Weekend and Holiday Overtime. All work on Saturday will be paid at time and one-half (1 ½ x) the regular hourly wage rate. All hours worked on Sunday and holidays will be paid at double (2x) the wage rate.

However, an employee who declines weekend/holiday offered after Thursday at 3 pm will not be charged any overtime hours. (Where possible, the Company will try to offer weekend overtime to employees on the afternoon shift Wednesday, on the night shift on their shift commencing at 10:30 pm Wednesday and on Thursday for employees on the day shift.) If an employee is on vacation when weekend/holiday overtime is offered, and there is no answer to the tele- phone call, the employee will not be eligible to work the weekend/holiday overtime, even if the employee later contacts the Company before the actual weekend/holiday overtime is worked unless additional employees are needed at the time the employee later contacts the com- pany. In this event, the employee on vacation is not charged overtime hours. The Company will contact employees who are off work for any reason with a Union representative present. If the call is made prior to 3 pm Thursday, the employee will be charged with the applicable overtime hours whether they accept or decline the overtime. If the call is made after 3 pm Thursday, the employee will not be charged if they do not answer the call. (This is to avoid follow up on Thurs- day or Friday for absent employees and adjusting over- time accordingly.) For the purpose of this Article, “Holiday Overtime” will be considered Paid Holidays falling on a Friday, Monday, or any Holiday between and including the days celebrated as Christmas and New Year’s Day. All other Paid Holi- days will be treated as weekend overtime, except the “Thursday 3 pm deadline” referenced above will be 3 pm on the second regular workday prior to the Paid Holiday (ie. 3 pm Monday for Wednesday Holiday overtime.) On Thursday by 6:00 p.m. the Employer will post the overtime work available and the names of the employees that are scheduled to work.

Weekend and Holiday Overtime. (a) For employees classified in Labour grades one (1) through eight (8) inclusive, overtime on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays shall be on a voluntary basis, distributed in accordance with Article 17.07.
(b) For employees classified in Labour Grades nine (9) and ten (10), the Company shall assign overtime of Saturdays, Sundays , and Holidays according to the following provisions:
(i) The Company will notify the Union and the Employees in the relevant classifications of overtime requirements at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance.
(ii) If at least forty-eight (48) hours of notice is not given, then the overtime will be voluntary.
(iii) If Saturday, Sunday, or Holiday overtime is required, the Company will canvas the employees in the required classifications for volunteers to satisfy the overtime requirements. The Company will make every attempt to notify employees of such overtime requirements by the end of the shift on Thursday. Such overtime shall be distributed in accordance with Article 17.07. When there are not enough volunteers, the Company shall have the right to acquire the necessary employees in the required classification to work as scheduled starting with the employee with the least number of overtime hours worked in the previous two (2) week work periods, in the classification, until the overtime requirements are satisfied.
(iv) Any dispute arising out of the application, interpretation or alleged violation of this Article shall be subject to the Grievance procedure.
Weekend and Holiday Overtime. The Company will post by Wednesday a notice requesting employees to volunteer for weekend or holiday overtime. In the event that less than an entire department is needed for such overtime work, employees who have volunteered for such overtime and who have the present qualifications to perform the work in the department will be scheduled to work, beginning with the most senior volunteers. If there are no qualified volunteers in the department, the plant wide volunteer list will be used to assign the available work assignment to the senior qualified employee. If an entire department is needed for such overtime work, or there are not a sufficient number of volunteers who have the present qualifications to perform the work, the Company will post notice of scheduled overtime by 3:30 p.m. on Thursday (by 7:00 a.m. Thursday for third shift employees). If less than an entire department is needed for posted weekend and holiday overtime and there are not enough qualified volunteers, the lowest seniority employees in the department who have the present qualifications to perform the work will be the first ones required to work the overtime. If employees have been given notice of such scheduled overtime, and the overtime is then cancelled later than 7:00
a. m. Friday morning, the employees who were scheduled but cancelled shall not be required to work overtime the next week-end. It is understood that the following list of departments apply only to the provisions of this Article 9, Section 2, Weekend and Holiday Overtime. These departments are subject to change depending upon the then-present business demands of the Company, in which event the Company will provide advance notice to the Union and meet to discuss the changes. Support Personnel: When twelve (12) hour shifts are worked, the starting time for each shift shall be eztablizhed within one (l) hour of l2:00 a.m. and l2:00 p.m., unlezz mutually agreed to the contrary by the partiez. The pay for the firzt eight (8) hourz of any twelve (12) hour shift, Monday through Friday, shall be paid at the regular hourly wage rate (1x), and time and one-half (1½x) the regular hourly wage rate shall be paid for the balance of the shift.
Weekend and Holiday Overtime. Cafeteria Management will post a notice of overtime on Wednesday in the week prior to the weekend or holiday overtime schedule. Employees who are desirous of working the overtime that is available, must sign the list their to work such overtime. On the preceding the scheduled overtime, Management will remove the list and review the names of those employees who are desirous such overtime along with the needs of the area working such overtime and will advise those employees who are scheduled to work the overtime. Those employees scheduled to work the overtime will be scheduled first within in their own cafeteria then by location by shift. Not withstanding, the above location ma develop it's own overtime system mutually agreed upon between The Company and The Union. A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING REGARDING EACH LOCATIONS OVERTIME SYSTEMS SHALL BE FILED WITH THE UNION. THE SYSTEM OF SCHEDULING OF OVERTIME SHALL BE DEVELOPED WITH JOINT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE UNION AND MANAGEMENT. MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REVERT BACK TO ARTICLE 17: PARAGRAPH If an insufficient number of employees have applied to work such overtime, management will staff such assignments by inverse seniority. It understood by the parties that employees assigned to the Sunday Night Shift start shall have exclusive right to overtime worked on the shift of Friday. It is understood by the parties that employees assigned to a night start after shall be considered a morning shift.
