave Exchange. Any permanent employee may exchange accrued sick leave for pay or for additional leave time as appropriate, in accordance with the options provided the employee, subject to the following provisions:
Sick Leave Exchange. All employees eligible for a normal retirement on or before December 31, 2010 shall have the following sick leave exchange and service time purchase opportunity: i. The ability to exchange fifty (50) days of accrued sick, vacation or annual leave for which they would otherwise be paid at retirement for one year of added service for eligibility and benefit accrual purposes, and in addition, may also purchase a year of additional service for eligibility and benefit accrual purposes at the rate of thirty percent (30%) of current salary/year. ii. The total service time gained through accrual exchange may not exceed three (3) years and the total gained through a combination of accrual exchange and purchase may not exceed four (4) years. Purchase of service may include transfer of funds from qualified 457 Plans (Deferred Compensation) to the Defined Benefit Plan to the extent permitted by IRS Regulations.
Sick Leave Exchange. Employees may exchange sick leave for personal leave at a 2:1 ratio. This option may only be used twice a year per employee. All exchanges must be approved by a supervisor prior to the use of the requested leave and cannot exceed two personal days per year. Employee may exchange sick leave which does not cause the employee's accumulated sick leave balance to fall below the yearly amount afforded to them per the negotiated agreements. Sick Leave Exchange. All employees who are covered by this Agreement and maintain a sick leave "bank" of nine hundred and sixty (960) hours are eligible to cash in two (2) days of sick leave for one (1) day of personal leave, for a maximum of three (3) personal days. After this exchange, one additional personal leave day may be granted for the exchange of one sick leave day which increases the aggregate total of available personal leave days to seven in any school year.
Sick Leave Exchange. Employees who have accrued more than ninety (90) days (seven hundred twenty hours) of sick leave may exchange such sick leave for bonus (additional) leave days at the rate of three (3) days of sick leave for each additional leave day, not to exceed a total of five added leave days annually, utilization of which would be subject to the scheduling and approval by the Department Head.

Sick Leave Exchange. For employees who retire on or after the date of the Award, the existing formula for payment of accumulated sick leave at retirement shall be amended so that employees shall be compensated at 50% of their accumulated sick leave at retirement, except that employees who have accumulated 2,500 hours or more of sick leave at retirement shall instead be compensated at 60% of all such time.

Sick Leave Exchange. Any permanent employee may exchange accrued sick leave for pay or for additional leave time as appropriate, in accordance with the options provided the employee, subject to the following provisions: A) Employees who have accrued less than 720 hours of sick leave may exchange sick leave for additional vacation days or for cash as follows: 1) Upon retirement or death the employee's accrued sick leave up to 720 hours or less will be exchanged for pay at the rate of 50% of the employee's current base pay. Effective January 1, 1988, maximum payment shall be $6,250. 2) Upon termination under honorable conditions, as distinct from retirement or death, the employee's accrued sick leave up to 720 hours or less will be exchanged for pay at the rate of 25% of the employee's current base pay. Honorable termination includes layoff for budget reasons, as well as resignation with at least fourteen (14) calendar days notice. Effective January l, 1988, maximum payment shall be $6,250. B) Employees who have accrued 720 hours or more of sick leave may exchange sick leave for additional vacation days or for cash subject to the following provisions: 1) Upon retirement or death, the employee's accrued sick leave up through a maximum of 720 hours will be exchanged for pay at the rate of 100% of the employee's current base pay.
