Calling Procedures. (a) the Employer shall advise the person designated by the Union as the calling xxxxxxx as soon as possible, but not less than ninety-six (96) hours prior to the time of the call, unless the Employer does not have sufficient information to set the call and so advises the Union.
(b) Any of the Technical Director, Assistant Technical Director or the Production Manager shall, on behalf of the Employer, advise the Calling Xxxxxxx of the time of the call, the number of Temporary/Casual Employees required, the category of work for each Temporary/Casual Employee, the approximate times and lengths of meal breaks, and the approximate duration of the call.
(c) Subject to the Employer’s prior written approval, the Union shall not fill a call with any Temporary/Casual Employee if it results in either:
(i) the Employee having a split shift; or
(ii) the Employee having less than 10 hours between shifts.
(d) If the Employer wishes specific persons to fill head positions, a list of the members of the Union that the Employer wished to employ, including alternates, will be given to the Calling Xxxxxxx.
(e) The Union shall endeavor to accommodate the Employer's request.
(f) If less than forty-eight (48) hours’ notice is given for a call, then subsection (d) shall not apply, and nothing shall require the Union to supply the specific Temporary/Casual Employee(s) requested.
(g) The Calling Xxxxxxx shall inform the Employer in a timely manner that the call has been filled and provide the names of the Temporary/Casual Employee or, if the call is still not filled twenty-four (24) hours prior to when needed, then provided the Employer advised the calling xxxxxxx not less than ninety-six (96) hours prior to the time of the call, the Employer may hire other persons of sufficient ability.
(h) Replacements or substitutions for Temporary/Casual Employees hired for running crew will not be allowed except in the case of illness, injury, discipline for just cause, or at the request of either the Union or Employer and agreement of the other;
(i) Both the Employer and the Union will make every attempt to provide a gender- balanced workforce.
(j) All Department Head positions shall be the first hired and the last to be dismissed.
Calling Procedures. 24.1 Except in an emergency, TTR shall provide a minimum two (2) hour call in advance of the required on-duty time except that TTR shall not be required to call employees performing assigned service with a fixed start time. Further, the minimum time for a call may be reduced upon request of an employee or by agreement between TTR and an employee and the Union.
24.2 Employees who are called and cancelled prior to their ordered on duty time shall be paid a minimum of two (2) hours of pay at their regular straight time rate of wages. Employees who are called and who have commenced work shall be paid a minimum of eight (8) hours pay at their regular straight time rate of wages and at their regular straight time rate of wages.
24.3 Where a spare board employee is called to work a regular assignment, the regular employee will have the preference as to what position he wishes to work (switchman or engineman).
24.4 When two employees are called for an assignment, the senior employee will have preference as to what position he wishes to work (switchman or engineman).

(d) in the event of an emergency call replacement or a vacancy with less than 24 hours’ notice, the Employer will endeavor to hire from the Call List, then the Union Call List, but failing that may fill the call as they see fit.
Calling Procedures. 17.1 The Union shall dispatch qualified and competent Employees to work based upon seniority and availability.
Calling Procedures. 3.1. Jointly determined calling procedures are contained in Appendix D of this Agreement. Any disagreements will be escalated to the Director, Labour Relations and the General Chairmen.
3.2. Employees in ESR service will only be called when they have a full 10-hour clock. Such limitations will not be applied to employees in ESR service who are being called to deadhead. Employees will require a full 12-hour clock in order for Appendix B to apply.
3.3. Off duty times for crews will be determined when they arrive at the designated rest facility.
Calling Procedures. Article 17.2 is amended to read in its entirety as follows:
Calling Procedures. 14.01 The employee shall have a telephone, cellular telephone or a pager in order to be called and contacted at all times. He must provide the Employer with his numbers.
14.02 The employee must normally be called at least two (2) hours before the required hour for his tour of duty, except in cases where circumstances prevent such advance notice. In such a situation, the employee shall be required to present himself as soon as safely possible. When the employee has to report outside of his terminal, the employee shall have a right to expenses in accordance with Article 17.
