Sick Leave Sharing Program. A. This "Sick Leave Sharing Program" adopted by the Board of Education of Xxxxx Public Schools on March 11, 1996 permits district employees to donate sick leave to a fellow district employee who is pregnant or recovering from childbirth or who is suffering from or has a relative or household member suffering from an extraordinary or severe illness, injury, impairment, or physical, or mental condition which has caused or is likely to cause the employee to take leave without pay or to terminate employment.
B. Definition of Terms used in this program:
Sick Leave Sharing Program. The District shall establish a Sick Leave Sharing Program for regular full-time employees under the following guidelines.
Sick Leave Sharing Program. A. A full-time employee may donate sick leave to another employee for the following reasons:
1. The donee has exhausted or will exhaust all earned sick leave due to an extraordinary or severe injury, illness, impairment, pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth and recovery there from or physical or mental condition on the donee; or
2. The donee has exhausted or will exhaust all earned sick leave due to an extraordinary or severe injury, illness, impairment or physical or mental condition of a relative (spouse, child, stepchild, grandchild, grandparent, stepparent or parent); and
3. The condition has caused or is likely to cause the donee to take leave without pay or to terminate employment.
4. The employee may donate any amount of sick leave, which does not cause that employee’s sick leave balance to fall below thirty (30) days.
5. An employee may receive up to ninety (90) donated days.
6. An employee requesting donated days must first provide the Board with a medical certificate from a licensed physician or Health Care Provider (HMO) verifying the severity or extraordinary nature and expected duration of the condition. The certificate shall be on the physician’s letterhead.
7. The employee receiving donated days is to receive his or her normal rate of pay.
8. All sick leave available for use by the donee must be used prior to using shared sick leave.
9. Shared sick leave available for usage records shall be maintained separately from regular sick leave records.
10. Any donated sick leave, which is not used, shall be returned to the donating employee on a pro-rated basis.
11. The Board is the determining body as to whether the donee meets the criteria as defined in this Section and has previously abided by District leave policy.
Sick Leave Sharing Program. Pursuant to applicable law, the District and the TCTA agree to the following Sick Leave Sharing Program: Sick leave days may be donated from one District teacher to another within the following guidelines:
Sick Leave Sharing Program. 12.1 This regulation implements and supports the Leave Sharing Program Policy established by the Board of Education and the Education Association. For the purposes of this regulation, the following definitions shall apply:
Sick Leave Sharing Program. Employees who are members of this Bargaining Unit may participate in the District Leave Sharing Program. Under the provisions of this program, the District shall receive and process requests noted herein.
A. An employee who has an accrued sick leave balance of more than twenty-two (22) days may request a transfer of a specified amount of sick leave to the Leave Bank. In no event may such an employee request a transfer that would result in their sick leave account going below twenty-two (22) days. Employees volunteering to participate in this program will fill out a “Request to Transfer Sick Leave” form and submit it to the District. Days shall be converted to hours.
B. An employee shall be entitled to receive leave under this section pursuant to Chapter 392- 136A WAC.
C. The value of the leave transferred shall be based upon the leave value of the person receiving the leave.
Sick Leave Sharing Program. The operation and administration of the Sick Leave Sharing Program shall be by the Administrative Office. A full-time employee may donate sick leave to another employee without loss of incentive benefits for the following reasons:
1. the donee has exhausted or will exhaust all available sick leave due to an extraordinary or severe: injury, illness, impairment or physical or mental condition of the donee, including pregnancy, miscarriage, or childbirth and recovery therefrom; or
2. the donee has exhausted or will exhaust all available sick leave due to an extraordinary or severe injury, illness, impairment or physical or mental condition, including pregnancy, miscarriage, or childbirth and recovery therefrom, of a relative (spouse, child, stepchild, grandchild, grandparent, stepparent or parent) or household member (one who resides in the same home as the employee and who shares a duty to provide financial support with the employee) of the donee; and
3. The condition has caused, or is likely to cause, the donee to take leave without pay or to terminate employment. The employee may donate any amount of sick leave which does not cause that employee's sick leave balance to fall below 25 days. Use of days shall be limited to one (1) occurrence within two (2) consecutive contract years. The maximum number of days granted per application shall be limited to the maximum accumulated sick leave days the employee has at the beginning of the year of the application not to exceed 100 days. Should an employee's maximum accumulated days be less than twenty-five (25), he/she shall be granted up to twenty-five (25) days. An employee requesting donated days must first provide the Superintendent or designee the most current FMLA form or other district approved form, which must contain the recommended beginning and ending dates of the requested leave, verifying the severe or extraordinary nature and expected duration of the condition. Employees desiring to donate days shall complete a written authorization transferring days to the ill or injured employee. Donations will be accepted in a chronological sequence until the requested number of days is reached. Surplus donations will be returned to the donor(s). The employee receiving donated days is to receive his or her normal rate of pay. Exceptions may be allowed only by appeal to and approval of the Board of Education. (Amended 2013)

Sick Leave Sharing Program. The County agrees to allow a yearly donation of twenty-four (24) hours under the County’s Sick Leave Sharing Program.
Sick Leave Sharing Program. A. Professional Educators may donate sick leave to another Professional Educator who is pregnant or recovering from childbirth or who is suffering from or has a relative or household member suffering from an extraordinary or severe illness, injury, impairment or physical or mental condition which has caused or is likely to cause the Professional Educator to take leave without pay or to terminate employment.
