A special Career and Technology Education committee shall be established that is composed of three (3) members selected by the Union and three (3) members selected by the Board and shall meet quarterly with the Director of Career Readiness. G. Every effort shall be made that Career and Technology Education teachers shall teach no more than three (3) different course titles per semester. H. Career and Technology and Education teachers shall be provided with professional development to support establishing and maintaining partnerships for the Program Advisory Committees (PACs) of each pathway and to enhance student apprenticeships and career opportunities.
Career and Technology Education. All Parties Agree To The Following: If a monetary wage is paid, it should be fair compensation and include a provision for equal pay for equal work. The training shall be on-the-job and in the related career area to facilitate the process by which the trainee will become proficient in the occupation. The coordinator of the cooperative training will coordinate the on-the-job experiences, will make contact with the on-site supervisor, and will work cooperatively with the employer to provide the necessary guidance. The parent or guardian shall be responsible to the school for the student who is participating in the cooperative method of instruction. Students are responsible for maintaining book and contacting the school in case of absence. Safety instructions will be provided by the employer as well as a safe work environment Worker’s compensation will be provided as specified in the training plan. This agreement may be terminated after consultation with the coordinator, for due cause, or for unforeseen business conditions. Students may lose co-op positions if they do not contact coordinator on days when sick and out of work. The training agency shall conform to all state, federal, and local laws, provide the student with a variety of learning experiences, and shall provide a progress report for the student for each grading period. Students will be accepted and assigned to jobs and receive equal treatment without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, handicap, or other disadvantage. Abide by all policies and procedures contained in handbook/written plan not listed above.   • EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING 1. The State agrees to provide advice and counseling to employees with respect to career advancement opportunities and agency developments which have an impact on their careers. 2. Regular review of its job-related and career development and training programs will be made by the State in order to provide suitable programs for employees covered by this Agreement. When undertaking any such review, the State shall notify employees of such review and take into account suggestions and proposals made by employees. 3. Employees shall be given a reasonable notice of applicable, development and training programs available. Such notice shall include an explanation of the procedure for applying for the program. Notices of development and training programs shall be posted for reasonable periods in advance on bulletin boards at applicable work locations within the agencies involved. An appointing authority shall make every effort to permit employees' participation in such career development and training programs. Participation in any training inside or outside of work hours which is required by the State as a condition of fulfilling the requirements of the employee's job, or any in-service State training which is conducted or undertaken during normally scheduled work hours will be considered as time worked. 4. The State shall pay tuition, course-related fees, other approved course required costs and for necessary travel and lodging pursuant to established policies and procedures.

  • Manufacturing Technology Transfer Upon AbbVie’s written request with respect to a given Collaboration CAR-T Product and Licensed Product, Caribou shall effect a full transfer to AbbVie or its designee (which designee may be an Affiliate or a Third Party Provider) of all Materials and Know-How Controlled by Caribou relating to the then-current process for the Manufacture of such Collaboration CAR-T Product and any corresponding Licensed Products (each, a “Manufacturing Process”). Caribou shall provide, shall cause its Affiliates to provide, and shall use Commercially Reasonable Efforts to assist AbbVie in causing all Third Party Providers to provide, all reasonable assistance requested by AbbVie to enable AbbVie (or its Affiliate or designated Third Party Provider, as applicable) to implement each Manufacturing Process at the facilities designated by AbbVie. If requested by AbbVie, such assistance shall include facilitating the entering into of agreements with applicable Third Party suppliers relating to such Collaboration CAR-T Product and any corresponding Licensed Products. Without limitation of the foregoing, in connection with the Manufacturing Process and related transfer: (a) Caribou shall, and shall cause its Affiliates to, make available to AbbVie (or its Affiliate or designated Third Party Provider, as applicable), and shall use Commercially Reasonable Efforts to assist AbbVie in causing all Third Party Providers to make available to AbbVie, from time to time as AbbVie may request, all Materials and Manufacturing-related Know-How Controlled by Caribou relating to each Manufacturing Process, including methods, reagents and processes and testing/characterization Know-How, and all documentation constituting material support, performance advice, shop practice, standard operating procedures, specifications as to Materials to be used, and control methods, that are necessary or reasonably useful to enable AbbVie (or its Affiliate or designated Third Party manufacturer, as applicable) to use and practice such Manufacturing Process; (b) Caribou shall cause all appropriate employees and representatives of Caribou and its Affiliates, and shall use Commercially Reasonable Efforts to assist AbbVie in causing all appropriate employees and representatives of Third Party Providers, to meet with employees or representatives of AbbVie (or its Affiliate or designated Third Party Provider, as applicable) at the applicable manufacturing facility at mutually convenient times to assist with the working up and use of each Manufacturing Process and with the training of the personnel of AbbVie (or its Affiliate or designated Third Party Provider, as applicable) to the extent necessary or reasonably useful to enable AbbVie (or its Affiliate or designated Third Party Provider, as applicable) to use and practice such Manufacturing Process; (c) Without limiting the generality of this Section 4.4.2, Caribou shall cause all appropriate analytical and quality control laboratory employees and representatives of Caribou and its Affiliates, and shall use Commercially Reasonable Efforts to assist AbbVie in causing all appropriate analytical and quality control laboratory employees and representatives of Third Party Providers, to meet with employees or representatives of AbbVie (or its Affiliate or designated Third Party Provider, as applicable) at the applicable manufacturing facility and make available all necessary equipment, at mutually convenient times, to support and execute the provision of all applicable analytical methods and the validation thereof (including all applicable Know-How, Information and Materials Controlled by Caribou, and sufficient supplies of all primary and other reference standards); (d) Caribou shall, and shall cause its Affiliates to, take such steps, and shall use Commercially Reasonable Efforts to assist AbbVie in causing Third Party Providers take such steps, as are necessary or reasonably useful to assist AbbVie (or its Affiliate or designated Third Party Provider, as applicable) in obtaining any necessary licenses, permits or approvals from Regulatory Authorities with respect to the Manufacture of the applicable Collaboration CAR-T Products and corresponding Licensed Products at the applicable facilities; and (e) Caribou shall, and shall cause its Affiliates to, provide, and shall use Commercially Reasonable Efforts to assist AbbVie in causing Third Party Providers to provide, such other assistance as AbbVie (or its Affiliate or designated Third Party Provider, as applicable) may reasonably request to enable AbbVie (or its Affiliate or designated Third Party Provider, as applicable) to use and practice each Manufacturing Process and otherwise to Manufacture the applicable Collaboration CAR-T Products and corresponding Licensed Products.