14.03 Spare employees will cover regular assignments, unassigned assignments and spare list.
14.04 There are two (2) spare lists at Farnham. One for the Locomotive Engineers and one for the Conductors. Based on operational needs, the Employer can create a Conductor spare list or a Locomotive Engineer spare list or both, in Sherbrooke.
14.05 The employees on the spare list mentioned at Article 14.04 will be called on a first-in, first-out basis.
14.06 If a Locomotive Engineer or a Conductor is required at a home terminal, this assignment shall first be offered to the most senior Locomotive Engineer or Conductor, as applicable. The least senior Locomotive Engineer or Conductor, as applicable, of this home terminal shall accept this assignment if no other employee desires the assignment. If no employee can fulfill the assignment, this assignment shall be fulfilled by an employee of a remote home terminal, starting by the most senior employee to the junior of this remote home terminal. The junior of this remote home terminal shall accept this assignment if no other employee desires the assignment. The employee shall have the right to expenses in accordance with Article 17.00.
a) An employee shall be “out of service” or “ill”, for a minimum period of twelve (12 hours).
b) An employee who “misses” or “refuses” a call, shall be placed on the list upon the return of the employee who has been called for the position and shall be placed behind such employee or twelve (12) hours later.
c) The employee who "misses" or "refuses" a call, may, after twelve (12) hours of waiting for his position, be placed on availability. If there is no available employee, the twelve (12) hours shall be applied at the Employer's discretion.
14.08 An employee cannot be unavailable if there are not enough available employees on the spare list, except in cases of emergency or illness.

Calling Procedures. 6.1 Local 118 agrees to supply qualified Casual Employees to perform work as required by CTYP, which may request a specific individual who must be a member in good standing of Local 118. Local 118 will endeavor to accommodate such requests. However, nothing herein shall require Local 118 to provide the specific person or persons requested.
6.2 Local 118 agrees to make best efforts to supply the same Casual Employees for all set- up, run and strike calls for any given CTYP production.
6.3 A call for Casual Employees shall be made in the following manner:
A. A request for employees (a “call’) shall be made as soon as possible but not less than seven (7) days before the time of the call. The requirement for seven (7) days’ notice shall be waived when circumstances beyond the control of CTYP prevent such minimum notice being given.
B. When CTYP requires Local 118 to dispatch Casual Employees, CTYP must advise Local 118 dispatch of the following:
(i) Time of the call,
(ii) The number of employees required,
(iii) The category of work for each employee,
(iv) Any basic tool, dress, or PPE requirements, if applicable,
(v) A preliminary work schedule based upon information available at the time of the call.
C. If Local 118 is unable to supply qualified Casual Employees, CTYP may hire employees elsewhere. Such persons shall register with Local 118 as permittees and shall be covered by this Agreement.
Calling Procedures. Employees who have submitted availability will be called in order of seniority. The call out procedure will be as follows:
1) When shifts need to be filled within 24 hours, the manager will call available employees in order of seniority, then wait five minutes for a response before calling the next person, until the shift is filled.
2) When shifts need to be filled between >24 hours and seven days after notification, the manager will text available employees in order of seniority, then wait two hours for a response before calling the next person, until the shift is filled.
3) When a shift that commences more than seven days after notification is to be filled the manager will text available employees in order of seniority, then wait 12 hours for a response before calling the next person, until the shift is filled.
4) If a shift is not filled and there is less than seven days before the shift is to commence, the procedure outlined in 2) above, will be followed. All calls must be recorded in a logbook. The logbook sheet will show: • the time and date of the call; • the employee being called; • the shift they are being offered; • whether the employee accepts, refuses, does not respond to call, or left a message; • the initials of the staffing person calling; and • the Employer will provide a list of acronyms to be used in recording the logbook.
Calling Procedures. The parties agree the Unions proposal on calling procedures will be established by the Regional Steering Committee established to monitor and oversee extended runs.
