Sick Leave Option. The employee shall have the option of requesting the difference between his/her take home pay and the Workers’ Compensation payment to be deducted from accumulated sick leave.
Sick Leave Option a. A sick leave donation program is established to assist employees who suffer a catastrophic illness or injury not job related or whose spouse, son, daughter, mother or father suffers a catastrophic illness or injury necessitating the employee to be absent from work, when the employee will exhaust all other available paid leave. This program neither supersedes nor replaces other disability programs.
Sick Leave Option. 27.8 Notwithstanding Article 27.4, a Teacher who is not eligible for E.I. benefits may request sick leave for up to the first thirty (30) days from the date of delivery if such Teacher has at least thirty (30) days of accumulated sick leave to her credit.
Sick Leave Option a. “Catastrophic illness or injury” is defined as a critical medical condition considered to be terminal, or a long-term major physical impairment or disability.
Sick Leave Option. For the term of this collective bargaining agreement, a Sick Leave Option is extended to existing Detectives cun•ently on the payroll. The Option provides that an eligible Detective that opts to voluntarily leave employment with the County, shall receive Sick Leave termination benefits for unused, accumulated sick days paid in accordance with the following schedule: Participation Decision Sick Leave ($/days) Through August 31, 2018 * Up to 120 days @ ctu•rent rate of After September 1, 2018 through Up to 60 days @ current rate of December 31, 2019 pay *An irrevocable decision to retire must be made by August 31, 2018, with the effective date of retirement to be on or before December 31, 2018. Eligibility Requirements: • Must be a current Detective as ofNovember 3, 2017 (the issuance of the Award). Must have continuous service (no break in service) from date of hire to date of decision to exercise and participate in this Option, with the exception of when a Detective is fm•loughed and subsequently recalled by the County. Must be age 55 or older. • Must meet retirement eligibility requirements of the County Pension Plan.
Sick Leave Option. Employees have the option to donate their sick time to another employee who has incurred a prolonged illness or injury. Members on Workers Compensation shall not be eligible for donated sick time. Applications for sick bank coverage are to be submitted for review to a special committee, comprised of three (3) members selected by the Marseilles ESP Association IEA-NEA and two (2) members selected by the Superintendent or his/her designee. Applications shall state the cause for the absence and expected dates of the leave. The application shall be accompanied by a note from the attending physician which clearly confirms the illness and expected recovery period. The committee may demand a second evaluation by another physician before determining the status of the application. The committee shall be responsible for authenticating the claim of illness or injury as well as ascertaining the eligibility of the members to draw on the bank. The committee shall make recommendations to the Board of Education regarding sick bank applications. The decision of the Board of Education shall be final and not subject to the grievance procedure. The bank shall be administered by the committee.