  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT A. The Board of Education agrees to pay the actual tuition costs of courses taken by a teacher at accredited colleges or universities up to three courses per two (2) year fiscal periods from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2008 and July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2010 respectively, except as follows: 1. No teacher may be reimbursed for courses taken during the first year of teaching in Vineland. 2. Teachers taking courses in the second and third years of employment in Vineland will not receive remuneration until tenure has been secured. The remuneration will then be retroactive and will be paid to the teacher in a lump sum within sixty (60) days after the teacher has secured tenure. 3. All courses must be pre-approved by the Superintendent or his designee subject to the following requirements: (a) A teacher must provide official documentation that he/she has obtained a grade of B or better; (b) Reimbursement shall be paid only for courses directly related to teacher’s teaching field which increase the teacher’s content knowledge and are related to the teacher’s current certification, as determined by the Superintendent or his/her designee in his/her sole discretion; no reimbursement shall be paid for courses leading to a post graduate or professional degree in a field other than education or teaching. Further, effective September 1, 2010, all newly hired teachers shall not be eligible for reimbursement until they are tenured, and they shall not be eligible for retroactive reimbursement upon gaining tenure for courses taken prior to being tenured. (c) The maximum total payments to be made by the Board shall not exceed $130,000.00. Courses shall be applied for no earlier than the following dates: Summer Session - April 1 Fall/Winter Session - June 1 Spring Session - October 1 Courses must, as set forth hereinabove in this sub-article 18.A.3, be pre-approved by the Superintendent or his designee, prior to the teacher commencing the course(s); and (d) Teacher taking courses shall sign a contract requiring them to reimburse the Board for all tuition paid for a course if the teacher shall voluntarily leave the employ of the Board within one (1) full school/academic year of completion of said course, except that reimbursement shall not be required when the teacher shall voluntarily leave the employ of the Board due to a significant, documented life change. 4. Tuition reimbursement costs shall be a sum not to exceed the actual cost of college credits charged in an accredited public State college/University of the State of New Jersey. B. When the Superintendent initiates in-service training courses, workshops, conferences and programs designed to improve the quality of instruction, the cooperation of the Vineland Education Association will be solicited. Notwithstanding the above, the initiation of in-service training courses, workshops, conferences and programs shall be determined solely at the discretion of the Board. C. One professional leave day may be granted to a teacher upon request, according to the following guidelines: 1. The professional day may be for attendance at a workshop, seminar or visit to another school for the expressed purpose of self professional improvement for the job. 2. The request shall arrive in the office of the Superintendent of Schools at least ten (10) working days prior to the date requested and shall be reviewed by the immediate supervisor prior to submission. The Board reserves the right to deny a professional leave day before or immediately following a holiday or on a day which by its nature suggests a hardship for providing a substitute. 3. No more than two teachers from any one elementary school or from any one department in the secondary schools may be granted a professional leave for a given day. 4. The teacher may be required to submit a report to the Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendent, supervisor (s), principal and staff regarding the activity of the professional day. 5. Costs incurred by the teacher for the professional day authorized under this Section shall be the teacher’s responsibility. 6. A maximum of 90 professional leave days may be authorized for the school year which shall be apportioned as follows: elementary, 35; grades seven and eight, 20; and high school, 35. D. If the Board initiates a teacher’s attendance at a professional workshop, seminar or visit, the expenses shall be the responsibility of the Board. Further, this day shall not be subtracted from the 90 professional leave days granted to teachers of the Association. E. The Board agrees to pay the full cost of courses taken by secretaries related to skills and knowledge improvement when such courses are required and approved by the Board. F. The Board and the Association agree that it is important to communicate when developing and implementing current and future learning technologies, including but not limited to distance and on-line learning.

  • Technology Access Contractor expressly acknowledges that state funds may not be expended in connection with the purchase of an automated information system unless that system meets certain statutory requirements relating to accessibility by persons with visual impairments. Accordingly, Contractor represents and warrants to System Agency that the technology provided to System Agency for purchase (if applicable under this Contract or any related Solicitation) is capable, either by virtue of features included within the technology or because it is readily adaptable by use with other technology, of: • providing equivalent access for effective use by both visual and non-visual means; • presenting information, including prompts used for interactive communications, in formats intended for non-visual use; and • being integrated into networks for obtaining, retrieving, and disseminating information used by individuals who are not blind or visually impaired. For purposes of this Section, the phrase “equivalent access” means a substantially similar ability to communicate with or make use of the technology, either directly by features incorporated within the technology or by other reasonable means such as assistive devices or services which would constitute reasonable accommodations under the Americans With Disabilities Act or similar state or federal laws. Examples of methods by which equivalent access may be provided include, but are not limited to, keyboard alternatives to mouse commands and other means of navigating graphical displays, and customizable display appearance. In accordance with Section 2157.005 of the Texas Government Code, the Technology Access Clause contract provision remains in effect for any contract entered into before September 1, 2006.
