Supplemental Days. 19 All employees will be required to work five (5) supplemental days for training, professional development, 20 student learning activities, and/or work related to the building’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. 22 If an employee is sick, he/she may use sick leave and must call in their absence to the Principal/program 23 administrator and the substitute office automated attendance system. In addition, the employee shall contact 24 the Principal/program administrator for missed content and/or assignments. Part time and job share employees 25 will be required to work and will be paid for 7.5 hours on such days regardless of their FTE. Required days 26 will be paid through the term of each employee’s contract in equal monthly payments, according to each 27 employees per diem, except in circumstances where an employee’s pay has been stopped.
Supplemental Days. 18 All employees will be required to work six (6) supplemental days for training, professional development, 19 conferencing preparation, student learning activities, and/or work related to the building’s Comprehensive
Supplemental Days. 2.1 Administrators will be paid five (5) supplemental days in recognition of the workload in supervising events, weekend meetings, parent conferences and other outside of the work day activities.
2.2 Three (3) additional days will be provided and worked at the discretion of the Superintendent. These dates will be identified by the Superintendent no later than May 1 of the current contract year, for the upcoming (following) contract year. In the event an administrator is unable to attend a Superintendent Directed Day, administrators may convert to supplemental day upon Superintendent approval.
2.3 The High School Principal shall be given an additional three (3) supplemental days for work above and beyond the school day
2.4 The High School Assistant and Associate Principal, and the Middle School Principal shall be given an additional two (2) supplemental days for work above and beyond the school day
2.5 The Middle School Assistant Principal shall be given an additional one (1) supplemental day for work above and beyond the school day
Supplemental Days. In an anniversary year where an employee completes the minimum number of years of service to qualify for the next higher level in the vacation schedule, the employee, after reaching the employee’s anniversary date, shall accrue credits at the higher rate equivalency for the days set forth under the Vacation Credit column.

B. Employees may work a maximum of twelve (12) *supplemental days.
1. Five (5) days must be for in-service or for District-approved activities. Five (5) days shall be teacher-validated days. They must be used to improve classroom instruction, for curriculum development, or in support of the school’s learning improvement plan and must be worked by July 31. Two (2) days shall be for collaboration. Included will be time allowed for opening and closing of school. One-half (.5) One (1) day shall be added for certificated staff with seventeen (17) or more years of experience and shall be teacher- validated.
2. Special education teachers, SLPs, psychologists and nurses can use up to four (4) in-service days of professional growth during a summer institute program or other professionally recognized training.
C. Participation in the program shall be optional with each employee and shall be separate and apart from the regular contracted services. Staff members will be eligible to participate in the program in the same ratio as their service bears to full-time service. The time will be paid on an hourly basis. This rate will be calculated at each employee's per diem, one-one hundred eightieth(l/180) of the annual salary rate, excluding all supplemental contracts, divided by seven
Supplemental Days. 1. The first supplemental work day will be scheduled before the start of school for onsite preparation of classrooms and instructional materials. This work day shall include an association meeting not to exceed one hour in duration.
2. The second supplemental work day will be scheduled for semester break for secondary teachers and 1st trimester break for elementary teachers and will be used for classroom preparation, bookkeeping and/or preparation of student report cards. For teachers with both elementary and secondary assignments, the teacher will choose which day or combination of half days to work and will notify the principal at least 30 days prior.
3. The third supplemental work day will be agreed upon each year as part of the school calendar decision making process. This on or off campus, teacher-directed day could be added anytime during the school year for professional development activities, school improvement process work, or as a work day for teachers to have in their classrooms (work on grades, purchase orders, cleaning up/organizing the classroom, etc.).
4. The fourth, fifth and sixth supplemental days will be allotted for staff to receive professional development, as arranged by the District in August of each school year. The District will be allotted one hour at the beginning of the fourth supplemental day for the purpose of meeting with staff before beginning the school year.
5. Teachers new to the District will be paid one additional day’s pay to be scheduled by the respective administrator prior to the first supplemental day for the purpose of orientation to the Quilcene School District. The respective administrator will be responsible for the day’s activities and agenda.
6. The dates for these days will be set at the time the calendar is agreed upon. For these days employees will be paid at their per diem rate. Part-time employees will be paid for actual time worked, not to exceed one full day. If the district experiences a significant reduction of the PEARL program student numbers, a reduction of the State’s allocation in small school grant funds, or a loss of funding provided through local levy dollars, this will create an automatic opener for negotiating supplemental days.
Supplemental Days. Included in a supplemental contract will be three (3) mandatory and three (3) optional per diem days.

Recognizing the need for certificated staff to prepare classrooms and materials for the first day of classes in the Fall, the morning preceding the beginning of school will be used by the district for orientation activities. The last half of the day will be reserved for individual teacher directed classroom preparation.
b. The second mandatory day will include a parent conferences and/or record days taken at the semester break.
c. A third mandatory day will be scheduled prior to the start of the school year and its use determined by the district.
