Department Supervisor Duties. Department Supervisor duties under this Contract are to provide Department Supervisor services consistent with the duties necessary to effectively and smoothly administrate the Department. Such duties include duties as assigned by the Building Principal, Maintenance Supervisor, Director of Operations, and Superintendent, and include but are not limited to: JOB GOALS: Provide leadership and direction to custodial personnel in maintaining a school in a safe, clean and healthy environment for students and staff members. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Coordinate the work schedules of building custodians. 2. Direct and assign personnel to specific jobs and tasks within the framework of their job description and work to be completed. 3. Inform principal of major equipment failure, needed repairs and maintenance of building. 4. Submit requests for and maintain inventory of custodial supplies in building. 5. Clean, dust mop, scrub and wax resilient floors as needed to protect floor finish. 6. Dry mop floors in rooms and hallways. 7. Clean and vacuum carpeting in rooms and hallways. 8. Stock machines and/or towel dispensers. 9. Scrub and disinfect shower rooms. 10. Change incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs. 11. Clean blackboards and erasers as assigned. 12. Submit a request for supplies to appropriate supervisor. 13. Clean and scrub water fountains, sinks, bowls, and glass mirrors. 14. Clean snow and ice from all walks and entrances to building. 15. Change air filters on a regularly scheduled basis. 16. Clean carpeting and scrub down walls. 17. Install pencil sharpeners, replace fuses and be accountable for additional minor repairs to building, equipment and furniture. 18. Clean chair and desktops in classrooms and office areas. 19. Clean up leaves, trim shrubs and perform additional minor outside landscaping duties. 20. Check heating and electrical system regularly and report major problems to maintenance staff. 21. Operate floor scrubber and buffer. 22. Assist maintenance department in tasks or on detail where the work load or type of work is commensurate with regular duties. 23. Check water heaters, air compressors, and other equipment regularly to determine if they are operating properly. 24. Clean restroom areas. 25. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Maintain buses in a manner that meets the Indiana State School Bus Inspection Guidelines. 2. Be responsible for mechanical repairs on all school buses and corporation owned vehicles. 3. Maintain a reasonable supply of parts and equipment for all vehicles. 4. Oversee the everyday operation of the transportation department. This may include the following functions: a. Secure parts when requested or as needed. b. Be responsible for the garage and office. c. Pick up and/or deliver buses as required. 5. Possess sufficient knowledge and experience to diagnose and trouble-shoot engine and electrical problems. 6. Understand and possess the knowledge to rebuild brakes, master cylinders, clutches, automatic transmissions, and to overhaul an engine when required. 7. Recognize the need to correct defects and/or replace worn parts and equipment as needed 8. Maintain, diagnose and repair school bus stop arm and warning light systems. 9. Maintain, diagnose and repair air brake systems on Class VI and VII buses and trucks. 10. Maintain, diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic transmission components. 11. Maintain, diagnose and repair electronically controlled diesel engines. 12. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all school buses and corporation owned vehicles which includes oil changes and lubrication. 13. Maintain complete mechanical records on all vehicles repaired or serviced by the transportation department. 14. Participate in continuous training program to update skills. 15. Assist Maintenance Director with snow removal duties. 16. Maintain lawn equipment and snow equipment. 17. Perform such other duties as assigned or requested by the Superintendent.

