SICK LEAVE USEAGE. Employees will have sick leave taken on a scheduled eight (8), eight and a half (8 ½), nine (9) or ten (10) hour day reflected on the time sheet and the hours taken will be charged against the sick leave accrual. Sick leave with pay shall only be used for the following reasons:

SICK LEAVE USEAGE. A. Leave with pay may be allowed to full-time employees for any of the following reasons, where facts are established to the satisfaction of the Employer.
SICK LEAVE USEAGE. Employees will have sick leave taken on a scheduled eight or ten hour day reflected on the time sheet and the hours taken will be charged against the sick leave accrual. Sick leave with pay shall only be used in the event of illness of the employee, or illness of a member of the immediate family (as defined in Article 12.6 – Family Member) Normally employees shall schedule doctor and dentist appointments during off duty hours. However, when impracticable to do so, employees may utilize sick leave for doctor and dentist appointments. The Association agrees to do all in its power to discourage any misuse of sick leave privileges and further agrees that any employee proven to have misused sick leave privileges shall be subject to disciplinary action. Cash-Out. Employees are authorized to receive severance pay for accumulated sick leave at the rate of one-half (½) of the accumulated sick leave upon retirement after five (5) years’ service, but in no event, to exceed payment for four hundred sixty (460) hours. The severance pay shall only be paid if the employee is eligible to retire under the Public Employees Retirement System, or in the event of death of the employee.

Normally employees shall schedule doctor and dentist appointments during off duty hours. However, when impracticable to do so, employees may utilize sick leave for doctor and dentist appointments. Where an employee is injured in the performance of duties or as a result of suspect aggression, the period of time during which the employee is being treated for such injury shall count as time worked pending conclusion of treatment, admission to in-patient, release from that immediate treatment, or end of shift, whichever is later. Subsequent time off from regularly scheduled hours shall be charged to sick-time and/or referred for workers comp (see also Article 13.5)

  • Sick Leave Use Sick leave will be charged in one-tenth (1/10th) of an hour increments and may be used for the following reasons:

  • Sick Leave Donation In accord with state law and Medical Center policy, RN’s may donate sick leave to any employee entitled to receive such donations.

  • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.

  • Sick Leave Allowance Faculty with a full-time assignment shall accrue sick leave at the rate of eight

  • Sick Leave Usage A. Sick leave may be used for an employee or an employee's child, spouse or parent's illness or injury, hospitalization and appointment pertaining to health.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Sick Leave Pool is intended to provide security after all other insurance benefits have been exhausted, by allowing employees to buy insurance for extended illness, or other disability. When "buying" pool days, employees convert earned days on a one (1) to three (3) basis. Similar to purchasing insurance, the employee may pick a given number of days to exchange for coverage in case of extended disability. Pool days are available for use only under the conditions listed below, and are not eligible for payout at retirement or termination.

  • Sick Leave Days Subject to paragraphs d) i-vi below, permanent full-time Teachers will be allocated eleven (11) sick days at one hundred percent (100%) salary in each school year. Teachers who are less than full-time shall have their sick leave allocation pro-rated.
