Makeup time. (a) An employee may elect, with the consent of the employer, to work make up time under which the employee takes time off during ordinary hours, and works those hours at a later time, during the spread of ordinary hours provided in this Part 2 of this Agreement. This clause is subject to Level 1 Facilitation. (b) An employee on shift work may elect with the consent of their employer, to work make up time under which the employee takes time off during ordinary hours and works those hours at a later time, at the shift work rate which would have been applicable to the hours taken off. Makeup time. Employees may make up work time that is or would be lost as a result of authorized leave i f the makeup time is performed during the same workweek in which the work time is lost. An employee will only be permitted to make up work time i f the employee submits a signed written request and the employee's direct supervisor approves the makeup time in advance. Any employee who performs makeup work will not be paid overtime unless more than forty (40) hours is worked in the workweek that is not a result of make up work time.

Makeup time. If an employee is unable to arrive at work at the usual 16 starting time or needs to leave early due to circumstances beyond the employee’s control, the 17 employee may, at the employee’s option and with the employee’s supervisor’s prior approval and 18 without disciplinary consequences: 19 Section 5.5 (a) Makeup any lost time of less than thirty (30) minutes during the same 20 day or workweek, or request to use vacation time. 21 Section 5.5(b) Makeup any lost time more than thirty (30) minutes during the current 22 pay period or deduct the time lost from the employee’s accrued vacation. At no time may an 23 employee make up time when working such makeup time will result in the employee working more 24 than 40 hours in one week. 25 Section 5.5(c) When an employee who normally works Monday through Thursday or 26 Tuesday through Friday is absent from work due to adverse weather conditions or the observance of 27 religious holidays, the employee shall be permitted to make up the work on the employee’s scheduled 28 Friday/Monday off in lieu of using paid leave time, provided that all of the following conditions are 1 satisfied: 1) the time is made up within the next two (2) full weeks; 2) supervision will be available 2 without special scheduling; and 3) the hours being made up do not result in overtime pay for the 3 employee.

Makeup time. 4.8.1. When a team member is absent from work for any reason for which leave is not prescribed under this Agreement, the team member will, with the consent of the Company, be able to make up such time by working an equivalent number of hours up to 1 full day in addition to their normal rostered hours within a single pay period. 4.8.2. The additional hours will be deemed to be ordinary hours and paid for at the ordinary time rate. In addition, team members will maintain applicable loadings and allowances payable had they undertaken their work as rostered but will not be paid any additional loadings or allowances due to the shift or day on which the make-up time is performed.
Makeup time. The District allows the use of makeup time when non-exempt employees need time off to tend to personal obligations. Makeup time worked will not be paid at an overtime rate. Employees may take time off and then make up the time later in the same workweek, or may work extra hours earlier in the workweek to make up for time that will be taken off later in the workweek. Makeup time requests must be submitted in writing to the employee’s supervisor on the form provided by the District. Makeup time requests must be signed by the requesting employee. Requests will be considered based on the legitimate business needs of the District at the time the request is submitted. A separate written request is required each time the employee requests makeup time. If an employee requests time off that is to be made up later in the week, the employee must submit the request at least 24 hours in advance of the desired time off. If the employee requests to make up time prior to taking time off, the employee must submit the request at least 24 hours before working the makeup time. Makeup time requests must be approved in writing before the employee takes the requested time off or works the makeup time, whichever is first. All makeup time must be worked in the same workweek as the time taken off. Employees may not work more than 11 hours in a day or 40 hours in a workweek as a result of making up time that was or would be lost due to personal obligations. If an employee takes time off and is unable to work the scheduled makeup time for any reason, the hours missed will normally be unpaid. However, your supervisor may arrange with you another day to make up the time if possible, based on scheduling needs. If an employee works makeup time in advance of time they plan to take off, the employee must take that time off, even if the employee no longer requires that time off. An employee's use of makeup time is completely voluntary. The District does not encourage, discourage, or solicit the use of makeup time.