Such duties include duties as assigned by the Building Principal and Superintendent, and include but are not limited to: Minimum of a high school diploma Experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment Knowledge of HVAC systems Knowledge of safe work practices Strong communication skills Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and meet the physical demands of physical plant maintenance • Examine all buildings on a regular basis for needed repairs and maintenance. • Establish and recommend priorities on repair projects. • Estimate cost of repair projects in terms of labor, material and time. • Establish and institute a preventative maintenance program for all buildings. • Complete maintenance repairs as needed – personally or by an outside source as situation warrants. • Establish and institute a program for emergency repairs. • Coordinate the ordering of all supplies and materials needed for the continued operation of the building. • Order materials as needed and make recommendations for supply and equipment purchase. This includes the development of specifications and evaluation of bids. • Coordinate the work of outside contractors. • Maintain accurate records. • Communicate effectively with building principals and central office personnel. • Develop and institute a snow removal plan. • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Department Responsibilities The use of sick leave may properly be denied if these procedures are not followed. Abuse of sick leave on the part of the employee is cause for disciplinary action. Departmental approval of sick leave is a certification of the legitimacy of the sick leave claim. The department head or designee may make reasonable inquiries about employee absences. The department may require medical verification for an absence of three (3) or more working days. The department may also require medical verification for absences of less than three (3) working days for probable cause if the employee had been notified in advance in writing that such verification was necessary. Inquiries may be made in the following ways: 1. Calling the employee's residence telephone number or other contact telephone number provided by the employee if telephone notification was not made in accordance with departmental sick leave call-in guidelines. These inquiries shall be subject to any restrictions imposed by the employee under Section 14.4.a. 2. Obtaining the employee's signature on the Absence/Overtime Record, or on another form established for that purpose, as employee certification of the legitimacy of the claim. 3. Obtaining the employee's written statement regarding the sick leave claim and duration. 4. Requiring the employee to obtain a physician's certificate or verification of the employee's illness, date(s) the employee was incapacitated, and the employee's ability to return to work, as specified above. 5. In absences of an extended nature, requiring the employee to obtain from their physician a statement of progress and anticipated date on which the employee will be able to return to work, as specified above. Department heads are responsible for establishing timekeeping procedures which will insure the submission of a time card covering each employee absence and for operating their respective offices in accordance with these policies and with clarifying regulations issued by the Office of the County Administrator. To help assure uniform policy application, the Director of Human Resources or designated management staff of the County Human Resources Department should be contacted with respect to sick leave determinations about which the department is in doubt.

  • REGULATORY ADMINISTRATION SERVICES BNY Mellon shall provide the following regulatory administration services for each Fund and Series:  Assist the Fund in responding to SEC examination requests by providing requested documents in the possession of BNY Mellon that are on the SEC examination request list and by making employees responsible for providing services available to regulatory authorities having jurisdiction over the performance of such services as may be required or reasonably requested by such regulatory authorities;  Assist with and/or coordinate such other filings, notices and regulatory matters and other due diligence requests or requests for proposal on such terms and conditions as BNY Mellon and the applicable Fund on behalf of itself and its Series may mutually agree upon in writing from time to time; and

  • Department Chairs The release time required to perform the administrative functions of the Department Chair positions shall be deducted from the total workload of the Department Chair with no less than fifty percent (50%) of this release taken from direct instructional duties.

  • Department Chairpersons 17.1 In each elementary, middle and senior high school, the need for department chairpersons/team leaders shall be determined by the principal. Each such department chairperson/team leader shall be appointed for one (1) academic year. If possible, such appointment should be made prior to the end of the preceding academic year. Teachers shall have the right to refuse such appointment. Team leaders will have coordinating and planning functions for their teams and shall serve as liaison between their teams and the principal. They shall not be considered administrative employees. 17.2 When feasible, and after consultation with them, department chairpersons and team leaders will be provided with release time commensurate with the responsibilities assigned to them by their principal.

  • Department’s Contract Manager The Department’s Contract Manager, who is primarily responsible for the Department’s oversight of the Contract, will be identified in a separate writing to the Contractor upon Contract signing in the following format: Department’s Contract Manager Name Department’s Name Department’s Physical Address Department’s Telephone # Department’s Email Address If the Department changes the Contract Manager, the Department will notify the Contractor. Such a change does not require an amendment to the Contract.

  • Agreement Administration SBBC has delegated authority to the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee to take any actions necessary to implement and administer this Agreement.

  • Department Seniority Department seniority is defined as continuous length of service in calendar days within the employee’s department and where applicable, shall be used for internal department processes, such as vacation and schedule bids.

  • Project Administration Designation Pursuant to Paragraph (B) of Rule 164-1-21 of the Administrative Code, the Recipient shall designate its Chief Executive Officer, Chief Fiscal Officer and Project Manager in Appendix B of this Agreement. Changes in these designations must be made in writing.
